Congratulations to them! I admit that I was wishing for a girl, but as long as the baby is healthy, that is really what matters, isn't it? I wanted Maria-Olympia to have a little sister. I have said it before, I just like even families. I guess it is the middle child in me (I'm the third of five)

But at any rate,
Congratulations to Pavlos and Marie-Chantal!

So sorry to learn, it was again a boy! So bad luck once again. I so hoped this time it would be a cute little girl, but no. But the labours are over again, and all went well, that is always something to be happy. I am so sorry for little Maria-Olympia to be the only girl in the family of tree sons.
But anyway, congratulations to the parents! Better luck next time!

Happy anniversary to Anne-Marie and Konstantin

I wish a very happy 40th anniversary to the royal couple. I remember their wedding-day so well. That was the occurrernce, when I got interested in royals and especially in the Greek Royals. Until that time they have stayed my "special" Royals.
Or to speak to whole truth, it really was a few moths earlier, when I saw a beautiful picture of the young lovely couple in a paper...

Just a happy coincidense, Prince Pavlos and Maria Chantal got their new baby almost the same day as Pavlos' parents' wedding anniversary!

Anywere pictures of the new baby? The name of the baby has not been announced yet, I think?

Is the family of Prince Pavlos living in London, I seem read somewhere? I thought they were in the USA.

Crown Prince and Princess Pavlos moved to London a few years ago. I think that Maria-Olympia may be happy that the baby is a boy. That way she can still be the only daddy's girl

Thanks!

Thank you, Mybags, for the information. I seem not to have read, they had moved to London.

Congratulations to Pavlos and Marie-Chantal! It's always an exciting event when a new baby is born.

Why is it sad that the baby is another boy? Seems to me it's a great thing that the baby is healthy! It'd be sad if the baby were in poor health.

I think that people (myself included) were just really hoping for a girl, since the couple already have two boys. But you are right, as long as the baby is healthy and everything went well, that is the important thing.

I think that it is neat that the baby was born (almost) on Constantine and Anne-Marie's wedding anniversary. Now they will have two reasons to celebrate at once!

Always everybody is saying: "... the most important thing is, that the baby is healthy". That is true in a way, of course, but is it then really the MOST important thing! Every day there are lots of babys born, who are not healthy. And many parents have to take care of a baby, who is ill in a way or other. Paralysed, disformed, with heart diseases, blind, deaf, etc. And the parents, they'll manage with it, too, they have to.

Everybody hopes/wishes a healthy, rosy baby, but a baby born with an ilness is as big a gift as a healthy one.

I don't think this will be the last baby for them.

I don't think this will be the last baby for Pavlos and Marie chantal , looks that they love children and Olimpia needs a sister. the best wishes for the new baby, and God be with your'e family Pavlos and Marie chantal. Miaamor

Congratulations with love....

for the birth of Their fourth child!!May happiness escort Their lives, and God protect the Family of any evil!!

I KNOW MY KING AND MY QUEEN ARE HAPPY!!

So ,in cirtain areas here in Greece the Bottles of Russian and Sweedish and Scottish "spiritual"products will be opened anδ rivers of flowers will float over "singing musical πιστες".

Congratulations to Pavlos and Marie-Chantal!! Maria-Olympia will be the only girl with three brothers....(at least for the time being) Well, the baby is healthy, that's the main thing! Hope they will give him a Greek name!!

Congratulations to them ! :)
And you're right .... if the baby is healthy , no matter about his sex ....
And Maria-Olympia must be verry happy to welcome a new brother .... Why people say : poor Maria ... she will never know what is to live with a sister .. that'all (just like her mom doesn't know what is a brother etc etc ... )
I grew up with 3 brothers too ..... and I don't know what is it to grow up with a sister .. and I don't think about it ..... I think it will be the same for her .. she has 3 brothers, she will live with that .... that's all !!

Congratulations to Pavlos and Marie-Chantal!!!

As for names, do you think that they'll give him 'Robert' as one of his middle names (for Marie-Chantal's father)?

Anyone care to venture as to who the godparents of the new baby will be?
Here is a list of the other children's godparents, as I suppose that any of the people on the list will not be the godparents of the new baby:

Maria-Olympia:
Prince Charles of Wales
Princess Alexia of Greece
Pia Getty
Prince Michael of Greece

Konstantine-Alexios:
Prince Felipe of Spain
Prince Frederik of Denmark
Prince William of Wales
Princess Victoria of Sweden
Prince Nikolaos of Greece
Alexandra von Furstenberg
Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia
Doris Robbs

Achilieas-Andreas:
Infanta Elena of Spain
Princess Theodora of Greece
Prince Guillaume of Luxemborg
Prince Kardam of Bulgaria
Princess Rosario of Bulgaria
Prince Alexandre von Furstenberg

Okay here are my guesses. Definitely Prince Phillippos of Greece as he is the only one of the siblings who is not a godparent.
Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands, Infanta Cristina

I picked Haakon and W-A, because the other three have at least one (or in Tino's case three) crown prince or princesses as a godparent. The only one left off is Philippe of Belgium, but I don't think that the Greeks are very close with them? Anybody know?
I also picked Cristina because she and Pavlos are cousins, and she is the only sibling from the Spanish family not listed. I also thought about Joachim of Denmark for the same reason.

Anyone else have a thought on this?

How come there is no name for this baby yet? Do the Greeks wait for a long time before announcing the names of their children? Joachim and Alexandra waited until their children's baptisms before announcing the names of their sons. Is this the case for this Greek baby? I thought names were announced fairly promplty for them.

Yes you're right, for their first 3 kids they said the name just after the birth .. they didn't wait 'till the christianing to announce the name like Joachim & Alexandra !
Come on Paul & Marie-Chantal !!! I can't wait to know :D

The little boys name is Odysseus. AM and KC were interviewed for their 40th anniversary party and they told this information.

paloma, where did you read that interview?

:)

Odysseus is also called Ulysses in Greek. I wonder if the family will call him by both names.

Also, I think it's wonderful that the baby was born on his mother's 36th birthday!
