Prince Laurent sentenced to 200 euros fine for expired inspection of his classic car

"The police court in Leuven has sentenced Prince Laurent to a fine of 200 euros because the inspection of his old-timer had expired. It had not been inspected since 2014
Prince Laurent came in person to the Leuven police court this morning. He had to appear because the inspection of his old-timer Porsche had expired for more than seven years. This came to light after he was spotted by a traffic camera in Tervuren on June 13, 2021. In court, he explained that the car, which he has had since his marriage, had been sitting in his garage for a while. "I had removed the number plates and he was no longer registered," said Prince Laurent.

If he wanted to drive his old-timer again, Prince Laurent had to re-register his car. "Before the inspection it was difficult to make an appointment. I also had health problems and also with covid I could not just go to the inspection. It took some time, that's all. away"

I believe the princess went more often to simular events at Beloeil. I visited the castle last year. It is lovely and in need of maintenance, but which castle isn't? The restaurant was not bad at all. I believe the prince lives in a sidebuilding, I could see him driving his car through the gate next to the restaurant at least.

Are they acquainted owing to the family relations, Michel being the son of Princess Alix of Luxembourg whose brother Grand Duke Jean married Princess Joséphine-Charlotte of Belgium?

They might be as they will have some relations in common, esp. the daughters of grand duke Jean, wo both lived in Brussels until some years ago. But more than that , the prince and princess are at the peak of Belgian society life so they nove in the same circles and do meet at social events from time to time.

Prince Laurent and Princess Claire inaugurated in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean a social housing project of the non-profit organization Renovassistance, of which the Princess is Honorary President.

My handicaped Son participated years at the National Games of Special Olympics. They were so proud to have a medal . Great thanks to the organisators and the lot of Volonteers who are there during 3 days. One Year in Flanders and one Year in Wallonia.
Each time a Member of our Royal Family is there for the Opening Ceremony. Well done

I wonder why the ceremony is not included in the court's agenda. As you say it is a special occasion.

:previous:

It seems he made the video to promote an event for the Prince Laurent Foundation at Chateau Val Saint Lambert in Seraing on sunday.

More humour in the video: he uses a fabricated cover of national geographic magazine. The covers shows a photo of the prince with an octopus and says 'Prince Laurent finally able to talk to an octopus'. It refers to a 2013 of the prince, where he wondered about the intelectual richness that would be gathered by being able to talk to an octopus.

Does Laurent seem a bit changed lately? He may have been willing to goof around (deadpan) for Nicolas's video, but publicly he just appears subdued these days. Or sad?

Does he strike anyone else as different?

Lovely photo with a Prince Laurent very affectionnate ! I love it !

LOL Laurent can't ever behave at any event, right?
Like he has to do something to show off

Yesterday, October 21, Prince Laurent was in Berloz and received a sweater made of dog hair and knitted especially for him.

Back in spring he had visited the association Handi-Bob that brings children with disabilities together with bobtails and back then Laurent had joked "I would like a sweater with short tail hair", so the challenge was accepted and now Laurent got his special birthday present..;)

The sweater was clearly way too large but he did wear it and seemed appreciative.

How do you even make a sweater from dog hair? That must be quite a process.
