Prince Félix, Princess Claire and Family, Current Events Part 1: November 2013 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I don’t know if anyone else noticed it but Princess Claire looked pregnant today, or maybe is just the coat that makes it look like she is?

:previous: Such a sweet photo, thanks eya. I can't believe little Liam is two already.

Felix was running a vineyard and chateau for his father in law but appears to have moved on now.
According to Felix' biography (version from 2018) on monarchie.lu he is still managing the vineyard (but nowadays apparently from Geneva.

Edit: or so I thought: According to Claire's biography the family lives in Germany?! There is no mention of a job for her... She seems to be doing some research/teaching activities related to her doctorate at times.

Per those who follow the Luxembourg family, it seems the country's mainstream media has not taken it up.

There may eventually be questions about Prince Félix's place of residence if he remains his brother's heir and he refuses to raise his children in Luxembourg. Would the people of Luxembourg be satisfied to have a Grand Duchess (Amalia) who is a stranger to the country?

Another issue which will eventually require a solution if Félix remains next in line is that according to the present house laws, Amalia's children will be obligated to bear their father's name (even if they are given royal titles) until Amalia is the first in line to the throne.
Amalia and Liam are currently just members of the grand ducal family and not of the grand ducal house. However, as born members of the grand ducal family, the head of the house may decide to confer membershio of the house to them, according to the following provision:
The head of the house is*authorised, after consultation with the members of the advisory council (§ 10 (1) 4), to confer born members of the Grand Ducal Family the membership of the Grand Ducal House. In addition, the head of the house is solely*authorised*to give binding statements according to this house statute about the membership of the Grand Ducal Family in general and the Grand Ducal House in particular.

They will automatically become members of the House at the moment Felix would become the heir (if that is to happen) - at least that is my conclusion based on art 2 where no explicit mention is made that it has to be the heir apparent (as Felix can only be the heir presumptive if his brother would reign without issue). This limitation, however, was included regarding the title(s). So, based on my understanding of the current rules, Felix won't be hereditary grand duke nor will Amalia be princess of Luxembourg (until her father ascends the throne if applicable)...

Yes, I agree with you.

This limitation, however, was included regarding the title(s). So, based on my understanding of the current rules, Felix won't be hereditary grand duke nor will Amalia be princess of Luxembourg (until her father ascends the throne if applicable)...

The same phrase "nach Primogeniturrecht zur Thronfolge berufene Hausmitglied" (the member of the House called to inherit the throne by the order of primogeniture) defines the heir to the throne in Article 2 (membership) and Article 4 (titles), so in my view Article 4 also applies to heirs presumptive.

Article 2

- Legilux

Thus, if Guillaume does not have children, once he is Grand Duke, Félix and Claire would automatically become Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, and Amalia and Liam would be elevated to members of the Grand-Ducal House and Princess and Prince of Luxembourg.

The problem is that under Article 4, Amalia's children would bear their father's family name until Amalia herself becomes the Hereditary Grand Duchess.

Cheers - Royal Inauguration of the new waterworks
Prince Félix of Luxemburg and Crown Princess Victoria topped with a glass of water at the inauguration of the new waterworks in Mörbylånga. Thus, after three years, the municipality has come to terms with its future water supply.
"Hereby, I declare the waterworks inaugurated", said Crown Princess Victoria and raised her water glass in front of the multi-headed audience.
Before that, she had received flowers from several children, heard the school's children's choir sing about sun, wind and water together with Lydia Asteberg and listen to speech that contained both proud and informative as well as touching words.
Prince Félix from Luxembourg was also proud and happy. The company that has supplied the technical equipment is based in Luxembourg and the prince praised the technical cooperation between the countries.
- This waterworks can hopefully be the start for more countries to reuse water. Climate change in the world is the biggest danger we are living with and we need to be afraid of all the assets we have. Water recycling is one such thing.

Interesting to read that based on her research Claire promotes the notion that everyone is/shouod be a (potential) organ donor unless the registered that they don't want to.

Last year this topic was heavily debated and the system indeed changed (by the smallest margin of votes and only because some didn't arrive on time to vote because of missing the train!) to automatic donorship unless you register not to be one instead of donorship after registering you want to be a donor.

Prince Félix presented this morning 2 February the Labor Promotion Certificates, a distinction which rewards the most deserving apprentices in the trade, industry, hotel and catering, services and social-educational sectors.

Interestingly all products of this brand are manufactured in Portugal.

I couldn't figure out if this brand belongs to Felix and Claire or not.

A lovely family. The children are really growing - I remember when it was first announced Claire was expecting Amalia as if it were yesterday!

I realize that they have to make a living like everyone else, but I find it a little tacky using themselves as models for the brand.
