I think Grace makes the dress. I can't think of anyone in recent memory who pull this look off.
I love her, but I hate her. (DNA hog) :P

Some pics from Corbis of Grace and her sisters (plus family)...
1. Grace's elder sister, Peggy and her children
Grace with her family on the day she and Rainier became engaged. Sister Peggy is on the far right and is seated. Sister Lizanne is standing in the back on the right...
Grace and her younger sister Lizanne on "Lizzie's" wedding day....
Grace, Peggy, Lizanne and her husband Don Levine...
Grace and Rainier at an event in Monte Carlo. Lizanne can be seen in the background on the right hand side. Grace and Lizanne were quite close.

Thank you so much Julia for starting the topic and for posting the pictures. I agree with you, I think all the sisters look the same, but Grace is the most beautiful and stands out. :) I love 1950's style black and white photographs. It is something about it which has always fascinated me, its like a bit of time traveliing to another era.
Hope you have an incredible day, Miss Julia! :) :grrr:

Hello Miss Lorissa! How are you??
I have read in several books that Peggy was John Kelly's favorite and he made no bones about hiding this fact. He was apparently pretty hard on Grace. The ironic thing is that of all the children Grace looks the most like her father! Peggy looks like her mother and Kell and Lizanne are a combination of the two.
I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Julia

Great photo Kelly! Thankyou. I will try to find some press about the event online. Thanks again. :)

[COLOR=blue]Hi, I'm a new member and I enjoy very much your posts...I've got a question to ask: does anyone know anything about the american cousins of Caroline, Albert and Stephanie? I know Lizanne has a son Chris and a daughter, Grace who is very close to Caro? What about Peggy's and Kell's children? Thank you very much for your help...Kisses

Hi Grace and welcome! Glad that you enjoy the posts. We have a wonderful group of posters at LTR...they are always making things interesting. :)
Yes, Lizanne has a son Chris and a daughter Grace who was Caroline's Maid of Honor in her wedding to Philippe Junot.
Peggy had two daughters: Meg and Mary Lee. I believe that either Meg or Mary Lee visited Grace and family some when she/they were younger and (this is from Judith Balaban Quine's book "The Bridesmaids") one of the girls ran to Monaco to get help from Aunt Grace when she became pregnant out of wedlock. Peggy was married twice and an alcoholic.
Kell had two girls (if I am correct) and Grace was the godmother of one. There is a book (right now I cannot find it) called "Those Philadelphia Kelly's: with a Touch of Grace" and in it focuses on the other Kellys besides Grace. The author was quoted as saying that Grace's niece (Kell's daughter) was as beautiful as her aunt and quite bright.
I will post a pic of Meg and Mary Lee when they were flower girls in "Aunt Grace's" wedding and a pic of Grace attending the wedding of one of Kell's girls. I believe that Albert and Caroline spent a fair amount of time with their American Kelly cousins in the summers when they were younger. I don't know how much contact Caroline has with them now...

Julia, thanks a lot for the great information, I really appreciated it...As for the relationship between the Grimaldi and their cousins, Lizanne declared her daughter and Caroline are as close as she and her sister Grace were...I seem to remember Albert talking about his college years spent with his cousin...don't know anything else, thanks again

Hi Grace and Julia!
Welcome to the forum Grace!
I had no idea that Caroline was close to any of her American cousins. I knew that she and Albert had both spent time in the states when they were younger, but I had no idea that Caroline was close to any member of her mother's family. I guess that we really do learn something new everyday (or at least every week ). Does any one have any pictures of Caroline, Stephanie, or Albert with their cousins?

[COLOR=blue]I'm sorry, I don't have any picture of the Grimaldi with their cousins and I was very surprised too when I read Lizanne's words about her daughter and Caroline, but remember Grace, Rainier and their children used to spend almost any summer in the States during the 60s...thanks again for the reply...what about the pic of Caro's wedding with Junot? I'm so curious... :P ...
Kisses

I am going to try and scan the article written by Curtis Bill Pepper on Princess Grace in the December 1971 Christmas gala issue of Vogue. Here is the Princesse de Monaco "gracing" the cover....
Cover is described as follows: "H.S.H. Princess Grace of Monaco: the cool, impeccable blond-ness, the remarkably blue eyes - now, as in her Grace Kelly days, a standard by which classic American good looks are measured. (More about Princess Grace, her family, and her life in Monaco, starting on page 108)...The magnificent blaze of diamonds, from Van Cleef & Arpels."
Grace's famous profile as captured by Snowdon....
The living area of the palace that Grace redecorated....
wonderful photo of Albert as a young boy....
Caroline's profile captured by Snowdon...she is 14 in this photo...
Ok, my attempts to scan the Vogue article have been fruitless... I will have to type it up later!

I'm kinda new here...so hello everyone (I didn't say that in my first post, sorry).
Anyways, I just wanted to say how gorgeous Grace looks in those pictures. And to think that magazine was only a dollar. Wow, times surely have changed.
Caroline looks so pretty too. Wow, thanks for these wonderful scans. I wish my scanner was that good!

Hello MihoshiMarie! Welcome!
It is amazing that Vogue cost only a dollar back then, isn't it?? Looking back at issues like the one Grace was featured in makes me think that the magazine has gone down-hill. I am not as impressed with it now as I look back at what was published then! :(
Your most welcome for the scans...the photos by Snowdon are gorgeous!

Isn't it amazing, Sylvia? In that photo it could be Charlotte or it could be Caroline! Truly amazing!

Thanks. I wonder if Caroline and Charlotte go shopping together or something like that, or help eachother dress for official events. I can't do that w/my mom cos we don't look alike.
They are both so pretty. I think Vogue has way too much ads nowadays. I bought an issue in March of 2002 and roughly half of the magazine was all advertisements.

As Princess Grace grew older she highlighted her hair less and less (at least in her 40s) and then began highlighting again in her late 40's early 50s.
