Today, April 6, Prince Akishino visited the area in Hiroshima Prefecture that was hit by mudslides in August 2014, 74 people were killed back then.

On May 20 Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko visited Kongobuji Temple and the Koyasan Reihokan Museum of Mount Koya in Koya, Wakayama, the followig day they attended the 'Kechigan Hoe' ceremony at Kongobuji Temple in Koya, Wakayama.

Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko attended the annual memorial service at Tokyo's Chidorigafuchi National Cemetery on May 25. The cemetery is the national Japanese cemetery for unknown war dead in the World War II.
