Princess Kiko first met Prince Akishino at a bookstore in Gakushuin University when the Princess was studying Psychology and the Prince, Law. The Princess was introduced to the Prince by the owner of the bookstore. The Princess was also a member of the Prince's interest group.
The Prince proposed to the Princess at a pedestrian crossing in 1986. Princess Kiko always smiles that Kiko-chan-smile was named after her. Young, pretty, softly-spoken and with a warm smile, she quickly captured the love of Japanese people after her engagement with Prince Akishino was finally announced in Jan 1990 and they were finally married in June 1990. Now Princess Kiko is almost 40 years old but she is still sooo pretty and sweet. I think the quality of her skin is almost flawless.
