Princess Claire gives birth to healthy baby twin boys
BRUSSELS — Princess Claire gave birth to twin boys at the Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels on Tuesday night.
Both Claire — the wife of Prince Laurent — and the babies are in good health. The boys have been named Nicolas and Emeric. The first child was born at 6.54pm on Tuesday, weighed 1.98kg and was 44cm long. The second child was born at 6.55pm, weighed 2.21kg and was 45.5cm long.
The twins were born prematurely, as the official due date was in January. A spokesman for the Belgian royal family said Princess Claire gave birth via Caesarian.......

These names ARE A RUMOR !
http://www.lalibre.be/article.phtml?...&art_id=256815
It is said that the webmaster follows a rumor released by the press, but it has not been confirmed by the Palace yet, and Prince Laurent will give a press conference tomorrow and will certainly give the two names !
So wait and see ...... maybe Nicolas and Emeric, but it's not sure !

I like the name Nicholas very much. Emeric I will have to get used to. ( i know it's not official yet, but there's a good chance these are what it will be)
are either of these family names?

Claire's father is Nicholas Coombs, and her mother's name is Nicole. I would guess that Laurent chose the name Emeric .

On the news they told that the names Nicolas and Emeric aren't official yet . But Nicolas would make sense because the parents of Claire are Nicholas and Nicole ...
Tomorrow there will be a press conference .
Laurent spent the night together with his wife , the twins , Louise and Claire's mother in the hospital . he said he's very happy with the birth of his two sons
Both baby boy's are doing well , they will have to stay in the hospital for 3-6 weeks ( as is normal for twins )
This twins aren't the first twins in Belgian Royal history . Josephine -Charlotte (Laurent's aunt) had a twin , and also King Leopold the second his brother .
Albert and Paola already visited their new grandchildren yesterday evening .
They have now 11 grandchildren , 5 boys and 6 girls

huh? 3-6 weeks, that means 1 - 1 1/2 months at the hospital?
pardon my not knowing, but Claire doesn't have to stay that long, right?
i hope we'll see Lorenz, Astrid, Philippe, Mathilde & their respective childrens visit the newborn twins...
a very Happy day for belgians!

How long will Claire be in the hospital for? I can't imagine that with little Louise at home she would also stay in the hospital for 3-6 weeks with her newborn sons.
Too bad the little boys will spend their first Christmas in the hospital. I'm sure that Laurent, Claire, and the rest of their families will make it festive for them however!

that seems like a very long time to be in the hospital. it doesnt seem that most twins stay in the hospital that long after birth.
