He claims that he had advanced plans to move to Tripoli around 2008. He already selected a house, the children were starting to learn Arabic: "they thought it was fantastic".

Interesting tidbit, thanks Marengo.
Does anyone know if the documentary will be available online?

Prince Laurent has turned into a whistleblower on very unfresh practices by Belgian political, military and industrial establishments. Even the socialist MP Mr Van der Maelen (who requested hearings in Parliament) acknowledged Prince Laurent has a point that he feels discriminated: "The Government spares no effort to help Belgian arms manufacturers to get their Libyan invoices paid, but neglects the prince while he has an Arrest by the Court of Appeal which again confirmed that his claims to Libya were right and justified".

In essence: after the fall of Khadaffi, the Libyan billions stored in Belgium were frozen. The Government allegedly did everything to get hands on this frozen money in Brussels' banks to get Belgian invoices paid. Also illegal funding of Libyan warlords, the export of new Belgian arms to Libyan factions etc were paid with secret dealings around these Libyan billions. All in muddy waters. The only Belgian citizen with a transparant route and two consecutive judicial backings, Prince Laurent, was not helped. This while the State of Belgium has the constitutional obligation to enforce law and justice, in the first place to execute the rulings of the very own Belgian Courts.

From an useless clown, Prince Laurent has turned into a dangerous projectile for the Walloon (the French speaking) politicians and establishment.

The quote from Prince Laurent and the clip from VTM use the past tense verb form "Ik wou", but the headline says "Ik wilde". Is "wou" more common than "wilde" in Belgium ? What about in the Netherlands ?

According to dutch language site Taaladvies.net, when used in single form both "wilde" and "wou" can be used interchangeably, where "wou" is slightly more informal.
In plural only "wilden" is officially used (even though "wouden" can be heard in some areas but only when spoken (not written)

source (in dutch, not going to use google translate in this case because that will likely loose all finesse )

There's no difference in use or meaning.

In the Netherlands "ik wilde" (I wanted) is seen as somewhat more neat than "ik wou" (I wanted). But indeed: ik wilde / ik wou both means 100% the same in and is 100% accepted.

Yesterday, February 21, Prince Laurent visited the exhibition "La Famille royale fait la Une" organized by the Soirmag magazine in Waterloo. The weekly publication is celebrating its 90th anniversary with an exhibition of 300 magazine covers featuring the Royal Family. King Philippe had already viewed the exhibition last year:

That's indeed really strange. She seems in hiding most of the time. Hope all is well.
