My fantasy is that she pulls a Fergie, Eugenie enters wearing the York tiara and exits wearing a brand, spanking new tiara from her husband / husband's family which will henceforth be known as the Brooksbank tiara.

but Sarah did that to show she entered as a commoner and left as a duchess. Eugenie is a blood Princess - I expect her to come in proudly wearing the York tiara.

I would really really love to see Eugenie in the Strathmore Rose. It would just be a beautifully symbolic thing for me.

One thing is that this Queen tend to not loan out family tiaras so much. She didn't for Zara or Autumn nor Margaret's daughter or daughter-in-law. The tradition under this Queen has been wear something that's already in the immediate family (even if by loan), except for the Wales boys' bride, who will need a tiara more often than her other grandchildren/in-law. What will be interesting is to see what happens when Louise get married as there isn't a tiara that's entirely diamonds and the BRF brides tend not to wear colored stones on their wedding day. But with York family, there is already one in the family.

Not to be off topic, but the Wessex clan does have an all diamond tiara at their disposal in Sophie's wedding tiara. Whether Louise and the future Mrs. James will want to wear it given its (in my opinion) unattractive nature is another question, but the option does exist.

It's definitely a statement piece. And it would be beautifully symbolic, the York bride connection, and Eugenie looks enough like QEQM that it could be a real blast from the past.

Not a discussion I won't to be part of, but most of the jewels in the ''vault'' (with some exceptions) are owned by HM personally and not the crown. [emoji2]
That's correct. Most jewels in "the vault" are personally owned by HM and not the Crown.

The Strathmore would be great to see again, but I suspect it will be the York tiara.

Two issues with your fantasy.

1 there is no transformation. Eugenie isn't leaving the royal family. She isn't entering a princess and leaving a commoner or something

2 Placing a tiara and securing it takes time. What do they do with guests while she is switching tiaras. It's not like changing hats.

Sarah always had her tiara on, it was just hidden under the flowers. It was simply taking the flowers off

I believe that was only on loan to Sophie. Unlike the York tiara, which was purchased for Sarah. Once she received the aquamarine tiara on loan, that was never seen again. The jewels used are from Queen Victoria, I think it's unlikely HMQ would gift it rather than just loan that one.

I also think gifting Eugenie with a new tiara would be such a waste, since she hardly has any occasion to wear it. Perhaps for a coronation, but she could easily borrow one for that.
Agreed. It would be an enormous waste of money and would likely not sit well with the public.

The reality is that it is just not clear which of Sophie 's tiaras are owned by her, and which are loans from HM. Whether it is the wedding tiara, the 5 Aquamarine tiara or the convertible aquamarine and diamond necklace / tiara, there is just no information in the public domain as to their ownership.

Why would they spend money on a tiara? Its not likely to get used much...

While it'd be a nice gesture, and just by how close her mother and her are, I would say she would on first thought. But then I thought about it more. The entire point of Fergie doing that was she was a commoner going up the aisle (and thus flowers), she was a royal coming out (tiara). Really doesn't apply here.

I am aware of why Fergie did the switcheroo, the commoner to royal thing. I don't think the fact that Eugenie is not going through the same transformation as her mother is an argument against doing a switcheroo. Now her husband / husband's family actually ponying up a tiara as a bridal gift is much more of a barrier.

Also, it's not that his family is a particularly moneyed family with many tiaras to dole out.

I mean, if it's something she'll get use out of, I'm sure Andrew wouldn't mind to give his daughter a tiara as a wedding present, which has been done in the past when royal princesses married. But it's just impractical even if you have the money given that she's not a working royal. Much better to use the money towards something else.

Actually, when Sophie wore the 5 Aquamarine tiara BP stated it was a loan from the Queen.
I’m not sure about the other two tiaras.

I thought the Brooksbanks were wealthy.

The Brooksbank Tiara of my fantasy is a convertible tiara necklace. :D

I am absolutely certain she will wear the York tiara. Everything else would be a surprise....
Although I have to say - I am still in my dreams hoping for the Lotus flower tiara - as this is so much linked with her great-grandmother - and she does look most like her - from all the female descendants....

But the 5Aqua could just as well been gifted since!

Knowing what we know now, it would be irresponsible IMO of the Queen to gift tiaras and other jewels with any kind of provenance.

It's definitely a lovely tiara. My only critique there is that Beatrice will likely use it someday and she'll probably inherit it as the eldest daughter. Where the other royal brides in sibling sets used different tiaras from each other. Elizabeth and Margaret wore different wedding tiaras. Anne, Diana, Sarah, and Sophie all wore different tiaras. Serena and Lady Sarah had different tiaras. Autumn and Zara had different tiaras. Catherine and Meghan had different tiaras.

Though it's a beautiful tiara it just seems a little redundant for Bea and Eugenie to use the same one, though I guess it speaks to the bond between the three York women. I suppose I'm still hoping Eugenie goes with a surprise from her grandmother's vault.
Autumn and Zara could easily wear two different tiaras because Anne had two all-diamond tiaras herself. The same goes for Serena and Sarah, because Margret had several tiara options. But they all borrowed from their mother/mother-in-law. Sarah only has one tiara at her disposal, so imo it is likely that both daughters will wear the same tiara.

Anne wore the same wedding tiara as her mother Queen Elizabeth, and it is not one she is likely to wear again or even inherit. And unlike Anne, all her sisters-in-law repeated their wedding tiara numerous times after their wedding.

Kate and Meghan borrowed from the Queen, but with them marrying working royals and needing tiaras for future State Banquets, it's no surprise that they got loans from the vault. On the other hand, it's surprising that Kate has worn three different royal tiaras in a very few years, as that hasn't happened to any of the other Ladies who married into the family.

So, taking all that into consideration, I still think that Eugenie will wear the York tiara. She can still borrow another tiara from the vault for future coronations.

It's really not know if Sophie had to hand back her wedding tiara. I can easily believe that she just prefers the five aquamarine tiara, and therefore stopped wearing the wedding tiara when she had access to another royal tiara.

Princess Eugenie will wear the York tiara with diamonds or fake diamonds (because they were sold), we will never see the difference !

I think Eugenie will wear the York tiara, its a way of showing her love for her mother (and father) and I suspect Beatrice will do the same as well if/when she marries. I think if either of the girls had been at a tiara event before now and worn it then it may not be the first choice but as this will be a first time (public at least) wear I think Eugenie will choose her mothers tiara.

I'm totally in agreement with those that believe that Eugenie will wear her mother's wedding tiara. It used to be that mothers saved their wedding dresses for their daughters to wear on their wedding day but I think that's a tradition that has pretty much bit the dust in this day and age.

The Yorks have always been a very united family even with a divorce. Eugenie, understandably, has always been very close to her mother and I don't there is a question of which tiara either Eugenie or Beatrice will wear on their wedding day. Sarah's wedding tiara most likely will remain with this York family and subsequent granddaughters and granddaughters-in-law will wear the York tiara. It probably will become a tradition for many generations to come hence gathering provenance as time passes.

I will be very surprised if Eugenie wears any other tiara than her mother's.

I think QEII remembers the hard lessons learnt about Queen Mary's penchant for giving tiaras away to family. In my opinion, some of the most beautiful jewels left the House of Windsor under her guardianship. QEII also learnt from her good friend Queen Margrethe of Denmark what happens when you gift an item of jewellery with great provenance and history to your daughter in law.

So, Anne's tiaras had everything to do with being gifts to her from her grandmother and parents as a Royal Princess of the UK but, for her wedding, she borrowed the tiara her mother's beautiful fringe tiara which she had worn for her wedding.

Following tradition, I would be shocked if Eugenie wore anything other than her mother's wedding tiara which was purchased for her by the Queen and DoE. It has no provenance or history save that of the current York family. Since the girls both adore their mother I would think it a no-brainer.

Several of Queen Victoria's made their way out of the family when her daughters/granddaughters married...two of my favorites are now owned by the Duke of Fife.

What was that about?

I'm saying if we are going to assume without any reason that the tiara could've been gifted to her after BP said it was loaned to her, then we can believe the same for every tiara. Neither of which I have seen any reason that would indicate is true.
