Lovely to see almost the entire family together.
Especially Amedeo and Maria Laura, long time no see.

Exactly: almost the entire family. Does anybody know why Princess Luisa Maria was missing? She is currently attending the Sevenoaks boarding school in Great Britain but didn't their summer holidays already begin? And what about Prince Joachim's (maternal as well as paternal) grandparents? Maybe they were present at a private celebration afterwards...

I heard that princess Luisa-Maria participates every year to a camp with a youth movement in July, that is why she is absent. But no official source confirmed this information, at least not to my knowledge.

You're question is from very long ago, I'd just noticed now. Better late than never. My view is: the use both. Sometimes also von Belgien. German is our 3th official language. Amedeo was in Sevenoaks with the name: Van Belgie... So I think they try to use them both as much as possible.

Thank you for the information.
Congratulations to Prince Joachim on this achievement; I am glad he continued the proud tradition of serving in the Navy or the Army.
On a different note, the Prince looks very handsome in that uniform. And you can see just how proud the Queen and Princess Astrid are.

Great pictures and video!
You could see how cold those poor officers were; they were all shivering! In this picture it almost looks like the Prince is waving to someone, until you watch the video and see that it was actually his (second) unsuccessful attempt to catch the flag.

Thanks for the photos and video.
Brave men in that rain!
The prince looks very handsome. I love the picture where he catch the flag and the one of the Queen looking to her daughter, smiling Beautiful moments...

Poor prince, in the rain. And he had to speak in German, French and Dutch, the other militaries only in their birth language... Really great pictures! I'm happy to see they are a happy family together :)
