Moderators: Since I created these, I believe they are within the posting guidelines for the Forum. If any or all of them are not, I understand that you may have to remove them.

This is my first attempt at creativity in any forum. Thank you to all of you who have posted before, because you really inspired me to look at what I could create. I've never linked anything before either, so I hope all of this works.

It seems that a lot of the posts in this thread are about the crown princesses or the tiaras themselves.

I thought it would be interesting to look at what might have been if history had taken a couple of different turns.

What if Harald had chosen duty over love and instead of asking Sonja to marry him, had gone along with the plans laid by Queen Frederike of the Hellenes and married her eldest daughter Sofia instead?

Assuming that, perhaps Franco would have been more amenable to the relationship between Juan Carlos and Marie Gabrielle of Savoy.

Then we would have the following jewels adorning HM Queen Sofia of Norway and HM Queen Marie-Gabrielle of Spain:

(Some of these do not show the entire tiara because of cropping limitations on originals. I wanted the final image to look as close to realistic as I could get it so I didn't adjust margins or backgrounds)

Don't get me wrong: I don't hope so either.
Well, I once saw her wearing a (plastic? )Tiara in SE og HØR. She was dressed like a Princess and wearing this tiara in her hair.. so, that's what I wanted to say when I wrote that Pia is a wannebe-Princess.

I hope to have the corrected links worked out soon for the ones that didn't work. I am also working on another set featuring Princess Olga of Greece, the former fiancee of King Frederik IX.

Does anyone know of any other royal engagements/romances that may have changed the course of history? As you can tell, I'm kind of a history freak. Thanks in advance.

How about Wallis Simpson? She is the woman I think of when you mentioned changing the course of history. If she had been excepted as the king's wife, or princess consort (like Camilla), I wonder what would have happened?
