I chose Martha-Louise. The amethysts really stood out on her dark hair and went beautifully with her gown.

I also really liked Queen Anne-Marie of Greece - the tiara was beautiful and her hair really complemented it.

Okay this is what I've managed to come up with: Maria Fredericksson Silfverschiold - nice hairstyle but it obscures her hair-piece; I didn't even realize she was wearing one until you pointed it out. Anyway its nice, matches her pearls.

Can you identify this lady (I'm assuming she's one of the cousins as well): Photo - interesting tiara

Waiting in line to go to the banquet with other cousins, kind of far away:

who's the young woman in the blue dress behind her, I think I might be able to come up with a picture of her as well. She seems to be wearing a very small bracelet? in her hair.

Sibylla Ambler, Margaretha's daughter:

I have the same picture, plus a rather blurry view of the back of the hair but she doesn't seem to be wearing any jewels in her hair.

unfortunately I couldn't find anything on these ladies.

I do plan to post pictures of several other ladies wearing tiaras, most of them I don't recognize. They're probably members of the extended SRF.

Thanks for the pics of Maria Silverschiold. The pearl-thing looks really nice in her hair, although it does not look like precious jewellery, imo.

The lady with the multi-coloured tiara is Countess Bettina Bernadotte, daughter of Count Lennart Bernadotte. Her sister-in-law Countess Sandra Bernadotte, née Angerer, is the lady in the blue dress with the ruby bracelet or necklace in the hair.

It would be really great if you could post pictures of other tiara wearers. I think there's enough combined knowledge on the TRF to identify them. I will now check my files and post some of the other tiara-ladies later.

I think the King's sisters weren't yet posted in this thread, so here they are:
Princess Christina with the six-buttons tiara http://inlinethumb21.webshots.com/25108/2076314900105578647S600x600Q85.jpg
Princess Brigitta with the nine-prongs tiara http://inlinethumb21.webshots.com/42452/2345695340105578647S600x600Q85.jpg
Princess Desiree with the amethyst tiara http://inlinethumb31.webshots.com/47454/2851789700105578647S600x600Q85.jpg
Princess Margaretha with her aquamarine tiara http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/46540/2455038180105578647S600x600Q85.jpg

Some relatives of the SRF:
Countess Gunilla Bernadotte http://inlinethumb34.webshots.com/47649/2466162710105578647S600x600Q85.jpg
Countess Marianne Bernadotte http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/34780/2555063200105578647S600x600Q85.jpg
Countess Jill Bernadotte http://thumb7.webshots.net/t/76/176/8/93/40/2821893400105578647RfHZml_th.jpg
I think the lady in the red cape is called Dagmar von Arbin http://inlinethumb35.webshots.com/38370/2689603860105578647S600x600Q85.jpg
Mrs. Madeleine Kogevinas http://inlinethumb03.webshots.com/45250/2453879830105578647S600x600Q85.jpg

Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister, I think she’s a lady in waiting to Queen Silvia http://inlinethumb23.webshots.com/23062/2229210270105578647S600x600Q85.jpg

I hope I didn't mix them all up:flowers:.

Humera, you are amazing! You actually exceeded my expectations. Based on what I was able to accomplish on my own, I was sure there wouldn't be anything clear or close-up on Maria Silfverschiold. I bow to your greatness! On that and your other posts, please refer to my posts in blue below:

Yes, I didn't realize it at first either, but most of the shots of her had her facing to her right which obscured the view. Thanks for getting such close and clear shots.

Can you identify this lady (I'm assuming she's one of the cousins as well): Photo - interesting tiara

This is Countess Bettina Bernadotte, daughter of the Lennart and Sonja Bernadotte and currently head of the branch that lives on and operates Mainau. The tiara was worn previously by Lennart's first wife Karin in the 1960s (?). It is the only time I have seen it other than this.

who's the young woman in the blue dress behind her, I think I might be able to come up with a picture of her as well. She seems to be wearing a very small bracelet? in her hair.

This is Countess Sandra Bernadotte, wife of Bettina's younger brother, Bjorn. They married in 2009. For her wedding she wore the "cuff-link" tiara usually seen on the Mainau women, but changed it for this bracelet (?) for her wedding reception. Although it is rather insubstantial, I think she look good in it and the blue gown is very nice on her.

I have the same picture, plus a rather blurry view of the back of the hair but she doesn't seem to be wearing any jewels in her hair.

I didn't think she had any adornment on her hair...but with that choker and rather ample cleavage, she really didn't need anything else. The style of her gown was...meh...but I really liked the color.

unfortunately I couldn't find anything on these ladies.

Actually, Kristina de Geer was the only one that I thought I may have seen something glittering on the back of her head (maybe during the cake-cutting footage) but it was from far away and hard to tell. Not crazy about her gown either.

I do plan to post pictures of several other ladies wearing tiaras, most of them I don't recognize. They're probably members of the extended SRF.

If you post others, I will try and do what I can to help identify. Until then, thank you again for your work in finding, creating, and posting these for all of us who follow the Swedish royals. I appreciate it very much.

I voted for Princess Letizia. Her hair was spectacular! I always like Princess Mary and she was wearing my favorite tiara. I almost voted for Queen Sonja. Love the emeralds and her hair is gorgeous.

Jill Bernadotte

Hi, Tilia C. Based on our pvt discussion, I uploaded this. When I opened your post, it came out like a thumbnail or avatar so maybe I did something wrong. Anyway, here is what I have, sorry it isn't as clear.

Thank you Rascal, it seems better than mine:flowers:. On your picture the tiara looks like it has pearls on top, so it matches then necklace.
Humera, you came up with a really good bunch of photos, thanks once again.

I just decided to vote for Mette-Marit, but it is a difficult choice because I like so many others as well. But I seem to be the only on who doesn't like Queen Sonja's hairstyle that much. The back looked fake and over the top to me. I like the added brooch, of course, but the rest was too much for my taste. And the colours of the added hair don't really match her real hair imo.

Bravo Princess Christina for being making the button tiara actually look good! I didn't think anyone could do that. Lovelove the color of the dress too.

Ella Kay at Mad Hattery referred to her looking like something out of Star Wars and now I too can't unsee it.

Kajsa Bernadotte

Humera (or anyone else who may be able to help), I don't know if you have come across anything clearer on her, but I have attached a screencap of a somewhat blurry profile picture of Sigvard's son, Michael, and his daughter, Kajsa. I'm fairly certain that she is not wearing in glittering jewelry in her hair (although if her father had not sold the ruby tiara to CG, she would have access to wear that tiara). If anyone has a more clear picture of her I would appreciate it. She is seldom seen at any events (the last being the Bernadotte reunion IIRC) and I think she is a very pretty woman. Does anyone have any info on her?

Thanks in advance for any info/pics/links!

I´ve voted for CPss Mary. She was wearing a tiara that her husband inherited from his swedish-born maternal grandmother. That´s a sweet touch

BTW. I really really really loved and adored CPss Victoria´s "arrow of cupid" in her hair to the concert the day before the wedding

Oh my- what a wonderful poll it was between 8 & 19 for me!

The last two ladies would be ladies in waiting I suppose. That is the official dress of ladies-in-waiting I think. Lovely photos Humera, you guys have gone the extra mile. I love seeing new jewelry and hair of course.

Thank you for all the great work getting these shots, Humera. I have identified almost all of them in your quote below:

Thank you Rascal and Tilia C. for the help. Here are some more pictures:
Countess Sandra Bernadotte
Countess Marianne Bernadotte
Mrs. Madeleine Kogevinas
Countess Gunilla Bernadotte

And now for the "unknowns" who I'm sure one of you will identify:
Photo 1 One of Silvia's ladies-in-waiting although I don't think she is a "regular" part of the rotation now. I don't know her last name but I think her first name is Elizabeth or Elisabeth. She escorted Silvia's brothers and sister-in-law during the procession to the church.
Photo 2 Andrea Brodin Engsall, one of Victoria's best friends since at least high school. Victoria is godmother to her daughter.
Photo 3 Louise Lyberg - one of Silvia's ladies-in-waiting. I'm not sure if she is one of the regular ones now but I know that she was assigned to assist the Dutch royals during the wedding fetivities. She "escorted" or walked behind WA & Maxima in the procession to the church.
Photo 4 Unknown to me, but it looks like she is wearing the same order/bow with initials that the ladies of the court all are wearing. Anyone?
Photo 5 Anna Maria Corrazza Bildt, wife of Carl Bildt, foreign minister and former Prime Minister of Sweden.

I have to mention these last two ladies separately because at first I thought they were one and the same, which they obviously aren't. They seem to be wearing the same dress though.
Photo 6 Christina Schwerin, one of Silvia's ladies-in-waiting. She assisted CP Mary during the wedding week.
Photo 7 Kirstin von Blixen-Finecke (not sure of the spelling) - one of Silvia's ladies-in-waiting - I think she is actually now Silvia's private secretary.

I hope that helps with the identifications. Sorry I couldn't get them all.

Thank you Humera for this wonderful tiara/hairstyle poll. I hadn't been able to view all of the ladies' hairstyles during the event so I appreciated the back views.

I voted for Mette Marit, but close behind were Letizia, Sophie of Lichtenstein, and Maxima.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing the additional tiara pictures. It's a miracle to me how you found them. Good on you!
And thank you, Rascal, for identifying these ladies!
Some of the tiaras are really nice, although none of these ladies can rival the royal ladies in our pol. I especially like the tiara of Christina Schwerin.

There is actually another lady in waiting I am trying to find a pic or screen cap for, Louise Torneman. During the pre-wedding concert she arrived with the Princes of Asturias, so I assume she was assigned to them, although I did not see any clear pictures of her on the wedding day. If I find one I will post and/or maybe Humera could get a more clear one.

Louise Torneman has at least two tiaras I have seen. One is small, possibly set in gold and appears to have pearls or maybe very small diamonds - it almost looks like a fringed bandeau. The other is a little larger and includes what appear to be either opals or very light turquoise stones, that is why I am interested in seeing which one she wore.

I found a pic of Kirsten von Blixen-Finecke with Louise Torneman on IBL. In this pic, Torneman (on the right) is wearing the tiara that I believe she wore to the wedding, although this photo is not from the wedding itself. It is the one I believe is opals or very light turquoise.

In addition, there was a woman who walked in with Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister and her husband. She was wearing a tiara, but I don't know who she is....anyone recognize her?

there were a couple of pics of this lady but she's in the background in all of them and very blurry so you can't really make out her tiara.

CP Mette Marit got my vote but IMO she tied with Queen Silvia with CP Mary right behind them...

And thanks for the photos of lesser know attendess wearing the finery, love it.

I can't choose between Letizia and MetteMarit...

If Letizia had her plaits little bit higher above her forehead and better tiara...
Mette Marit really romantic but I still feel that something is missing.

My vote goes to Mette-Marit who, IMO, looked romantic, young and yet royal. Most of the hairdos have been rather too modern (Letizia - though I liked the braids somehow) or too old-fashioned/kitschy (for CP Mary for example I would have wished something more young) for my taste. ;)

I also like Infanta Cristina's hairdo, Mathilde's (very elegant & regal) and surprisingly Sophie's very simple hairdo-tiara-combination.

May I ask a question? I've seen many ladies in the Swedish court wearing the same dress. Is it the uniform for LIW there?

Last edited by a moderator:
Yes, mellie. The dark blue gown with the criss-cross puffy sleeves is the official "uniform" of the ladies-in-waiting in Sweden. But they don't seem to wear them consistently. Alice Troll-Wachtmeister used to wear one. The woman whose name I don't know (the one in the green dress) I can only assume is - or was - a lady-in-waiting. The woman in the first pic - whose first name is Elisabeth - definitely was a lady-in-waiting. But none of them wore the uniform. There were four women in that uniform at the wedding that I know of:
Kirstine von Blixen-Finecke
Christina Schwerin
Louise Torneman
Charlotte Palmstierna (who I believe is the newest one).

Maybe the others are "retired" and helping out with this event as it was a bit more involved and larger than a state visit.

Thanks Rascal for the answer. I found it is a bit weird this uniform.
It is not ugly this dress but why do they need a uniform?

Mette-Merit really does look stunning in a tiara.

Some of the older ladies looked very nice, although their hair seemed out of date.

Princess Mathilde's hair was lovely, such a regal style (must have taken quite a bit of work). Her colorist does a great job, as well, but the tiara got lost.

Catharina Lindqvist

In addition, there was a woman who walked in with Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister and her husband. She was wearing a tiara, but I don't know who she is....anyone recognize her?

While looking at some footage from the wedding reception, I noticed this woman with Svante Lindqvist, the new Marshal of the Realm (since January 2010). After searching him, I was able to identify her as his wife, Catharina Lindqvist. I have no HQ photos of her tiara but it is definitely yellow gold with possibly small diamonds across the top.

Now I won't have that nagging feeling everytime I see a pic of her!

Is that lady in the pink dress and sash possibly a sister of the king of Sweden or could it be princess lilian.

Is that lady in the pink dress and sash possibly a sister of the king of Sweden or could it be princess lilian.

If you are referring to the woman with the glasses who was walking with Queen Silvia's siblings, she is Elisabeth Olsson, apprarently a LIW to Silvia from some years ago.

The other elderly woman walking the woman I identified as Catharina Lindqvist is Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister, Mistress of the Robes for Silvia.
