Who do you think is or was the most dazzling royal women in history? Dazzling in the way she would wear her jewels and the way she presented herself in the public eye. If possible please add a picture along with your responds. Thanks!

My first dazzeling royal Lady is Diana princess of Wales, she just looked so good in her jewels and was always so elegant.

My second is Princess Grace, again she was so elegant and regal. I'm sad she never got to wear and big impressive jewelry I think she would have looked stunning in it.

My third is princess Mary, she has that style and presence that just reaks crown princess. She looks amazing in the ruby parure I wish she would use the diamond one soon!

I also like Queen mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Mary, they all are/were perfect Queens.

Dazzling jewel-wise you mean? Definately Queen mary, though Empress Marie Feodorovna of Russia is a contender as well. Of todays royals the only ones who actually have fun with their jewels and are not afraid to wear many are Queen Margrethe II and Queen Sylvia.

Queen Mary, then her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth

Queen Mary was definitly the most dazzeling. Diana and Grace wore really nice jewels but they were always appropiate and tastefull not dazzling usually. Mary is dazzeling. She has really nice jewelry that dazzles.

Her jewels are amazing. What happened to the stomacher and necklace. Are they worn today.

I wouldnt mind those small diamonds anyday.

The Queen has a similarity with her grandmother, Queen Mary..I think its in their eyes..They are look-alike quite a little bit..and I think they are both dazzling Queens..

Wow, Queen Mary was really the most dazzling royal woman I ever saw..
She looks always perfect with all these jewels on her...and yes, I think Queen Elizabeth looks a little bit like her.

I think the most dazzling was probably Queen Mary's photogenic predecessor, Queen Alexandra. She was physically an imposing and striking woman to the end, and like Mary had the dignity to wear tons of jewels. Any other Queen Alexandra proponents out there?

Queen Alexandra is my favorite, fallowed by her sister the empress. How about any of the Russian grand duchesses. :ermm: thay also have the biggest jewels but some of them did not wear them well.

I agree that Queen Alexandra could wear some jewels--but sometimes she seemd to be a little overloaded.
Here is a great photograph of Queen Alexandra looking a bit overloaded (but still wonderful) with her daughters Louise (the Princess Royal, Duchess of Fife) and Victoria (who never married). I have not seen the tiara which Louise is wearing before. Anyone know anything about it?

If you click on the photo a couple of times you will see the jewels in wonderful detail.

It looks like the one that the Duke of Westminster owns with an extra piece on the top. :ermm:

I think the most dazzling royal wearer of jewels is the current Queen of England but after her is, imo, the last Empress of Iran, Farah Diba, who was exotic in those huge emeralds. She had the height to carry off some major jewels.

Oh Yes, they were both amazing but Queen Alexandra had a face and demeanor that just set her apart. I doubt we will ever see Queens that can carry that amount of gems again and not look odd. Mary and Alexandra, two dazzling queens.

Without wanting to stir up the usual Camilla vs Diana debate, I think Camilla looks pretty dazzling when dressed up for a state / tiara occassion!

I think Camilla is Camilla and Diana is Diana. And I like Camilla.:flowers:

Camilla dazzling in the Boucheron Honeycomb tiara and the lovely sapphires she recently received as a gift from the Saudi's.

One heck of a diamond necklace:

Does she dazzle? Yes indeed!

So, while I was enjoying posting some photos of The Duchess of Cornwall, it occurred to me that Queen Silvia is, GASP, missing from this list. Surely this is an oversight, if one takes into account the following dazzling images! I have to say, that Queen Mary is certainly the standard to set Dazzling by (I choose her over Alexandra because Queen Mary significantly added to the royal collection while Alexandra gave most of her pieces to her children and we never get to see them) but Queen Silvia wins hands down for our most Dazzling Current Queen!

First, I LOVE this gown. She's just elegant. The tiara is gorgeous, the necklace gasp worthy, the earrings amazing--

You know what? Here's a link to Queen Silvia's gowns and jewels that she has worn to the Nobels--dazzling, regal, exquisite, breathtaking just doesn't even begin to cover this Queen.

And, in the most beautiful amethyst parue around

As I mentioned before, Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia:

I agree with Janet, of the present royals nobody can beat Queen Silvia!

It’s really next to impossible to compare the Edwardian style of wearing jewelry to modern times.
Should Queen Elizabeth II appear today decked out in as many jewels at once as Queen Mary, she would look slightly ridiculous no matter how regal her bearing.
I agree with jcbcode99 that among all the current female Royals, Queen Silvia of Sweden would have to be the most dazzling.
She really represents the art of wearing jewelry at its most exquisite.
Whether seen from the front or the back, she knows how to dazzle also with her hairstyles, incorporating additional jewels in imaginative ways.
Three of many examples over the years – on a state visit to Italy in 1991:

I've always thought that Queen Mary was the most dazzling lady. She knew how to wear her jewelry and she didn't let it "wear her" like many current royal ladies. I remember reading a description of her appearance at the wedding of Kaiser Wilhem's daughter and it was said that she was in jewels from head to toe but that it wasn't overpowering her due to her regal bearing. I don't know if there is a picture available or not.

As for current royal ladies, I have to agree that Queen Silvia is always most impressive with her jewelry and that she has a fabulous collection at her disposal. The same goes for QEII, but I do wish she would add a little color into her evening wardrobe of late. But white always goes with everything, right? I think Princess Maxima also knows how to dazzle with jewels. She has the right kind of personality and bearing to wear some of the bigger pieces.

Sigh...makes me wish I could have just 5 minutes to look inside every royal lady's jewel vault!!

I most definately agree with Janet and Boris re: Queen Silvia! She is ever so clever in her use of dazzling jewels. Always creative and unusual and surprising uses of them. Just wonderful !!

I think Queen Margrethe II. can also be added to the present Royal Ladies. Unfortunately she has not such a big collection to choose from like Queen Silvia but for example at the Wedding of Frederik and Mary she looked very regal.

yes, Queen Margrethe, I think is the only one nowadays that really looks like the formers queens in others centuries, very regal, and distinguished, she can wear so many jewelry and still look Prefect. Not exaggerated.
