According to Asahi, this was a private visit using Prince Hisahito's summer holidays. They visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum for an hour afterward. Then, the prince listened to a survivor who was 7 years old at a nearby hotel when the bomb dropped. He thanked her for speaking.

It isn’t, his mustache has just gone unevenly grey and looks weird in this photo. But that would be an interesting development for a Japanese royal

As you can see here, he colours his hair

Prince Akishino will be honorary president of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Japan's organizing committee and IHA coordinated to ask Prince Akishino as he will be Crown Prince next year and the significance of the first rugby world cup to be held in Japan (and first in Asia). He will attend the opening ceremony on September 20 next year and the first match between Japan and Russia.

The Imperial family's history with rugby: Prince Chichibu and Prince Tomohito served as president of Japan's Rugby Association. The Emperor and Empress have watched Japanese rugby championships and national team performances.

Princess Kiko will privately visit the Netherlands October 23-28. On the 24th, she will attend the opening ceremony of the 49th Union World Conference on Lung Health; on the 25th, she will attend the Prince Chichibu Memorial Tuberculosis Prevention Award ceremony. She will become honorary member of the International TB Lung Disease Prevention Federation, recognizing her outstanding achievement in TB prevention on the 26th. A symposium and museum visit are also scheduled during her trip abroad.

Sources: Jiji, Sankei, Mainichi

Maybe she won't meet any Dutch royals since this is a "private" trip.

ETA: Good photos and report from this blogger. He and his wife went to the flower exposition but didn't know about the royal visit. They were upset at the various closures and 1 hour wait time at first. However, all was forgiven when the prince and princess appeared.
