I also think that Princess Astrid has made great choices by
supporting these very important themes and I think she
does it very well :)

celebration on the occasion of the canonization of Father Damien
on Sunday 18 October 2009. Cardinal Daneels was also present.

Princess Astrid looks wonderful, it's clear, she's in the good mood, her smile demontrates it.:)
I love her light chocolate coat, her image remindes me the fashion magazines of 80s, for instance, Burda.:flowers:

As said Iceflower , she represented perfectly our Royal Family. What she is wearing is nothing, but have you seen her smile; on the contrary of her mother the Queen, Astrid is always in the good mood.

Once more she showed her great mood today, sometimes it doesn't
matter what you wear...Her look today was nice again, I think :)

Thanks for the picture Iceflower.

One question, does Princess Astrid and her family live in the palace of Laeken?

No, they live in a Villa very close to the Castle, I guess in the very same park of the Castle of Laeken.

:previous:
Their villa is near the Castle of Stuyvenberg where Queen Fabiola lives. But this villa and Stuyvenberg and the Castle of Belvedere, where King Albert and Queen Paola live, and the Palace of Laken, where Prince Phillip and Princess Mathilde live [and where the beautiful "Serres of Laken" are] are situated rather near to each other in Laken.
Only Prince Laurent and Princess Claire live on a rather long distance of their family, at the opposite side of Brussels.

Do you mean that you guess its in the same campus where the palace of Laeken is?

Yes the Domain iof Laeken is very big. The Belvedere Castles and the homes of Fabiola and Astrid and Lorenz are on the other side of the street then then Palace and greenhouses. But Astrid and Lorenz House is closest to Stuyvenberg the residence of Fabiola.

You can check this thread for more info of where they live.

From December 1st till 5th Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz are
in Colombia in order to attend the second Review Conference of
the Landmark Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling,

Just a thought:

This last pictures of Princess Astrid at the snow reminds me one video clip of Elton John "Nikita".

Rumour has it Princess Astrid will be the new honorary President of Damiaanactie - Action Damien, taking the place of Queen Fabiola who resigned from the post because her health was too fragile to continue.

article in French (la libre belgique) and Dutch (nieuwsblad)

This weekend, the yearly charity action of the organization will start again, and presumably they will officially introduce their new Honorary President.

It is not a rumour anymore I think. It is confirmed on the website of the Belgium Monarchy:

Présidence d'Honneur de l'asbl Action Damien

La Reine Fabiola a souhaité être déchargée de la Présidence d'Honneur de l'asbl Action Damien. La Princesse Astrid a accepté de reprendre cette fonction.

[The English version of the website don't give the agenda where this message is published]

Indeed! Only yesterday I couldn't find an official statement yet. :D
