No, Rita Hayworth married ALI Khan and not Agha Khan. Agha Khan is a title, and Rita's Hayworth husband called Ali Khan, was the son of the Agha Khan who married the Yvette and never become Agha Khan. I think it was Ali Khan's son who become, and still is the actual Agha Khan. Ali Khan's brother (from another mother) was Prince Saddrudin Khan, the famous ecologist, who died from cancer a couple of years before.

Thanks for correcting me, as always!

The man in this picture is Karim the current Aga Khan, and the lady is his first wife (the then Begum) Lady Sarah Crocker Pole, that changed her name in Salima, when marrying Karim, as she converted to Islam. I can't tell if she's still a Begum... Also Renate Thyssen-Henne, a.k.a Inaara, for the above mentioned reason, divorced Karim

Karim's half sister is Princess Yasmine, Rita Hayworth's daughter. He's very poular in Italy, as in Sardinia he created the "Costa Smeralda" (Emerald Coast), a very exclusive seaside resort.

I can't recall of Karim or Yasmine attend any Rose or Red Cross Balls. It would have been interesting to see the daughters of two of the most popular and beautiful American stars being side by side. Yasmine was a beauty as well, back in the '70s.

I remember Princess Yasmine. She is the one who brought media attention to Altzeimer's disease because her mother had it, isn't she ? The first one even, before Reagan was affected. And I remember she was very beautiful.

Yes, she's been fighting Altzheimer since when her mother developed it. She was beautiful indeed. It's a shame she didn't appear that often on mags. She has a son of her first husband. She divorced and then remarried.

You are welcome my dear.

Anyway, this is the purpose of this Forum, to complete our knowledges, if if sometimes we hve to put some corrections.

I think we have discussed the Aga Khan (both of them), and their wives, and their children in great detail. Let's get back to topic.

They are similar in appearance. Blond hair, nearly the same haircut. But Grace is more beautiful!!!

You are right about that, tdarlene, it's quite surprising if you look at that pic..

Thank you so much for these great pics, flowerpower! :)

I love the one with Sofia of Spain, do you know when and where it was taken? And the one with Prince Philip
is also great, I wonder what kind of joke was made - the Duke of Edinburgh always has and had his special humor ;)

Here's a pic of Grace together with Shirley MacLaine:

Great pics everyone :)

I think the pic of Princess Grace with Queen Sofia was taken somewhere around 1974-1975. The pic with Prince Phillip is from his 1968 visit to Monaco.

Thanks a lot for the additional information, Monacos, and for that nice pic, Romy!

My God -- imagine Caroline's stress level being pictured next to your middle-aged legend of a mother still looking like that ...

Thanks iceflower for that splendid pic.

This photo also shows that Caroline inherited her mother's spectacular bone structure. She may have her dark, Mediterranean Grimaldi features (not bad at all, to say the least), but what makes her spectacular is the Kelly facial structure.

Great photo! That looks like the dress that she wore to the nanny's wedding, I think it was 1991? Where she was pictured with the children and with Stefano's parents?

Placido reminds me of Vincent in this photo!

A little bit of gossip about these encounters. From "The Star", no less ! Needless to say, I don't know whether the information is true or not !

"The matching necklace, ring and earrrings that Caroline wore when dining with Charles, as shown in our cover photo, were bought for $2,200 from the Givenchy Boutique in Paris, and are aquamarine and crystal.
The silk organza dress, also from Givenchy, cost $1,200. New York shoppers can buy the same at Bergdorf's."

The Star article goes on to say that the event was the 50th gala celebrations of the charity fund-raising Variety International, to be attended also by Henry Kissinger, Cary Grant, and Roger Moore. But Caroline had planned to attend the function with Junot. And just 72 hours before the royal summit they were dancing into the dawn at a Paris disco. (...) In defiance, Caroline stayed in Paris until the last moment with Junot driving her to the airport. As a result, she arrived too late to escort Charles to their first function at the rooftop grill of Monaco's Hotel de Paris."

Now, I don't know if it is the same event, it seems to be because of the clothing described, but the story is so different, but back when Caroline gave interviews, this is her version : (a very rough translation, from "Elle", I believe):

"He came here for an event for the handicapped and the year of Childhood, and Albert and he and I had spent the day waterskiing, in the cold. It was Easter. At 5, we went home to change, we were soaked, my hair sticky with salt. The hairstylist was waiting for me to make me a chignon and put a ribbon matching my gown, a gown (makes a face)... Because I was not very interested in clothes, or only in what brand of jeans I wanted to buy, maman took care of me for all the big events... and she had chosen this gown (makes a face), like a stick of barley sugar, striped, pink-mauve, pale pink, white pink. I looked like a piece of candy in it with the matching ribbon in my hair (laughter) and my hair done, my make-up. They had put jewelry (gestures to show everywhere). (...) When I arrived in the hall in that get-up, Prince Charles said to me (in English) "My God, (reverts to French), whatever happened to you ? You look like a gift package!" I was so ashamed, so ashamed... (smiles)"

Iloveroyals I love your info on Caroline encounter with Prince Charles! :):)
About the fact that she (caro) hated the dress is absolutely true, she did comment that she look like a candy box!!
About her fabulous matching neclace, ring and earrings, I don’t think they are from Givenchy, as they are not Jewelers, I think is Bulgari and it’s a gift from her parents when she made 18 years old (Caro wore it for the first time in RCB 1975) see pic (personally I thing this matching naclace BEAUTIFULL)
The day she wore the pink dress she never smiles, something unusual in Caroline!
But in the other encounter were she is wearing her red dress, she looks all smiles….
I remember that the press and everybody wanted to married Caroline and Charles… but they are so opposites it’s was mission impossible:ohmy:

I had not thought about that dress before you've mentioned
it, lea, but now I also think that it could be the same dress
she wore again in 1991, so she kept it for more than 10 years :)

Yes, I think "The Star" got their stories (or encounters) a little bit mixed up, and I agree with you about the origin of the jewels. They must have figured, "Who will be able to sort it out from the United States?"
I want to post other pictures -- at least 3 encounters with Charles-- (and article and interview excerpts) but am having a bit of a problem. We'll try to put the pieces of the puzzle together ! The "parure" (necklace and earrings) is gorgeous !

I've always wondered if they have rooms dedicated to wardrobe storage at the palace. From the exhibition we know that Princess Grace kept her dresses, and we've seen Princess Caroline wear dresses more than once. But this was the first example I remember of her wearing a dress from that long a span of time. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised that they keep them, if they gave them away you might see them in the press. "Waitress wears Princess Caroline's gown to dinner party" or so the headlines might read. (Or worse..)

I've also wondered if we would ever see Princess Stephanie in one of her mother's gowns for a photo shoot to benefit her charity. But I don't know if they fit her, Princess Stephanie seems more muscular than her mother was.
