The event was intended to increase the network of global malaria champions by bringing together new and unique
partners from various sectors and to join efforts to overcome malaria.

As part of her commitment in the fight against malaria Princess Astrid has visited the Faculty of Medicine of the "Faculties Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix de Namur" on the occasion of its 50th anniversary on November 17, 2012.
She attended an academic conference and the presentation of an honorary doctorate to Dr. Joe Cohen.

Princess Astrid has visited the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerpen on November 28, 2012, within the framework of her commitment to Roll Back Malaria.
