Beautiful pictures, Humera. Thank you for posting them. :flowers: (BTW, is it just me, or CP Margarita's picture doesn't load properly?)

Anyways, my vote goes for CP Mette Marit. In my humble opinion, she looked the very best on this lovely day. Her tiara and hair combination was just perfect. She was a modern day Cinderella!

I also voted for Mette-Marit. This was one of my favourite tiara hairdos of her. But I also really liked Mathilde's, Madeleine's and Mary's hairdos. Queen Silvia looked also great (she chose the perfect hairdo for the large tiara) and I liked Queen Sonja's romantic hairdo looking like a heart. :)

It's kinda hard to tell which person matches the link in the poll cause there are no numbers to match.
I voted for CP Mary.

I voted for Madeleine. I love that tiara. It's loops of tiny forget-me-nots and is so delicate. When she appeared on the live-feed it was stunning.

A lot of other royal ladies looked great that day.
  • Princess Sarvath El-Hassan of Jordan looked fantastic. I really liked how the tiara went around her hair and the contrast of the diamonds against her hair.
  • Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway was almost my choice. The look was phenomenal- great hair do and the perfect tiara for her. Very minor deduction for the visible base, but overall great.
  • Princess Märtha Louise- she should keep the amethyst tiara, it looks great on her.
  • Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleberg- best of the minor royals
  • Queen Silvia- great hair, even better tiara.

Some were pretty disappointing:
  • Princess Margarita- the tiara base looks like it was wrapped with bright red fabric. It's drawing attention when it should be fading away.
  • Princess Astrid of Belgium- I hate the hair shelf she put her tiara on. I'm guessing it was to cover the tiara base but there are so many better ways.
  • Queen Rania- biggest disappointment of the day! Her hair was messy, the tiara was tiny, it was just bad.

Queen Silvia.
She looked fab and her tiara is the best out of the bunch.

2. Princess Madeleine ( love her tiara)
3. Mette Marit (her hairdo brought out the tiara)
4. Letizia (Love the braids!)

I don't know why, but my least favorite was Mary. I thought she could've looked better.

My vote goes to Crown Princess Mary. I like her hairdo and the Ruby Tiara is amazing.
I also liked Queen Anne-Marie,Princess Letizia and Princess Mette-Marit

Initially, I ruled out most of the queens and other older ladies, since most of them did their usual hairstyle and stuck a tiara on it. They all looked great, but nothing new...not even from Silvia who has worn her hair down with tiaras recently to great success IMHO. Then I thought possibly Madeleine. She looked very pretty and even though the tiara still had the dark base covering, it wasn't distracting. But when I looked at all the pictures again...most of the younger ladies all had the same basic hairstyle - Mary, Maxima, Carina, Mathilde - its all basically the same. So when I looked again at who was innovative without being over the top, I voted for Mette-Marit. I thought the tiara was tilted a little too far back, but she looked beautiful and the hair from the back was very attractive.

And after looking at these photos (THANK YOU, Humera!) which showed many of the ladies from the back, I actually like Rania's hairstyle if she got rid of the strands. It wouldn't look near as sloppy.

There wasn't a picture of her, but I thought Princess Desiree of Hohenzollern (Birgitta's daughter) looked the best she ever has. For her wedding, she wore the tiara with her hair down, and for King CG's 60th birthday it was too...tight? Her hair at this wedding seemed the right balance for the size of the tiara and I thought she looked really good.

1. Crown Princess Mary ( Very nice Hairdo and the Ruby Tiara is amazing)
2. Crown Princess Mette Marit ( She looke very lovely)

My favorite was Princess Martha-Louise. I loved the color and her hair style
I didn't like Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. I though it was too big(tall)

:previous: here you go: Princess Desiree of Hohenzollern
I'll also add her name to the second list above.

Wow, thanks, Humera! I didn't expect a picture and truthfully she wouldn't get my vote in this poll. I just thought that it is the best she has looked. Also, in your picture we get to see the tiara itself more closely than we have before. Thanks again!

I voted for CP Mary. She was beautiful as usual.

Princesses Mette-Marit and Letizia were beautiful too.

I voted for Princess Mathilde. She is just the epitome of elegance and class. I love her tiara.

I also think CP Mary and Princess Letizia looked great too.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit - the way she wore the tiara and her hair was amazing

Mette-Marit hands down. Though Mary's is really lovely and Letizia's looks stunning from the side, the front is just a bit to harsh for me.

First, thank you Humera for this poll and great photos of different views of the hairstyles :flowers:
I voted for CP Mette-Marit - beautiful, delicate tiara and romantic hairstyle. everything is going well here - make-up, hairdo, jewelery and dress.
I also like:
CP Mary-great hairdo
Queen Silvia - typical hairstyle for her, but going well this magnificent tiara
Queen Sonja - amazing hairdo, but I would like to see tiara better (especially in front)

thank you so much i have not seen that picture

were there other children of the swedish kings sisters wich wore tiaras?

Hi, Josefine! We didn't get any really good pictures of it (maybe someone has one) but Maria, the wife of Princess Desiree's eldest son wore what looked to be a pearl (?) tiara-brooch in her hair and it was sitting toward the top of her head. The other daughters and daughters-in-law of the Haga princesses may have worn some sort of brooch or jeweled hairpiece but it would have to have been in the back, as nothing was seen in pictures of them from the front.

Maybe if you guys give me the names and perhaps show me a picture or two I might be able to come up with something.

Hi, Humera. I has sent a pvt msg regarding this but then decided to just go ahead and post them:

I didn't post Birgitta's other daught
ers since we already discussed Desiree Hohenzollern's tiara. And I didn't post pictures of the Magnuson's because their girlfriends did not wear tiaras, although Filippa Reinfeldt and Emma Ledent (Oscar's girlfriend) both wore earrings he designed.

Gorgeous poll, Humera! And thank you for putting so much work in the pictures. You had a lot of back and side views which I hadn't seen before.
I still haven't voted in the poll because I can't make up my mind. The wedding had an exceptional good number of good tiara-hairstyles and one really must congratulate the hairstylists on this event.
I very much like Mette-Marit, but have to criticise that the tiara was worn at such an angle that it nearly got lost in her hair. Mary's hairstyle was wonderful as well, but I'm a bit put off because I preferred the former version of the wonderful ruby tiara. Märtha-Louise was just great for showing us how the amethyst tiara should be worn to best effect, but it still is not the best tiara out there. Among the older generation with shorter/loose hair Queen Silvia was astonishing (and she showed GD Maria Theresa who to wear a big whopper gracefully!). Closely behind Silvia was Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, imo.
As for the worst looks: Neither Queen Rania nor GD Maria Theresa score high on my scale. But they were beaten by far by Princess Brigitta and the nine-prongs tiara (which you wisely left out of the poll;)).
Re. the Haga princesses: all four of them have received their own tiara, but only two of these tiaras appeared at this wedding. Princess Margaretha wore the aquamarine kokoshnik herself, and the tiara of Princess Brigitta was worn by her daughter. I found it a bit disappointing that Princesses Desirée and Christina didn’t lend their tiaras to one of their daughters of daughters-in-law.

I was kind of hoping for that too, Tilia C. But up until a few days before the wedding, all of Princess Christina's sons were bringing their girlfriends...which should get to wear hers? And Princess Desiree only has the one, but two daughters and a daughter-in-law. Desiree of Hohenzollern wore her mother's because it was actually given to her and now belongs to her. I'm not sure, but the only pictures I have ever seen of Birgitta wearing that tiara are from her pre-wedding ball ages ago. I suppose she didn't really care for it anyway. And since Princess Margaretha wore her aquamarine tiara, there was not thing for her daughter or daughters-in-law to wear. Still it would have been nice to haul out all the unused minor tiaras, brooches, revieres hooked on a headband, etc. and put the shine on with all of them!

I'm a bit suprised that this thread got going so late after the wedding, not that I'm complaining :) It's great to see such great combos

Ok, you are right about that. But like a spoiled child I am stamping my foot because I wanted to see HQ pictures of Princess Desirée’s nice little diamond tiara. And the wedding seemed to be THE opportunity for it. Lending tiaras to the girlfriends might not do, I can see that. But one of Christina’s daughers (in law) might have worn the tiara, while the other two wear other jewels like brooches in their hair. (More sulking footstamping from my side.) They could have looked at the Mainau-Bernadottes: while Bettina Bernadotte wore a tiara, her sister-in-law Sandra wore a ruby necklace. OK, they actually do have another tiara, but that is not my favourite with it’s harsh design of cuff-links on spikes. So I forgive Sandra Bernadotte for prefering the ruby necklace. (Sulking kid stops sobbing for a while.)
I'm not sure, but the only pictures I have ever seen of Birgitta wearing that tiara are from her pre-wedding ball ages ago. I suppose she didn't really care for it anyway.
Mmh, I don’t blame her for not caring about this tiara, there are nicer ones out there. But Desirée von Bohlen und Halbach made it look nice. And I can’t say the same of Princess Brigitta and the nine prongs (more sulking sobbing from the spoiled brad here).
And since Princess Margaretha wore her aquamarine tiara, there was not thing for her daughter or daughters-in-law to wear. Still it would have been nice to haul out all the unused minor tiaras, brooches, revieres hooked on a headband, etc. and put the shine on with all of them!
(Sobbing stops:) At least we now know that the aquamarine tiara was not sold, at least not outside the SRF. I’m really glad that it is still there, it’s a beautiful piece! But than there’s more sulking footstamping because of the missed opportunity to stick some nice brooches, pins, necklaces, etc in the hair.

1. I voted for Mette-Marit, even though my favorite tiara is worn by Queen Silvia (her hair style, while nice, was nothing special).

My other favorite tiara/hair combinations are:
2. Claire
3. Martha Louise
4. Mary
5. Letizia

Thank you for the pictures. The full views of the hair-dos was great.

I think that the princess of Jordan (#25) was a nice look. She might have had a small tiara but it worked really nice with her hair. Princess Alexandra had a nice french twist as well. Princess Martha-Louise looked nice in the amethyst tiara. Her curled dark hair-do made the tiara really stand out. Sophie, Countess of Wessex would have looked better had her bobby-pins not been sticking out. The idea though was flattering on her.

Special mention goes to M-T of Luxembourg. I like the way she wore the tiara. I also think that it looks really heavy and she wore that thing for at least 10hrs. So go M-T.

I voted for Maxima's. I really loved her tiara and hairdo for Victoria's wedding.

I thought Letizia looked absolutely amazing.
