Great pics! I think we only have to play here "The Way We Were" for this tribute to be complete.

Memories,
Like the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures,
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we? could we?
Memories, may be beautiful and yet
What’s too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it’s the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember...
The way we were...
The way we were...

Daddy's girl

Yes, me too. And as people already say it so sad esp. for Stephanie. But it will be hard for Prince Albert too. He got to replace a Great Prince that its almost impossible. (He will be a diffrent of course). He do not have any kids or a wife that can help him. I wonder if he will be alone now in his palais?? (with all the people that work there)

A family, a real family....

....
Rainier was always carrying a big wallet around...and it was not bank notes that made it big. It was a lot of photos of his 3 children and 7 grandchildren he aalways carrie withim. He showed these photos to everyone who wanted to see them - and to those who didn't want as well.
Once he took out a whole bunch of photos of Stephanie, Caroline and Albert as children after a chase in England and showed them to Prince Philip. The Queen's husband asked surprised: ' You always carry such things with you?' . Rainier answerd: ' Yes sure, you don't d this?' . Prince Philip laughed out loud and replied: ' No, of course not!'
' That's a pity.' Rainier said - and prince Philip only raised his shoulders...

....That's the difference....this Monaco bunch is a real family.

Prince Rainier's life in his own words..

This is a short review of Prince Rainier's editorial in Croatian popular magazine Gloria.

I translated one part of article to English using only my brain forces:), so I apologize in advance for mistakes.:o

Enjoy! He was truly remarkable person..

about Monaco...

«...when I become Sovereign Prince, Monaco wasn't identifiable in a way now is..For everyone, it was tiny country that earns on gambles, i.e. on gambling losses. At that time while reading some newspapers I was shocked with caricature showing gamblers throwing out from hotel window while people beneath with Monaco sign on their backs, collect their money. I didn't wan't to become ruler of caricature principality...» so Prince Rainier took everything in his hands making Monaco as we know it today..

about family...

«Unique magical «formula» for raising children is; give them lots of love..» Prince Rainier knew what lies beneath these words. He and his older sister Antoinette were actually raised by their strict British nanny-Kathleen Wanstall. Thanks to her, English language become their second maternal language. «We were actually raised by our nanny. With parents we used to met at 5 o'clock in the afternoon and then only for one hour..»

Prince Rainier shared memories on his grandfather, Prince Louis II. of Monaco..» My grandfather had never punished me. He was my friend, to whom I was able to say all my secrets knowing he would keep it for himself.»

about his wishes and family again..

«As a child I wanted to be lion trainer or clown in big circus, but most of the time I was dreaming of sailing the whole world while exploring sealife of whales and dolphines.»

« I never wanted to force my children to anything. Today is most important to me that they know no matter what happen, or whatever they do, my door will be always open to them. I think they are aware that their truly family haven is in my palace...»
