Princess Astrid on Economic Missions: 2013 -

Princess Astrid has started her first economic mission representing her brother King Philippe today, October 20.

She'll be in Angola and South Africa till October 26, 2013.

The mission is organized by the Agency for Foreign Trade in collaboration with the regional foreign trade (Awex, Flanders Investment & Trade, and Brussels Invest & Export).

On the second day of her journey Princess Astrid today, October 21, visited the Lucrecia Paim Hospital for the GSK Vaccine's Event and the Mausoleu de Agostinho Neto in Luanda, Angola, And she met with Angolan Vice President Manuel Domingos Vicente.

Prior to Princess Astrid's second economic mission at the end of this month (to India from November 23rd - November 29th), a reception by the Belgian Agency for Foreign Trade was held in Brussels yesterday, November 6, 2013.

Economic mission to Saudi Arabia and Oman, March 2014

Princess Astrid is on an economic mission to Saudi Arabia and Oman from March 15th to March 21st.



Yesterday, March 15, Astrid and Vice-Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, attended a welcome ceremony and an information session for the Belgian delegation.

On day 2, March 16, Princess Astrid attended the opening session of 'Saudi Arabia at a glance' at the Council of Saudi Chambers, she was present at a signing ceremony by GSK Vaccines, GSAL & Arabio and she participated in the official opening of the AGFA Healthcare Saudi Arabia Office.

On day 3 of the mission, March 17, Princess Astrid inaugurated the Katoen Natie Khonaini in Jubail Industrial City II and attended a meeting with Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Ladies of the Econmic Mission complained that they did not have the same place, could not do the same business as the gentlemen !

Economic mission to Colombia and Peru - October 2014

.

Princess Astrid currently is on an economic mission to Colombia and Peru from October 18th to October 25th. Vice-Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders and a business delegation are travelling with her.

On day 3 of the mission, October 20, Princess Astrid and the delegation were received by Colombian Republic President Juan Manuel Santos Calderon, they visited Ecopetrol, attended an Agoria power luncheon on energy and power generation, opened the Experience Light Center of Delta Light and attended a signing ceremony between Exmar and Pacific Rubiales Energy.

I read the program and it's really full of meetings, visits and ceremonies. A very busy time.
I believe that the princess and the delegation are doing a good job and hopefully the mission helps to create opportunities for Belgian companies.

On October 23, day 6 of the journey, Astrid was welcomed by Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso and his wife, she received the key of the city from Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Lima, gave the decoration of the Commander of the order of the Crown to Salomon Lerner Febres and visited the National Institute for Neoplastic Diseases (INEN) in Lima.

Princess Astrid has started an economic mission to Malaysia and Singapore from November 22nd to November 28th.
