Princess Mako's official visit to Brazil is tentatively planned for about 2 weeks in mid-July to mark the 110th anniversary of Japanese immigration. The agenda includes commemorative events in Sao Paulo and Paraná State, paying a courtesy visit to the President, and meeting Japanese Americans. This will be her 4th foreign visit to a 5th country.

CP Naruhito visited Brazil for the 100th anniversary in 2008.

Besides the ball relay in photos and video, Prince Hisahito participated in kibasen (cavalry battle) and hurdles. He made bulletin notices and set up flower beds for sports day. He also acted as "summary officer," assisting first year students.

An update on preparations for Princess Mako's visit to Brazil: confirmed visit to Marília on July 22.

Imigração japonesa no Brasil: Prefeitura confirma vinda de princesa a Marília | Noticias de Marília | G1 (Google translation below)
Quote:
[…] "The expectation was great, but now we have the confirmation. We will have the honor again of receiving a representative of the royalty of Japan visiting our city. We want to establish partnerships with a first world country to further develop Marília," said Mayor Daniel Alonso.

The only time the council received an authority from Japanese royalty was in 1958, when Prince Mikasa planted an ipê in the garden of the municipal palace.

[…]

The idea of the group that was discussed at the meeting is for Princess Mako to visit the city hall and plant a yellow Ipee, similar to her relative 60 years ago, and also watch a taiko presentation at the municipal theater. Probably she will have agenda in the cities of Lins and Promissão. […]

Princess Kako of Akishino, 23, appeared for a press call at the University of Leeds to mark the end of her year as an exchange student in the city.

But she did not answer questions about her time in Leeds – leaving reporters to wonder whether she had squeezed in a trip to watch football at Elland Road, sampled cricket at the nearby Headingley ground or had even heard of the famous students’ bar crawl known as the Otley Run.
It seems a bit absurd to hold a press call in Leeds, marking the princess's year in Leeds, and refuse to tell the press about her time in Leeds.

Her look here is surprisingly different from her appearance at official events, and fits in with her friends.

Is that a recent photo of Kei Komuro and his mother near the bottom of the page?

I think that's normal for an IHA managed event. Was there much about Princess Mako's time in Leicester? All I remember was the usual choreographed look-and-discuss-some-object-no-questions. A reporter dared to throw a question at Mako as she was leaving (?) and was snapped at by an IHA official.

Princess Kako returns to Japan on June 15th. She traveled to Spain and Portugal during spring break in March with friends she met at Leeds. [Asahi]

The photo of Kei Komuro and his mother is said to be recent. Mrs Komuro has changed a place of employment.

Unfortunately, you are extremely accurate. Do you remember if the reporter who was snapped at by the IHA official was Japanese or foreign? The IHA also chastised a (foreign?) reporter in 2010.

Quote:
The spokesman said she would be subject to normal security protocols in Dublin but would otherwise be expected to mingle with other students. Will she be allowed to go out with Irish boys? “That’s not the sort of irresponsible question I can answer,” he replied testily.

None of Japan’s modern royals has ever dated a foreigner. During a debate on imperial succession in 2006, former trade minister Takeo Hiranuma sparked controversy when he warned that Mako’s first cousin, Princess Aiko, could sully the family’s 2,600-year bloodline by going abroad and marrying a “blue-eyed foreigner”.
