Both his grandmother and great-grandmother,Juliana and Wilhelmina have visited Mount Vernon during WWII while Juliana & Wilhelmina visited the Rooseveldts,as Juliana was in exile in Canada and visited the US on a regular bases to get support as did Wilhelmina every time she flew over to see her daughter and granddaughters.

It's nice to see Laurentien and the children again - I agree with acdc1, they're all growing up so fast! I wonder though, if Claus Casimir feels outnumbered sometimes growing up in a family of girls :D

Laurentien is on a two-day visit to Japan from today till tomorrow, November 24. The main reason is her attendance at a ceremony in honour of the completion of the Omotemonbashi bridge of Dejima in Nagasaki. She will attend that ceremony on behalf of the Dutch government tomorrow.

Today she visited the Fukuoka-2 monument in Nagasakim, the Dutch Cemetery at the Goshinji Temple, the monument that marks the hypocenter of the atomic bomb explosion in Nagasaki at the Hypocentre Park, as well as the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. In the evening she attended a concert of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra also in Nagasaki. This concert was organized on the occasion of the completion of the above mentioned bridge:

The children wear shirts with the text 'waterspaarder', so this is part of the initiative to teach children (and by them also there parents) to limit their water use - for example when taking a shower. If I'm not mistaken this initiative was launched by Laurentien (and others) last year - see for example: this video as part of her many efforts in the area of sustainability/conservation of our planet (through the Missing Chapter Foundation).
