Princess Grace

It was March 1981 that Princess Grace and Diana met up.
The photos of the two princesses together... are just incredible !

Grace & Family

Wonder how often Princess Grace came to England ? prob on private visits ?

How tragic that they both met the same fate... their young lives ending in car crashes .

They started their Royal careers as young and beautiful blonde women. Both were spectacular brides whose weddings were worldwide sensations. Both had were devoted mothers with troubled, difficult marriages.

Both met their fates prematurely in car crashes under mysterious circumstances. Their deaths shocked the world and the repercussions are still being felt in their respective families and countries to this day.

Grace came to England in her later years to give poetry readings which she shared with English actor Richard Pascoe . There are recordings of their performances. She also performed at the Edinburgh festival.

Not really sure where to post this and sorry if someone has already done so elsewhere:

Rita Gam, actress, former roommate and bridesmaid to Princess Grace, died yesterday.

:previous: Sad to hear another link with Grace has gone. I recall seeing her interviewed on several occasions in documentaries about Grace and in particular, her memories from the wedding.

Iv just heard a tape recording of princess grace talking about JFKennedy ..... How Jackie Kennedy pushed (her in a fun way ) to dress up as a night nurse and visit JFKennedy in hospital when he was ill and before he was president ..... It was really charming hearing her talk has any one else heard it

Albert has been so faithful to the upkeep of his mother's memory. I really appreciate his work along with (in the case of the Kelly home) his American counsin(s).

This story reminded me that a few years ago I seem to recall that Albert had mentioned creating a permanent Princess Grace museum based on the travelling exhibition. When the Napoleonic museum closed in the Palais and the contents sold at auction, I can recall a report stating that this was to make way for a future permanent space for Princess Grace collection. I am wondering if anyone has any further information about whether this is still likely to go ahead?
On a slightly different note, the wonderful automaton collection of dolls which used to be on exhibit in Monaco "disappeared" about ten years ago with the premises now hosting a series of temporary contemporary art exhibitions. Does anyone know what has happened to it?

there will be a Grimaldi princely family museum in a new building, inside there will be a part reserved to Princess Grace
I read an article about it last year in Monaco Matin.
Since this article, we have no more news
But I think it is a good idea to use the Kelly family house for the Princess Grace foundation. and for the princess Grace irish foundation, I think Princess Grace would be happy that her native house would use for these two foundations.

Thank you Melina premiere. I agree it is a lovely way to bring the two legacies together.

Thanks so much for the heads up eya...I had no idea CBS did a spot on Monaco and the Princess Grace Awards!:)

I get the impression that the changes hinted at when the Palais sold off the Napoleonic collection to reportedly make way for an exhibition of Princess Grace memorabilia is in the process of being realised.

I was disappointed that it was such a short insert, but enjoyed it nevertheless.
Like P Albert I too am amazed that so many people still remember P Grace. She must have been a remarkable woman to have left such a lasting impression on others. The P Grace Foundation and Awards and a permanent exhibition of memorabilia seem like a wonderful tribute.

P Albert is doing a super job in keeping the memory of his mother alive. Now, it seems, he also has the support of his wife in this. The P Grace Foundation was one of the beneficiaries chosen by P Charlene for the first Charity Mile horse race that took place over the weekend.

That woman was so incredibly beautiful it seems unreal at times. I find myself staring at her photos in disbelief.

RIP Princess Grace.

Ena took Grace under her wings didnt she?

:previous: Ena was one of only a handful of Royals who didn't look down on Grace in a snobbish way when she first married Rainier. Ena of Battenburg was a very grand dame and very Royal indeed but she seemed to have been a kind and down to earth lady above all.

Grace was grateful enough to ask her to be Prince Albert's godmother, and she accepted.

Whilst Grace wasn't perfect I find this story highly unlikely - it doesn't sound like the woman described by many other people.
