Seems Princess Astrid is quite busy with offical engagements
these days...:)

Princess Astrid attended the prize-giving of the 10th annual
prize "Armoede Uitsluiten" (Exclude Poverty) organised by the
Flemish organisation "Welzijnszorg" at the Palace of the Nation
in Brussels, Belgium, May 27, 2009

Smiling Princess Astrid.
She works hard altough she have 5 children of different ages..

This time the outfit of the princess was unfortunate: that jacket need a one-color dress, that dress looks as an advertisment for chanel (no problem if an actress wear it but she must have an institutional profile and a "princely idea" of fashion should not enphatize trademarks and griffes: chanels make wonderful things also without that exibition of the griffe, as the jacket itself, and you always recognise it is a chanel). Finally, that dress makes pearls useless

They were attending the awards ceremony of the "Price P.J. Redouté", a literary award. The event took place at the Chateau du Lude, in France.

:previous: I think she is baptising the roses, with the contents of the [champagne ?] bottle. [Don't know, do roses like that, champagne?]

:)Or maybe she shares some knack of her mother about roses with the other persons on the picture. [Look, my mother always told me.....]

I have seen pictures of Queen Paola baptising a rose with her name, but it was clear that she did that with water.

Anyway I like it to see that also a princess happens to water plants as I often do, most of the contents of the bottle goes next to the flower pot.:)

Thanks principessa! Sadly no photo of the princess at any picture agency. Apparently the event was organized by the Belgian community in Geilenkirchen.

The posts concerning Astrid & Lorenz house, villa Schonenberg, have been moved to the 'Belgian Royal Residences' subforum and are merged into the thread about the villa. Click here.

You are right, Princess Luisa Maria was born on October 11, 1995,
but I'm sure she was compensated with a wonderful birthday
celebration and has understood that a women's forum can also be
something very important :)

Last week Princess Astrid was in Germany. She attended
a ceremonial act to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the
International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in Bonn, Germany,
04 September 2009. Also among the guests was Prince Albert
of Monaco.

Here's a group picture with several other representatives:

Oostduinkerke is famous for shrimp fishing, which is done on horseback. The Princess was also welcomed by some traditional shrimp fishermen, as you can see in the pics.

I like to see our royals are doing so much to put this disease in the spotlight, as it touches so many families every day.

Thanks for the additional information, LadyLeana,
I was already wondering what some of the pics had
to do with the hospital, but that explains it all :)

Princess Astrid visited the neurobiology and gene therapy
laboratory of the Molecular and Cellular Medicine department
at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Leuven, Belgium,
October 1st, 2009.

I like the fact that Astrid concentrates that much on this
medical issue-area!

As a colonel in the medical department of the army, and former President of the Belgian Red Cross, the Princess was always the one who undertook medical-related visits in the Belgian royal family. I'm glad to see her out and about so much.

Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz were at the EORTC Gala in Monaco, hosted by HSH Prince Albert of Monaco. CP Victoria of Sweden was also there.

The Princess, who is honorary President of the EORTC (European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer), gave a speech at the gala.

I quite like what P.Astrid supports, I dont follow her much but from time to time and she tends to do alot with poverty, hunger and the poor.
She looks nice in the pictures, looks quite cold at the moment.
