H&M, partner of GEN-PEP, tells that they launch in January 2017 a collection of sports clothes for children. Joanna Morell, the press contact of H&M, said that they want to make functional and cool sport clothes for children with nice price, hoping that these would encourage the children to move more actively. There is a whole kit for what children and young people might want and need for active recreation. The prices of the clothes will be from 39,90 to 149 SEK. There will also be a "buy 3, pay for 2" offer on the entire collection. Morell said that it is important for them that the collection is affordable and accessible to as many people as possible. Morell tells that the crown princess couple contacted them last spring and they thought that it was obvious and inspiring for them to take part at initiative GEN-PEP.

Daniel attended today at a seminar "Nyckeln till En Frisk Generation" (The Key to a Healthy Generation), organized by En Frisk Generation Foundation (Daniel is their patron), Karolinska Institutet and GEN-PEP. The focus at the seminar was on how we get the world's healthiest kids. The theme for the day is health, integration and social sustainability for children and young people.
Among the speakers were Daniel and Carolina Klüft from GEN-PEP, Minister for Health Care, Public Health and Sport Gabriel Wikström and professor Mai-Lis Hellénius from Karolinska Institutet.

Daniel gave the opening speech at the seminar

From the Facebook of GEN-PEP
"Hey kids, now you have sat indoors all day. Now you have to get out and move on you a little bit and get fresh air!" Prince Daniel speaks in his opening speech that children do as we adults do, not what we say. Perhaps it is as simple that we get kids to exercise more just by setting us up and dropping our smartphones?
The prince spoke also about the importance of giving all children the opportunity and the will to want to move the recommended 60 minutes per day. Health must become more equal terms, and we at @ gen.pep want to be a catalyst for including support organizations around the country working on this important issue. The prince was standing by the way the rest of the century. Of course."

"Fantastic Carolina Klüft talking about how the sport gave her the joy of movement and affiliation when she was a child. She also is also concerned about the importance of allowing all children have the chance to play sports and about the danger of pushing the child to elite sports too early. We at @gen.pep are so excited to have Carro with us to work for health equity and movement for all children and young people!"

The video "GEN-PEP Pep Talk by Stephen Hawking" has been chosen as "The Film of the Month" in November.

The Swedes are one of the most sedentary people. To draw attention to one of our greatest public health problems, organisation Generation Pep and Forsman & Bodenfors took help of Professor Stephen Hawking, considered by many to be the smartest in the world. He has long, involuntary sedentary due to the disease ALS.
How did it go when Stephen Hawking said yes?
- After we presented the idea and got the thumbs up, we made an animatic that Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel presented to Professor Stephen Hawking in Cambridge. He himself is committed to the issue and thanked yes without period for consideration, says Adam Ulvegärde, art director at Forsman & Bodenfors.
How you reasoned when you came to the conclusion that it was he who would lead the campaign?
- A problem with the issue is that it doesn't sound so bad. In comparison with other things in the world sedentary doesn't feel particularly life-threatening, which it in fact is. To avail Stephen Hawking, self involuntary sedentary for many years, gives the matter the seriousness it deserves, says Joakim Labraaten, copy of F & B.
How much he has been involved and decided what he'll say?
- It is always important that the person in front of a message himself can stand for what is said and feels comfortable in how it is said. We juggled back and forth a few times, says Joakim Labraaten. The commission is pro bono.
Jury member Fabian Lakander, art director of the ANR BBDO:
Smart and simple. Fun and tragic. All the paradoxes that arise with Hawking as ambassador make the film fierce.
Månadens film, november 2016 - Resumé

The video has been watched at GEN-PEP's Facebook over 614 000 times, and at GEN-PEP's Youtube over 103 000 times.

Today was the launch of the sports clothes collection for children H&M and GEN-PEP have done together.
From GEN-PEP's Facebook
"Today was finally released the sportswear collection we have produced together with H&M
- It is a modern sport collection for children and adolescents consisting of clothes, accessories and shoes. The goal has been to create functional and cool products that are affordable, appeal to children and shall encourage to a more active lifestyle, said Joanna Morell, Press secretary at H&M.
The clothes are available on sizes 110-170 and now there is a nice offer in the stores (and H&M's online shop) where you buy 3 products but pay only for 2! We at GEN-PEP are so excited that the collection is finally a reality!"

GEN-PEP started a couple of weeks ago at their social media a competition: They wanted people to share their best tips to easily get to a little more exerxise in life. Outdoors or indoors did not matter and the only limit was people's imagination. Jump, dance, climbing, running, crawling or doing anything else that makes the heart beat a little extra! As prizes GEN-PEP gives clothes from their and H&M's collection. People could participate by following GEN-PEP on Instagram, uploading a video with tips for exercise and tagging it as told.
Today GEN-PEP reminds at their social media that tomorrow is the last day to participate at the competition.

GEN-PEP told at a press release in October that they have founded the prize Årets Peppare to a person or organization who has in an innovative and inclusive way managed to get children and young people in Sweden to move. Nominations could be sent to GEN-PEP and during the last weeks GEN-PEP has presented many people and associations at their website. Good people, who have done a lot to get children and young people to move, but who didn't reach the final.

Today GEN-PEP sent a press release:
HRH Prince Daniel and Carolina Klüft announce finalists
- We believe in the power of good example and hope that Årets Peppare inspires and motivates. The whole community needs to work together to ensure that all children and young people should be given the same opportunity to live an active life, says Prince Daniel, the initiator of GEN-PEP.
To find Årets Peppare nominations have been collected from the Swedish people in autumn 2016. Since then, the jury selected three finalists, one of which will be Årets Peppare 2017 and receive the prize from prince Daniel live at the Sports Gala on Monday 16th January.
- We have received many great nominations and one becomes incredibly happy to read about everything that is done for the joy of movement for the children and young people in our country. It's been a tough job for the jury to select only three of them, but we feel now happy and proud to announce the 2016 finalists, says Carolina Klüft, project leader of GEN-PEP.
The finalists are:
Tomas Andersson
Futebol dá Força
Pokemon Go

GEN-PEP publishes films and information about the finalists at their social media.
Daniel delivers the Prize at the Sports Gala on Monday. The gala will be shown live on SVT1 and SVTPlay and broadcasted at Radio Sweden.

A teacher from Sandviken can get the prize of the Sports Gala - nominated as "Årets peppare"
Tomas Andersson, teacher at Murgårdsskolan in Sandviken is one of three nominees for Årets peppare at the Sports Gala.
It was a colleague who nominated Tomas Andersson to the prize. That he was nominated he learned when Carolina Klüft called him in December.
- I was very surprised, I had no idea. Of course it was fun and very flattering, partly because a colleague taken the time to write up a justification, but also that others show appreciation, he said.

Pokemon Go can be awarded - by the royal family
Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria have started the organization "Generation Pepp" (GEN-PEP). On Monday Prince Daniel will deliver the prize "Årets peppare" at the Sports Gala.
According to the rules, the prize should go to either a person, an organization or a iniatiative which encourages children and young people to move.
The three nominees in the category are Tomas Andersson, a teacher in Sandviken, Futebol da Forca which trains girls in football and women leaders and the hit game Pokemon Go that has spread like wildfire across the world.

Daniel delivers the prize to Årets Peppare at the Swedish Sports Gala on Monday.
The Swedish Sports Gala is a partner of GEN-PEP, it was published in connection of the launch of GEN-PEP. The Sports Gala said that they have chosen to engage themselves in GEN-PEP to emphasize that the children's motion and physical activity is crucial not only for future elite athletes but especially for the Swedish public health. The Sports Gala hopes together with GEN-PEP create a greater awareness and increased interest in issues relating children's physical health. They are delighted to be involved and contribute to an issue which is so important and affects so many.
GEN-PEP - Partner_ Idrottsgalan

Expressen reports today falsely that Daniel attends at the Sports Gala instead of Carl Philip, because Carl Philip is still on a holiday trip. Daniel isn't replacing Carl Philip. GEN-PEP told at their website already on 18th October that Daniel delivers the prize Årets Peppare at the Sports gala on 16th January. And because GEN-PEP is an initiative of the Crown princess couple, of course Daniel delivers the prize, because he is the one that runs GEN-PEP for him and Victoria. Maybe Carl Philip would have delivered another prize at the Gala if he would have been in Sweden.

GEN-PEP presents the finalists of Årets Peppare: Tomas Andersson, Futebol dá Força and Pokémon Go at their website, social media and Youtube.
Tomas Andersson is a teacher at Murgårdsskolan in Sandviken, and an enthusiast who is really passionate about giving everyone the ability to find the joy of motion. By constantly doing a little extra Tomas finds new ways to reach young people. Every Friday, he arranges for example, "Work out with Thomas" in the gymnastics hall. There the children based on their own interests and abilities play and explore their physical skills.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw5bSCCEQKM
Futebol dá Força is an organization founded by Cecilia Andrén Nyström which trains women leaders to encourage young girls' physical and mental health through football. With low thresholds and worked through leadership, they have managed to reach over thousand young girls in Sweden. The foundation is about seeing that each individual through football and joy of moving strengthens their physical and mental health. Futebol dá Força works to strengthen both the leaders and players and the communities.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VngkDVukxNo
Pokémon Go was an immediate success when the app was released and suddenly many, both children and adults, were seen run around and search for Pokémon. Pokémon Company, together with Niantic, had the intention to create a fun and adventurous game and in the bargain they got many children and young people to move in a completely new way. Pokémon Go shows that one can find the joy of movement using smartphones, which many times is the reason for sedentary, in a fun and above all active way.

Prince Daniel and Carolina Klüft have written an open letter which is published today at the front page of Metro newspaper.

From GEN-PEP website
GEN-PEP and Metro in cooperation for children and young people's health
GEN-PEP starts today a partnership with Metro newspaper to spread knowledge and inspire more physical activity in everyday life. From today and 8 Mondays onwards Carolina Klüft will be the guest editor of Metro and together with experts and profiles inspire to create opportunities for children and young people to live a more healthy life.
"Today, only 1 of 8 of all 13-year-olds in Sweden achieve the recommended amount of physical activity (60 minutes a day). We want to change that! And we will not rest until all children and young people in Sweden have the opportunity to live an active and healthy life", Prince Daniel and Carolina Klüft write in their open letter to Sweden in Metro today.
Each Monday, Metro publishes practical tips on how children and young people can live a more healthy life. In the first issue we focus on playful partner exercises that you can do in the classroom, as a much-needed break in the sedentary. Carolina gets help from Julika, 9 years.
"For us, cooperation with GEN-PEP obvious as it is in line with the health initiative which Metro has in 2017. The question is not only important, it is also obvious. That GEN-PEP chose Metro as a channel to reach out makes us proud", said Karin Österman, Marketing Director of Metro.

Press release from Metro
Today begins Metro's new major investment in children and young people's health. "Our way of life riks literally to kill us and it is time to take the problem seriously!" So open Prince Daniel and Carolina Klüft their open letter in Metro today.
"We are very proud to present Carolina Klüft and Prince Daniel to Metro. Most of all proud we are however of the venture itself. Metro is Sweden's by far the largest newspaper - it is used every day as part of the teaching in Swedish schools and read by students parents in coffee breaks and living rooms. Sweden is today one of Europe's most sedentary countries, and only one in eight 13-year-old moves enough every day. We want - and we can - affect it", says Eric Ljunggren, editor in chief of Metro.

Vinnare av Årets Peppare 2017 är Futebol dá força! - GEN-PEP

Daniel and Victoria must be very proud. They started their Crown Princess Couple's Foundation when they were married. When the Foundation was going well, they wanted to do something more. Daniel launched GEN-PEP in the beginning of July 2016, Daniel and Victoria are the initiators of it and The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation is one of GEN-PEP's founding partners. It is amazing how far they have got with GEN-PEP in such a short time. Daniel held a short but great speech at the delivery of the prize, his message was clear and seen and heard by the 2500 people in Globen and about two million people at home. Well done.

Video from the Sports Gala, Daniel delivering the Prize starts at about 2.08:55.

Daniel at Årets Peppare, from the court website:
Prins Daniel prisade Årets Peppare - Sveriges Kungahus

Daniel said in his speech
"Sweden is a small country, but a great sporting nation. You athletes unite us.
You gather us with great moments and you give us memories that we always carry with us.
I love the associations that we have in Sweden, where the sports movement is a key player and I think it is more important than ever that we maintain our associations, because I think it is an important ingredient in the strong trust that exists between the people of our country.
Through sport, we get new friends, we hang out across borders and when the sport is at its best, there is a place for everyone...
... Unfortunately, not all children and young people can express their joy of movement and the ability to live an active and healthy life.
It matters where you are born and grow up. It is not fair, but it looks like that. Both in Sweden and abroad.
Fortunately, there are many good forces that are working hard to change that. Who support and pep that more children and young people should be able to move.
And it is they, the good forces that we want to highlight with this award - Årets Peppare."

GEN-PEP and Bonnier Carlsen publish "Sagasagor: Fiffiga kroppen och finurliga knoppen"

GEN-PEP and Bonnier Carlsen publish children's book "Sagasagor: Fiffiga kroppen och finurliga knoppen" (Saga Tales: Nifty bodies and shrewd heads) written by Josefine Sundström. A book with the goal of awakening the children's desire for physical activity.
- We want all children to have the same chance at a healthy life. With Sagasagors everyday tone we hope to inspire more people to move more, says Prince Daniel.

Josefine Sundström debuted last fall as a children's author of "Sagasagor: studsmatta, simskola och en borttappad tigertass" (Saga Tales: trampoline, swimming lessons, and a lost tiger paw) - the first book in a series of Saga and her friend Samir.
- Already at the first meeting with Prince Daniel and Carolina Klüft I became infected by GEN-PEP's genuine commitment to young people's health. We share the view that something must be done. Now! And after exciting encounters with GEN-PEP and among others lifestyle professor Mai-Lis Hellénius the story has taken shape. Of course I and Sagasagors illustrator Emma Göthner said yes to participate in this fantastic project, author Josefine Sundström says.
- It feels really great to give out this children's book together with Bonnier Carlsen, Josefine Sundström and Emma Göthner. We hope the book will inspire the youngest to have more movement joy, a joy that can then follow them the rest of their lives, says Carolina Klüft, Project Manager at GEN-PEP.

The vision of the book is to right away get all children to move. It is meant to inspire the whole family to start moving more, and gladly do it together.
- It doesn't in any way have to be organized sports. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money or be complicated. Play and fun is just as good, says Carolina Klüft.
- At Bonnier Carlsen, we adopt GEN-PEP's philosophy and bounce us sweaty and chuckle us happy on coffee disco between rounds. For we feel exactly how Saga says: "Imagine that you become tired in the body while becoming sprited in your head," says Eva Dahlin, Literary Manager of Bonnier Carlsen.
The book will be released in early summer.

GEN-PEP told yesterday at their website that they have got a new partner: Sverige United, an independent foundation working for integration with football as a tool. Sverige United believes that sport in general and maybe team sports in particular have an inherent power to many commercial aspects. It puts young people in motion, promotes mental and physical health and helps to establish contacts between people who would otherwise never have had the opportunity to get to know each other.
What attracted you to Generation PEP?
We are inspired by the holistic touch Generation PEP takes about public health in Sweden. Sverige United shares the view that increased mobility and better nutrition among young people gives a great many positive effects. Through physical activity mental illness and isolation can be prevented, while the sports provides young people with an arena where they can meet on equal terms.
What do you hope that we will accomplish together?
We hope to increase understanding of how important exercise and physical activity can be - on many different levels. Not just in terms of improved health on an individual level, but also more structural.

Karin Mamma Andersson, the designer of GEN-PEP's "Årets Peppare" -prize, tells at GEN-PEP's press release how prince Daniel asked her to design the prize, what she thought about it and why the prize is like it is.

- The first thought was probably why a sculpture, I'm painter? I was surprised both by Prince Daniel's question but also of my answer, which was a hesitant yes, says Karin Mamma Andersson.
GEN-PEP chose to work with Swedish artist Karin Mamma Andersson.
Karin Mamma Andersson began her career on the sculpture line at the Art Academy in Stockholm, but switched to fine art at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Her paintings are highly praised and she is now one of Sweden's most acclaimed artists internationally.
- I was thinking about the prizes I have received. They've been qualified but pretty boring. Most often totally abstract. I saw in my mind a colorful figure with a fruit or vegetable on the head. Thought that health is something we should always bear with us, to move in daily life and eating good food. Since I am not a sculptor, I realized very quickly that I needed advice and practical help to do this.
So I decided instead to make a pretty big pear, I thought, be painted in many different colors. The woman / girl was just something I mocking me on the side, because I still thought about the idea. When Thomas Karlsson (sculptor) came to pick the pear for casting, he saw the woman / girl and said; that's much more fun!
I agreed with but felt that I was not quite ready, but said "okay, take it, it will be good." Thomas did cast it in a run, and after the New Year, I got it to the studio for the painting.
The beautiful statuette was received at the Sports Gala by a happy Cecilia Andrén Nyström, founder of Futebol dá Força.
- Somehow I was probably psyched to start work in three dimensions. The strange thing is that I all these years, have sometimes picked up sculptures motifs in my paintings. So you never know, it might live a longing for it, Karin Mamma Andersson answer to the question if she is inspired to continue sculpting.

GEN-PEP has again a new partner: Parasport.
Parasport is Swedish Parasports Federation and Swedish Paralympic Committee and one of their tasks is to operate the Swedish Special Olympics activities. Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. In the world there are about five million athletes and in Sweden the figure is around 9000.
What attracted you to Generation PEP?
What attracted us with Generation PEP is primarily that GEN-PEP synchronizes directly with our motto. All young people should have the right to find the joy and the possibility of exercise, regardless of the conditions they have.
What do you hope that we will accomplish together?
We'll get more children and young people with developmental disabilities to play sports, and to use sport as a means to create a change of attitude towards persons with developmental disabilities.

The representants of Parasport Sweden and Gen-Pep meet on 13th February and discuss about their cooperation in more detail.

A nice little story:
Many children want to help other children who are having a hard time. Elvira, 7 years, from Laröd in Skåne painted a picture in school last spring. The subject is a girl with a split face - one half is happy and the other sad - she calls it her own Picasso painting.
- One day when my family and I sat and talked about the picture we decided that we would sell it to raise money for something good, she says.
Elvira and her family printed the drawing, and bought frames so it was a nice picture. Elvira decided to buy Christmas presents for children in the hospital with the money she received.
- I felt sorry for the children who are sick and wanted them to get a little better Christmas, says Elvira.
Her mother Linnea talked to the hospital, they were very happy and thought it was a good idea. Elvira began to sell the picture, first to all in the family and then with the help of mom Linnéa via Facebook and Instagram.
People from across the country bought the picture.
Elvira sent also a letter to the King and asked if he wanted to buy the picture.
- He did not buy, but the Crown Princess Couple's Foundation bought the picture. And the king sent a letter with a picture of the entire royal family, in which he thanked for Elvira's commitment, says Linnea.
Elvira's goal was to get together SEK 10 000 to buy Christmas presents. She got 13 000, which was enough for 200 Christmas gifts. Since there were more presents than needed on Christmas, the children's ward hands them out during the year on the children's birthdays. Elvira collected the toys from a toy shop herself, toys like cars, dolls, games and puzzles. The hardest part was to wrap packages.
On Lucia Day, she went with her mother and little sister to hand out the presents.
- A girl I hugged was thrilled. She said "thank you so much" and gave me a big hug back.
Now Elvira thinks about starting a new fundraising.

GEN-PEP's well planned work continues while Daniel is away.
GEN-PEP published a new partner: Alla på snö (Everyone on Snow).
Alla på snö creates ski enjoyment during a school day for the country's fourth graders. During Alla på snö days, all children, regardless of previous background and experience, have the opportunity to receive free to try different ways to slide on snow. To give kids a safe and fun day as possible high school students in the participating municipality are trained to Alla på snö -leaders.
What do you hope that we will accomplish together?
To maintain the confidence and have a positive image of themselves, "sport good mirror", is crucial to the positive experience. In the evaluation of Alla på snö, "Everyone has the right to succeed," reported the children's perception of what they considered to be decisive for a positive experience. Some factors that the kids especially valued were the environment around, that they got a nice welcome and that there was no requirement for performance. Therefore, it is important to adapt the activity for the students' different conditions and will. Alla på snö works according to a model where small steps of success providing a framework for the practitioner to want to remain physically active throughout life - every day. We want, together with GEN-PEP through teacher training, secondary school students, primary school fourth graders and the Swedish Ski Association Association put the theory into practice.

GEN-PEP is also presenting PEP-PALs: the first PEP-PAL is e-sports legend Emil "HeatoN" Christensen.
Role models are needed to inspire and spread knowledge about children and young people's health. We are pleased to now be able to present one of our PEP-PALS Emil "HeatoN" Christensen.
A PEP-PAL is an inspirational person we really like and who shares our vision that all children and young people in Sweden should have the ability and desire to live active and healthy lives. A PEP-PAL has the opportunity to highlight our core issues on a personal, credible and engaging manner and thus contribute to creating engagement in physical activity and positive eating habits.
Emil "HeatoN" Christensen is a former professional e-sport player with eight World Cup titles, who was elected to the E-sport Hall of Fame last year. Emil is passionate about e-sport and health. Last year, he applied to make e-sport approved as a sport by the Swedish Sports Confederation and in the sprinf we see him in SVT's "Mästarnas mästare" ("Champion of the Champions").
"I am extremely proud and happy to be a part of GEN-PEP. Along with the rest of the team at GEN-PEP I hope to get the Swedish children and young people to exercise more and eat better", says Emil "HeatoN" Christensen.
In the video HeatoN gives tips of his best exercises you can do at any given moment beside your computer.

GEN-PEP also published a new Knowledge Partner: The University of Gothenburg (The Public Health Agency, The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences and Karolinska Institutet have been the Knowledge Partners from the start of GEN-PEP).
The University of Gothenburg will will take part of GEN-PEP's work with research on the psychological aspects of training and on what motivates people to physical activity - an essential component to understand how to create the conditions for sustainable behavior change.
What attracted you to Generation PEP?
Physical activity is one of the key factors for children and young people's health and wellbeing. In order to change habits regarding physical activity on a broad front for large groups an extensive cooperation is required between many different parties in society, science-based knowledge and great driving force. Generation PEP initiative has all these components. With its ambitious goal and its extensive network of partners GEN-PEP has a great opportunity to create a real and long-term change in health habits of children and young people in Sweden for many years to come. As part of the university's third mission, interaction with the community, the commitment of GEN-PEP feels right and important.
What do you hope that we will accomplish together?
To create a sustainable environment for regular physical activity and movement of so many children and young people as possible. In addition, to produce and disseminate new knowledge in community around the area of physical activity and health.

Daniel has a meeting with GEN-PEP on Monday.

GEN-PEP published today a video in its social media (Facebook and Instagram).
Daniel talks with freeride and big mountain skier Henrik Windstedt. Daniel asks if Henrik knows that the children should move one hour a day, be physically active? Henrik answers that he didn't know that they should do it one hour, but of course they must move. It is super important, and we adults should move at least half an hour, says Daniel and continues that he has heard that Henrik isn't very sedentary. Henrik says that when one spends a lot of time here, one doesn't sit so much at a chair. Daniel suggests that they should go down the hill, does Henrik dare to do it? I'll come on your tracks, show me the way, says Henrik and they ski down the hill.

The Umeå-based project Change the game is now a member of network "Peppare" which is part of the Crown Princess Couple's initiative GEN-PEP.
- It's inspiring that they want to highlight our efforts to get children and young people to lead an active and healthy life, says Jonas Olsson, CEO of Balticgruppen AB and initiator of Change the game.
GEN-PEP started last year from the initiative of the Crown Princess Couple, and is a non-profit organization that works to raise awareness and stimulate interest for the child and adolescent health. The goal is to bring together companies, organizations and people to make it easier for children and young people to live a healthy life.
Organizations and individuals that share GEN-PEP's vision and which work with the same issues and have the same goal as GEN-PEP are "Peppare".
- GEN-PEP is an initiative that has great chance to influence, not least because crown princess Victoria and prince Daniel started it and stand behind it. Being a part of their network of "Peppare" gives Change the game an extra kick, says Jonas Olsson.
