The 38th International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo &"New Generation" Festival 2014

This is the thread dedicated to the 38th International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo
that takes place from January 16th - January 26th, 2014 at the Chapiteau de Fontvieille in Monaco!


This is the new colourful 2014 flyer/poster!


Following the Circus Festival there will be the third edition of the Festival "New Generation",
a competition for young circus artists. The winners will be awarded with the "Gold Junior", "Silver Junior"
and the "Bronze Junior" referring to the awards given at the original festival.

Princess Stephanie will act as President, Pauline Ducruet will be the President of the Jury.

The Festival "New Generation" will take place on February 1st and 2nd, 2014.

This year's festival has started today! Princess Stephanie, Prince Albert, Princess Charlene and Pauline attended the opening show this evening!

Definitely it's Pauline who steals the show! What a young beauty....
And P.css Charlene is just "washed" by too much black....

who on earth in 'stephane bern' anyway? a 'celebrity'? if so, then on a z-level.

does the festival itself not draw crowds any more, so they need to bring their own 'adulateurs'? or do they own him? :blink:

if it is succesful anyway, presenting 'celebrities' like him leave a bad 'arriere-gout'.

on a positive note: nice to see robert hossein is still up and running at his age. still a handsome man :wub:. and pauline is IMO a lot prettier than charlotte casiraghi.

It's not a new invention to invite guests of honours to the festival, it's been done for all the years the festival exists. The guests of honour have often been friends of the family, French artists, rarely kind of "big stars", so that one could assume that publicity was or is the main reason for the particular invitations. Stéphane Bern for example (a French journalist and TV presenter, a friend of the family and Knight of the Order of Grimaldi since 2011) also attended in 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010.

And needless to present Robert Hossein, a huge actor, writer, theater director, who also gave his voice on reading texts at late Prince Rainier's funeral.
 
Before I opened the pics from the festival, I just knew the ladies would all be in black and sadly I was right. Every year it's the same with just a few exceptions. It's a circus festival not a wake.

I agree, this hairlength suits her very well.
If only she could find a hairdresser that could make her hair look shiny and healhty.

That is a pity as Stephanie is Andrea's godmother.
 
Princess Caroline knew the dates of the festival du Cirque of Monte Carlo.
 
Princess Stéphanie and her daughter Pauline will not attend the wedding of Andréa, they are attending the new age circus this afternoon. ( see newscom).
