A little off-topic, but I'll just put my two cents in.

King Albert did father an illegitimate daughter in (I think 1968) and had a relationship with her mother for 18 years. Now that's a pretty long time. The younger son of Queen Paola is Prince Laurent (born 1963) and I doubt that he's not the son of King Albert because Prince Laurent (in his younger years) looked like his brother and his father.

That young lady is Melanie de Lusignan, Princess Antoinette's grandaughter. Melanie's mother is Baroness Elizabeth Ann de Massy (Prince Rainier's niece), and she is usually with family on official events like Rose Ball, Red Cross Ball and others..

:) Thank you for your response! I was wondering which Bible translation was read, i.e., King James Bible, the Living Bible, Amplified Bible, ....

It really Would have been nice to see Louis standing with his Uncle and Pauline with Caroline and little camille. I read that Caroline was joking with Pauline that would have been nice to see because you never see/read any Pics or stories with Caroline and Stephs kids.:) Maybe when Louis and pauline get older well see them more .

My general impression I gave on page 11 or 12 on this thread. If you like you can follow the service at palais.mc. They haven't released it yet (it was promissed for MOnday but last time it was late too, so it's going to come out possibly lster today or tomorrow). It is te TMC version, which is usually a bit better informed (though they also claimed that Father Kelly is a relation) then the rest of them. Besides they don't babbel into the music. Main music was Schubert, Bach, Mozart and Haendel. The rest was regular lithurgy and monegasques variations and of course the prayer for the prince that seems to have the same effect on our sovereigns family as the ringing of the bell to Pavlovs dog's mouth .

well, the rumour was about Laurent, the younger son. There was so much noise about it that even some news magazines were picking up on it, not just the yellow press.

Well I think all the ladies (and gentlemen) pulled their outfits off very well this time! Especially C,C & S. Stephanie looked fab in that olive outfit it looked great with her complexion... and I loved Charlotte's Chanel opera dress... I know a lot of people didn't like it but I though it looked wonderful...

Paca, what was Andrea's speech about? Did he read one of the passages from the bible?

It was 1 Kings and it was read in French. Translation in the program in English starts with: So God said to Salomon:" Because you have aked for this - not for a long life for your self, nor for rices, nor for te life of your enemies, but for understanding so that you may know what is right - I do as you requested.....<<that's what she posted in the thread.

I was watching one of the news videos that showed a little of the mass. Both Stephanie and Caroline were crying, and Albert reached over and touched Stephanie in a supportive way. When I saw that, it occurred to me that this must have been a bitter-sweet occasion for them. It is a celebration of Albert's new role, but it is a reminder of their father's death, which brought about the occasion.
