What is Meghan's favorite flower? I inquire because if an entirely new tiara is made, this flower could be included in the design.

Charles should visit the Kent's and bring on the big wallet

Personally I'd rather he visit the Snowden's and secure the Teck Circle [IF it's not already been returned to the Vault]. It's geometric modernity would be perfection on Ms Markle.

If that’s a vote, I’ll second it!

So wyevale, if we could only get into the vaults and sit on the floor and spread out the treasures, oh my...,

Isn't there speculation that the base of this tiara might be made from the long unseen "Lozenge" tiara or the other small band tiara of Queen Mary?
The Kent pearl tiara was made from yet another of Queen Mary's diamond bandeau. There were so many, it's quite easy to get lost with them. The bandeau that went to the Kents often is nicknamed the 'crotched tiara', or something like that. But it's not the same as the lozenge tiara.

I think the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland or the Queen Mary's Fringe tiaras would look nice on Meghan. I don't think she would wear the Cartier Halo tiara simply because the wedding is too soon after Catherine's for comparisons not to be made.

I think the Papyrus Tiara, QM's Lozenge Bandeau, and the Teck Crescent Tiara would all look lovely on Meghan, but of course, any selection would depend on her dress, veil, and hair styling choices.

Yes, but those are the Queens favorite tiaras and you will not see her lending them to Meghan or anyone else while she is living. The only time she has lent the Fringe tiara was to her daughter when she got married. The Girls of Great Britain Tiara has adorned her head for decades and is the one most associated with her. Do you really think she would lend such important tiara to someone she barely knows?

Meghan will be allowed to borrow a tiara that isn’t currently being loaned on a regular basis. Since Kate’s tiara was not designed for her I really doubt the Queen or Charles will design one for Meghan.

As it happens I did bare that in mind. I am aware that HM favours the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland and the Fringe. I was merely choosing the tiaras I liked best from the polls. I am aware of the background behind the tiaras, actually. I was simply contributing to the thread. I apologise if I sound a little cranky, I just thought your tone was rather patronising for a simple comment. I respect your opinion though.

I apologize if my tone was patronizing. :flowers: I wasn’t aware from you original post that you were aware of the importance of those particular tiaras. They are beautiful and you are right that they would certainly look lovely on Meghan, but I think those tiaras will be reserved for the future Queen Consorts.

‘Tis all good, I appreciate your apology. ? Yes, I do agree that I didn’t make myself clear on the front that I was already aware of HM’s liking of the two tiaras - it’s more a mistake on my part. I’m glad we were able to talk things through civilly.

Thanks Princess!! You are very gracious, :flowers: I am home with bronchitis on top of an upper respiratory infection so am a little cranky. I think I need to read again before hitting that post button in tThe future.

I voted other, and I'd like to see her wear the Queen Mother's bracelet bandeau with the rubies as the middle strand.

ETA: I really hope they *don't* choose the teck crescent, unless it's broken up and used to create a new tiara for Meghan. I personally think it's not at all attractive.

With that said, I also agree that the Teck Circle tiara is gorgeous.

Is that bandeau still available? I know that the crescent isn’t everyone’s taste but once you start eliminating those that we know are still intact but otherwise already loaned out or not available for loan, that leaves very few appropriate choices for a wedding tiara and possibly one she will have use of in future. That leaves the Strathmore and Crescent. I know the Strathmore is popular as a choice, but personally I just don’t see that as Megan’s style. The Crescent is more of sophisticated and substantial for future use. Jmo

From The Court Jeweller:

The bracelets are still around today and are in the collection of the Queen. She wears them occasionally, but to my knowledge, the Queen Mum is the only member of the family who has worn the bandeau in public. You can see a very clear image of all five of them in one of my favorite royal books of last year, Angela Kelly's Dressing the Queen.

It's possible that the frame doesn't exist, but the bracelets do.

I don't think that because a tiara wasn't designed for Kate would have any kind of impact on one being designed for Meghan. The main reason being is that when Kate married, she married a man that will one day be King and she will have every tiara and piece of jewelry in the royal vaults at her disposal. She wouldn't need one designed for her.

Meghan will not have that. One designed especially for Meghan would be one that could stay in Harry and Meghan's family line down through the generations as they eventually move away from being as close to the monarch as they are now.

Its interesting to think about but one day we most likely will see The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland on Kate's head. :D

I am firmly in the Team Strathmore Rose camp. I think it's a lovely tiara, it's got a touch of personal history, and it's not currently being used by any other family members. If I had to pick something else, I'd go Queen Mary's Fringe since the Queen doesn't seem to wear it much and it does have a history as a bridal tiara. But I think it might be a bit too big as a starter tiara, where the Strathmore Rose is the perfect size for a beginner.

Voted Teck Crescent tiara, but I would prefer Teck Circle tiara rather than any other tiaras (including the Crescent) if it is still in the main line.

The bracelet bandeau is a nice choice too! I think its simple and elegant style fits Meghan. It would be a nice gift right? A convertible piece for the new member of the royal family.

I must say I am in love with the bandeau. Posibly because its not the traditional tiara. More like a jeweled headdress in ways.

If she did wear it, she definitely needs a vintage feel wedding dress. That screams downton abbey feel to me. :flowers:

I am finding it hard to vote on a tiara since the tiara's style will have everything to do with the gown. :ermm: If the gown is simple, I could see her wearing a more complicated tiara (style-wise) but I don't think she will do that in any case.

I think Meghan will choose a very understated tiara, if she chooses a tiara at all. It's possible she will decline, or choose some manner/kind of hair jewel. :flowers:

I don't see her breaking the tiara tradition. Even non-royal brides into the family, like Autumn, wore a tiara on her wedding. Love to see her explore jewels in her hair for fancy events later but doubt will see at the wedding.

I think it simply a matter of a simpler tiara vs somewhat bigger one. This is her introduction into royal life, and a tiara is part.

She isn' t allowed to surpass Kate' s Wedding tiara so this means the same Kate wore or a smaller one if they have one IMO

There is no rule about 'not surpassing Kate' :bang:

Kate was given a choice of tiaras and chose a smaller one, it suited her. Kate also has been given a number of tiaras to wear since her wedding day. If Meghan is like Sophie or Sarah, she will likely have to wear this one tiara for some time to come. To assume she would be given some teeny tiara so Kate isn't jealous..... Different brides, different weddings.

No one is going to upstage the future queen. If they were really worried about that, they would have insisted Kate wear a bigger tiara on her wedding. Zara wore a bigger tiara on her wedding day and she doesn't have a title.

The only comparison will be at future tiara events when they are both in comparison. And with Kate in the Cambridge lovers knott, not much fear Meghan will have bigger then her. The lovers knott is substantial.

No way Meghan will wear the halo. The last thing they need to do is draw even more comparisons between the two.

She might wish to Not wear a tiara at all
I remember Astrid Belgium not wearing one when marrying Lorenz Austria (Photo available?)

I think that may be a real possibility, though a hair jewel would be a nice compromise. :flowers: JMO.

The tiaras can come later, for the dressy events. ;)

Different royal families, different situations all together. Even among the private members of the BRF, like Zara and Autumn, they wore tiaras.

Honestly I don't think the royals are as dumb to public opinion as some people make them out to be.

The obvious message that some people will take, if Meghan doesn't wear a tiara, is she wasn't allowed. How many people clung to the 'they cant get married in a church' or all the other ridiculous stories. Or question if the queen approves at all, and comparison to Wallis. There will be tons of 'the queen doesn't approve, she was forced to say yes' and 'she refuses to allow mixed race bride to wear a tiara'.

The wedding is the royal introduction, the big welcome to the family. A tiara is the centerpiece of that, it symbolizes that. I doubt there isn't a tiara that Meghan and the royals can settle on that suits her.

Has the Teck Circle thingee ever been worn as a tiara? I see it referenced but don't think I've seen it as a tiara other than as a photoshopped image. I gotta say that if the tiara version lives up to the photoshopped image, it will be a very nice tiara.

By the way if the tiara photoshopper from OOS lurks on this board, I would like to put in an order for Meghan in Teck Circle, the Diamond Lozenge Bandeau, the Cartier Bracelet and the Spencer Tiara.

I also like the idea of hair jewels.

ETA:
Update/correction, the Queen Mother wore the Teck Circle as a tiara, and I have been to this blog post before, so it slipped my mind that the Queen Mother wore the necklace as a Tiara.
