I have two questions. Why are there some years that everybody (PA, PC, PS, PE-A) dances and some years where none of them do? And why are there some years when they stop to have there photo as a family taken and some years they just walk right by? (Ex. :this year the stood under Grace's photo and last year they walked right by the red crosses with the silver background.)

Just curious!

Caroline´s dress was a huge disappointment for me, too much of everything. Charlene looked very beautiful in her lovely dress, I liked also her hairdo.

I have seen one on German TV. On their website they are describing their impressions Neue Nahrung für Hochzeitsgerüchte | DasErste.de

(it seems though that at the moment they have mixed up part of report from last year, as this year they claim that there wasn't anything between Albert and Charlene and that as they arrived neither Caro nor Steph bothered to look at Charlene. Also they said that she looked very bored most of the evening and they asked why he even bothered to take her as he wasn't paying her any attention anyways. They guessed that he needed a walker, but that doesn't really pass as explanation with me since he had Steph by his side.)

Other little info from Italian news videos: Caro danced as well, there was a huge screen in the Room showing pics of Grace at past Balls...

Does anyone have access to newscom? There are some great pics on their website of the ball, but I can only view them as thumbnails :( If someone could post them larger it would be nice. Thank you!

Wow, that is one messed up reporter! Both text and pictures are way off. Anastacia was his escort way back in 2005 as he had Charlene as escort in 2006. Charlene's description is from 2006. There's nothing in it from this year, apart from the one picture at the top.

& Caroline again in Chanel couture. The dress was to silvery for me & imo for her age, though the combination of the colors, silver/grey & oink looked beauiful. Its a pitty that Caroline & Stephanie seem to be always distnaced from each other on such evenings. Charlene & Stephanie looked great in white dresses..

Me too, I had to think of the wonderful pics in the 1990s with a happy and wonderful looking Steph dancing with Albert,
it's great that we got new ones like these

It's strange that they had that light problem, as normally after so many years and events at that location the organisation
and arrangements should be perfect...

I won't start any discussions about the dresses and styles, but I deeply hope that there won't be any magazine stories
with titles like " Charlene - the new Grace" that would be unfair, especially in this year..

I know. The original was a comment to the video. They usually publish the transcript, but apparently it takes some time. Silly, because other sites let you review the video. But Germans can check the other ARD stations to look out for a repeat until they manage to correct their mistake. The essence was though that there was no body contact, no looks or anything that would suggest a lovestory between the too. So they are wondering what is going on. And thy also didn't like the way Charlene was treated by the sisters, that they ignored her when she joined them. Apparently (from the video) Albert was already out of the car waiting with his sisters, while Charlene was about to get out (about 5 meters away from them). When she joined them there was no greeting or anything, they just walked in. The commentator found that rude and stated that she was there by invitation not by chance and that there should have been some kind of hello. After that they claim that she looked lost, uncomfortable and bored and said that since she has been with him for sometime now, she should have felt more comfortable then last year.

Actually that is absolutely not true; I've seen a video of the Family arriving and when CHarlene got out of Albert's car Caro was greeting Steph, who then greeted Charlene and they were laughing heartily. As much as I don't appreciate Charlene, I hate when reporters lie to back their opinions, it's unprofessional to say the least!

It is much more a big event for the media who are advertising it to make their daily bread than for most of us who are living here.

It was very noisy last night. The (double) fireworks coming from two different tug boats went off at 1.30 a.m. This wasn’t the end of the event as the music went on until very late in the night. More and more people living in Saint Roman or Larvotto areas are complaining about the noise and the smoke/pollution from the constant fireworks at the Sporting during the Summer for one reason or the other.

Of course we have a choice to live here -- and accept the fact that Monaco is not only a business area but also a party place -- or we can move somewhere else… but this territory is so small and the number of constructions so enormous with the surrounding mountains the noise goes about all over.

At times I myself would love to be at St Jean Cap Ferrat where life is so much more quiet. Like so many, I need to work to earn a living and keep a tight schedule.

Note to the readers: Please do not take my comments as an offense towards the Grimaldi family. They are young and on their own territory and they certainly have the right to live as they please.

Thanks for telling us about the tv report, paca, actually I do not agree with their comments about the behaviour of Steph and Caroline towards Charlene. Their were so many nice pics on the dancefloor where you could see Charlene having fun with Albert and Steph and there are some pics "behind the scenes" that show Caroline, Steph and Charlene talking and having fun,
take a look at these for example:

Caroline, Charlene and Steph 1 * * - 2

Yes, great to have a good cutter. The video I saw didn't show any greetings, but it was short, so I didn't mind that generally they cut things, but during the video they were commenting on her being bored at the same time they showed her dancing and laughing, so pics and comment were a bit off the rail. But I wasn't there so I have no idea whether the pics were just per chance that they were caught laughing and generally they looked bored with each other or like last year they were going overboard with their praise and saying how in love they looked and the family looked annoyed on most pics.

Yes they have been complaining for a long number of years. There was a petition a few years back asking to have it cut back a little. Monaco makes you really sick of fireworks. I always feel like bombs on Bagdad as the noise is much more were I live then at the actual site. And it is not only from Monaco but also Roquebrunne etc etc. IMO they should limit it to the festival. Have some big nice ones and that's it. The money is better spent elsewhere and when you consider the costs of yesterdays fireworks, how much good could have been done if the money would have been spent elsewhere instead of on explosives? A small firework costs about 10,000 Euros...

Actually on the first one Caro is talking with Steph, Charlene is further in the back looking towards Ernst and others in that direction, on the second the others seem to be getting ready to leave and she stays with the sisters. But you can't really tell anything, because she is just standing there as Caro is talking to STeph. I'd love to hear the conversation, because in the first pic Caro seems to be giving a sermon with her fingers pointing up while Steph is just amused (2nd).

Thanks for the pics Iceflower. I just thought those photos made her look much older than she is.

I see that Charlene has finally managed to find a dress that somewhat flatters her as well as being elegant. Hooray for her.

So dissapointed that the Casiraghi's weren't there. Caroline looked great as usual. Stephanie looked ok; I'm glad she was there. I really didn't like Charlene's dress so much but at least it was more elegant than most of the other dresses we've seen her in.

Was there a reason given about why they weren't there?

Thanks tbhrc. There is one pic of the table that I find interesting: although Charlene walked in with the family, she was seated further away from ALbert then last year. Albert seems to be totally surrounded by family: Steph and Antoinette at his side, Caro and Chris Levine opposite. I think tomorrow we might know a little more about who else was seated at the table. Further to the back where Ernst is seated I can see some palace staff and Melanie and Elizabeth-Ann. Very strange seating IMO.

Everyone looked good at the Red Cross ball. Even Charlene, who has been looking fine and fresh with each appearance this month. Whatever you can say about her, she holds herself well. I like what she did with her hair for the ball. Princess Stephanie seems good-natured about Charlene, whose presence rather (inadvertently, no doubt) stole her thunder at the Fight AIDS Monaco gala!
It was a nice touch with the Princess Grace tribute. Was Baroness Elisabeth-Ann de Massy there? She's always at the Red Cross ball. I saw her daughter Melanie de Lusignan next to Princess Antoinette, but didn't notice the baroness. Is she ok?
