It was on some family occasion in 1999 for Rainiers 50 years of reign anniversary.

Yes I also think it must have been at an event for Rainier's 50th anniversary, maybe it was a kids breakfast since you can see some of them.
Although I also think it could have been in Dec. 1998 when the family posed for an official pic with Grace's painting (the last one) because Stephanie is wearing moreless the same suit she wore and hairdo.

I really admire and respect Rainier. He was a great ruler and an even greater man. Compared to some of the other royal father, he seems to be the one of the few who really cared about his children's happiness rather than the family diginity and royal protocal. I story about him and Prince Phillip just illustrate how much of a family the Monaco royals are. We have a saying in my family, we may not like each other, in fact we may dislike each other and occasionally hate each other, but we always love each other. They remind me of this.

Great pics, Townsend, I think I also got some of that day, but don't know where :) Seeing Rainier and Andrea so close is both hearttouching and funny.

monaco70s and Ianna - you are both very welcome!
In the picture with Caroline in it on the balcony, did you notice the puppy sticking his head through the railing? Very cute! Hmmm... has there been a thread with Monaco pets???

I read on an Italian popular mag that Princ Rainier has been proposed for beatification by Monaco's archibishop. I'm wondering if this is true. Does anyone know something more? Thanx in advance!
Ciao belli!

I think it could be just a rumor since I remember reading that when Princess Grace died they said the same thing of a beatification.
