Maybe I have not been paying attention or the press just doesn't cover her as they might cover other royals, but I never knew that Astrid performed so many royal duties.
Good for her!

I think the foreign press outside Belgium does not pay particular
attention to Princess Astrid, which is a pity. As far as it concerns
the German press, I remember reports about her family life in the
1980s, but that has come to an end with the 1990s.

Is the editorial of his website royalty-online, 'weekend royalty' editor Marc vand er Linden discribes the press conference that pricness Astrid gave about the fight against Malaria recently. It was said that the princess would not reply to questiuons, so she read a statement. However the princess was obviously full of good ideas and very enthausiastic about the project. After the press conference the journalist talked to princess Astrid, who started talking with passion about the topic, in perfect Dutch!

I like the way you emphasize her "perfect Dutch". It would be shameful if it wasn't good, she studied in Leiden for a year.
Though, of course, Dutch and Flemish...

The pics from March 28 and the ones belga has dated
with March 31 look so similar, could it be that's it's all
been from the hospital visit on March 28?
Princess Astrid meets Saudi Arabia's Finance Minister
Ibrahim al-Assaf in Riyadh March 29, 2009.
Princess Astrid is in the country to urge the government
to join and support an international program aimed to
combat malaria, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

I thought the same thing, but you'd assume an agency like Belga would be carefull enough about these things...

Some time ago they've filled their stock with many old pics from the
last years and dated them as if they were new, so I'm not sure..
Besides that: how long did or does she stay in Saudia Arabia, Qatar and
the UAE? Seems I've missed that information.
