GEN-PEP's project leader Carolina Klüft was chosen as Skansen's "Vårtalare" (Spring speaker) as the first elite athlete, she gave a speech at Skansen this evening, at Walpurgis Night evening. Carolina was interviewed because of this at TV4 News morning, and she told also about GEN-PEP, how the foundation and it have been started by the crown princess couple and what it does. Carolina said that her work is very exciting, she takes part at the operative work. Carolina was asked how she and prince Daniel are connected at the work. Carolina says that Daniel can use his role at this very important mission and she can use her role when they are talking with organisations and directors of companies. It is great to meet all the people who are working with this important issue, which is very current right now. Carolina spoke very passionately about the subject and reminded that to get children and young people move more doesn't mean that they have to start doing sports like she has. They can for instance dance or search for Pokemons.

Some days ago SVT published that Carolina Klüft and Micke Leijnegard are hosts at TV-program "Duellen", which will be shown at SVT in the autumn. At Duellen the teams at the studio and the television audience will guess who wins in challenges such as ten children in a fight against Sweden's strongest man, cyclist against rider by horse through muddy forest or who carries down ten trees fastest - one Forest machine or ten forest shovels. Carolina Klüft will also participate in some of the battles.

Expressen had Carolina Klüft's interview today, she tells about her interest in social issues, how she raises her daughter, how she has started boxing, and about her work at GEN-PEP.
At the video she tells about her work at GEN-PEP:
- In my work at GEN-PEP I work mostly with children and young people up to eighteen years, so that every child in Sweden would have possibility and desire to exercise and eat well.
What is Generation Pep, tell more about it?
- It is an initiative taken by the Crown princess couple to unite the community at these issues, it is everything from spreading knowledge and inspiration, to starting initiatives and getting the community in various levels to talk about this, and also doing something concrete. It doesn't mean that you go for a run on this morning, but that you stand up time to time and perhaps have an exercise break when your TV-program has adverts, or to have an exercise break at the class room.
Have you trained with the Crown princess couple?
- No, I haven't trained with them. We work together. It is fantastic to see the involvement they have. They really want to be with and do things for Sweden and the children and young people. It is great to work with people who are so dedicated to change the community for a better one.
At the article it is told that Carolina works at GEN-PEP part time.
- I was very happy when they contacted me, this is an important issue for me. That we feel good is the foundation of everything, we have our health with us our whole life, says Klüft who thinks there is reason to be worried.
When we meet in the morning Klüft is, like most of us, on her way to work. And she doesn't mind being called a pencil pusher.
- I am very fond of having a regular job to go to. Just having my own desk feels great.
However, it's not really a "normal" job. At least regarding her colleagues. Two of the colleagues belong to the royal family.
- Prince Daniel and I work partly together. The Crown Princess has a lot of other assignments so not as much work with her.
How is it to work with the Crown Princess couple?
- They are extremely committed, which is inspiring. Prince Daniel I meet quite often. He is a very wise and fun person to work with.
Do you call him the prince?
- Not when we are in informal contexts. We have a relaxed attitude towards each other, Prince Daniel is a human being like everyone else. At the same time, I naturally respect his role and that he represents a traditional institution in Sweden.
Does he call you "Carro"?
- Yes, but almost everyone does so. It is even trademark-protected.

in January GEN-PEP and Bonnier Carlsen gave press releases that they are publishing a book "Sagasagor: Fiffiga kroppen och finurliga knoppen" (Saga Tales: Nifty bodies and shrewd heads) written by Josefine Sundström and illustrated by Emma Göthner. Today the book came to the stores. A book with the goal of awakening the children's desire for physical activity.
- We want all children to have the same chance at a healthy life. With Sagasagors' everyday tone we hope to inspire more people to move more, says Prince Daniel.

Guldägget was first arranged in 1961 and is today Sweden’s oldest, largest and most prestigious competition for the communication industry. The purpose is to draw attention to the best advertisement, lead the industry forward and raise the level of the creative standard. Guldägget rewards both the agency and the client. The competition is only for Swedish agencies.

GEN-PEP at their website:
We are very happy and proud that GEN-PEP's "Pep Talk by Stephen Hawking" film, produced by our Supporting Partner Forsman & Bodenfors, has won the Guldägget 2017 in the "Best Online Movie" category.
Today, physical inactivity is the world's fourth most common cause of death and, in order to raise awareness about the problem, GEN-PEP launched a campaign together with Professor Stephen Hawking in 2016. GEN-PEP was founded on the initiative of the Crown Princess couple.
The film gained enormous viral spread both in Sweden and internationally when released.
Pep Talk by Stephen Hawking was recorded in Cambridge where Professor Stephen Hawking lives and operates.

Stephen Hawking collaboration awarded as the best online movie
Forsman & Bodenfors wins Guldägg for best online film their his collaboration with Stephen Hawking.
"How sedentary has become one of the world's most serious public health problems is beyond my understanding". The words come from Stephen Hawking in the movie "Pep talk by Stephen Hawking". The film was developed by Forsman & Bodenfors for GEN-PEP public health organization and wins Guldägget in the online film category. Stephen Hawking is considered one of the world's smartest people and has long been wheelchair bound as a result of the disease ALS.
- After presenting the idea and getting thumbs up, we did an animatic which Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel presented to professor Stephen Hawking in Cambridge. He himself is engaged in the matter and thanked without consideration yes, Adam Ulvegärde, art director of Forsman & Bodenfors, told when the film was chosen as The Film of the Month.
The jury's motivation for the prize: "Guldägget for online movie goes to the insight and solution that is as straight and simple that it is incomprehensible and even the most brilliant among us that the problem persists. To let the spokesperson not only to convey the message verbally but with his whole revelation give the sedentary receiver a slap in the face is simply ingenious. Guldägget for online movie goes to the best casting".

Daniel and Lenka Prokopec Karlberg from GEN-PEP met on Monday Chairman Professor Olle Lundberg from the Commission for Equity in Health.
The Commission for Equity in Health is to submit proposals that can help to reduce health inequalities in society. The commission’s primary focus will be the health inequalities between various socioeconomic groups in society. The basis for the commission’s remit is the Government’s goal to close the avoidable health gaps within one generation.

A photo of Daniel and professor Lundberg at Lundberg's blog, where he writes about the meeting.
Creating more equal terms and opportunities is crucial for equal health
But the work for a more equal health need not only be conducted broadly, but largely, but also gaining momentum and power forward by a wide range of actors. The health gradient touches the whole community, therefore, the whole community also needs to be engaged in the work for a more equal health. That's why it also felt extraordinary significant when I had the opportunity to meet Prince Daniel and Lenka Prokopec Karlberg from GEN-PEP Foundation to present and discuss our work in the Commission. The Crown Princess Couple is the initiator of GEN-PEP which, together with actors from the whole community is going to pursue long-term work for that all children and young people in Sweden to have the opportunity and willingness to live an active and healthy life. Prince Daniel has also said that it is sad and outrageous that health is uneven and that this is not worthy of our country.
I believe that the extra substance and attention that the issue gets through the fact that Prince Daniel and the Crown Princess couple are active and committed to equal health, as well as the experiences and contact networks they can mobilize are very important. It shows, not least, that equal health affects everyone.

The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation has given financial support to Free You, which was launched on 5th May. The Foundation tells about this at their website.
Free You is a new digital tool for preventing and counteracting mental health among children and young people. In the program, young people learn to know themselves better, they create individual goals and they are given tools to strengthen self-esteem.
"Children and young people will feel that they are valuable and adept as they are. Unfortunately, it is not so in reality. Every other girl in grade two in high school does not like herself, lives with a high level of stress, low self-esteem and has few tools to handle the life situation in which she is. This affects all areas of life such as health, relationships, study results and Life choices, says Johanna Salama who is behind the Free You initiative.

TV and radio profile, children's book author Josefine Sundström, 40, remembers exactly where she was when the conversation about writing a children's book in collaboration with Prince Daniel came. She was at the badminton hall in Sollentuna and it was Eva Dahlin, literary director of her book publisher Bonnier Carlsen who called. Prince Daniel and sport star Carolina Klüft from Gen-Pep wanted to get a book which inspires younger children to move and exercise, and the mission suited Josefine perfectly!
- I have been working on these issues for several years, I have been teaching dance and working to get young in motion as a producer for children's programs, so I only felt "Yes, yes, yes!", says Josefine.
Josefine met the Prince and Carolina at a first meeting at the Stockholm Palace, where Gen-Pep has its office, but before she thanked yes, she wanted to ensure that the literary freedom remained and that they thought the same about the book.
They did and the book "Sagasagor: Fiffiga kroppen och finurliga knoppen" was created.
Josefine was infected with the Prince's genuine commitment to children's health.
- Wow what a dedication. Prince Daniel is a pro. Very competent and knowledgeable in these questions. I have great respect for his and the organization's work. We have had a superb and fun cooperation.
Gen-Pep wants to inform parents that the children need at least one hour of exercise every day to feel good. The book is also meant to inspire parents to exercise more and gladly with the children. The fairytale book also includes a factbook about the body addressed to the children.

GEN-PEP presents at their website a new partner: Stiga Sports.
Tell about yourself, who are you?
For the sports and leisure interested, the brand STIGA is almost an institution. The story begins already in 1934, when businessman Stig Hjelmquist in Småland, Tranås, started an import and wholesale company, mainly dealing with camping products and air rifles. Ten years later, the production of table tennis tables, racks and balls began to quickly become a name in the world of table tennis.
1957, which was a big year for the popular Ice Hockey national team Tre Kronor, STIGA fought to launch its first table hockey game PRO HOCKEY. Here too, the success was immediate, over 250,000 games were sold in the first two years, and to date more than five million games have been manufactured and sold in Sweden and abroad.
What attracted you in Generation PEP?
Generation PEP's and STIGA Sports' similar aim to promote the ability of all children to activate. To stimulate children, young people and their related adults to leave their sedentary digital everyday lives instead of choosing physical activities, natural play, sports and leisure activities all year round.
What do you hope we will accomplish together?
Long-term change and increased awareness.
GEN-PEP - Partner_ STIGA Sports

Stiga Sports wants to help Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel to make more children more active. They are now entering as a partner of the organization Gen-Pep. Stiga's part as a partner in the organization consists of selecting one or more products from Stiga's range labeled with Gen-Pep's logo and sold at a more favorable price, and partly that Stiga donates equipment to selected Gen-Pep projects around the country.

Again a work event for Daniel, which isn't at the calendar even now.

On Friday, 19th May, Daniel visited Bällstabergsskolan school in Vallentuna.
Vallentuna Municipality tells about the visit at their website:
Prince Daniel had wished to visit a qualitative, interesting and inspiring operation where physical activity and movement are in focus. The Court had been told of how Kerstin Nilsson, teacher/lecturer in sport and health, worked and therefore he wanted to visit Bällstabergsskolan. Nilsson has been working for a long time to increase physical activity in school with our children and young people, as well as raising awareness among colleagues and school leaders about this important subject.
Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria are very interested in these issues and are initiators of GEN-PEP, a non-profit organization that works to spread knowledge and create commitment to the health of children and young people. Together with actors from all over society, the organization wants to pursue ambitious and long-term public health work with children and young people in focus.
During the visit, Prince Daniel participated at an outdoor sports lesson together with Class 4A. He met the students and talked about the value of exercise, play and physical activity. Prince Daniel also had an opportunity to meet class 4C who had a wordwalk, which means that the students walk three laps on a lane outdoors while practicing vocabulary. This walk is conducted every week since studies show that movement stimulates learning. During the visit, Prince Daniel also had a tour at the school yard and he played King with students in grade 3. Class 4C also showed up their classroom gym which they have created themselves to get a break during the school day.
The day ended with "fika" and Prince Daniel was very pleased with his visit. He thought the school was nice and that the students were very talented in the subject of sport and health!

On Friday, the students at Bällstabergsskolan received a nice visit. Prince Daniel came and participated in sports lesson and break.
Everything was secret before the prince appeared.
It was school sports teacher Kerstin Nilsson, lecturer in sport and health who welcomed the visit. The court had been advised about the school and her work with movement and exercise in children. A subject that interests Prince Daniel.
"It was a long visit. He was very humble, knowledgeable about the subject and interested. It was also easy for him to meet the children", says Kerstin Nilsson.
She was very careful with the information about the Prince visit. Neither media nor the entire school were informed.
"We wanted it to be as calm as possible. But I made sure the flag was hoisted in the morning", says Kerstin Nilsson
"We thought it was great fun", said the school's principal Marie-Louise Yllner Geuken, about the visit that surprised her, as well as the children.
The visit can be seen as an activity within GEN-PEP, Generation Pep, a non-profit organization. Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria are the initiators of it.
To make children move more, is close also to the heart of the principal of Bällstabergsskolan. She has previously worked as a sports teacher.

Secret visit: Therefore the prince was at the Vallentuna School
Suddenly he stood there at the schoolyard. The whispering began to go along the corridors and at the schoolyard. Isn't it, it sounds like him, doesn't it?
Prince Daniel's visit to Bällstabergsskolan speeded up everyone, he was with pupils at the schoolyard and played ball games. "I do not remember the rules for King, tell me", he said, and the third-class students told him gladly and hung up at the schoolyard.
The royal visit was not advertised in advance, the prince wanted the students to be natural when he was going to check out how they exercise at the school. One of the few who knew about the visit was the gym teacher Kerstin Nilsson, whose work was also one of the reasons he wanted to visit the school.

GEN-PEP's project manager Carolina Klüft was one of the speakers at Nordic Health Convention held on 17th May at Svenska Mässan.
Carolina Klüft is Project Manager for GEN-PEP, an organization that works for all children and young people to have the opportunity and willingness to live an active and healthy life. They also work to increase engagement in children and young people around better eating habits. Carolina participates in the panel discussion at the Nordic Health Convention (NHC).
What are the main goals of GEN-PEP?
- To disseminate knowledge and raise awareness about the issues. It is important that we talk about these issues and I experience that we are on the right track. There are more and more who see the challenges we face and that Sweden must reverse the trend. We need to lower the thresholds so that more people get the opportunity to feel involved and get as many sections of society as possible.
GEN-PEP's work extends to cooperation with industry and universities and to create networks for those who are interested in and working on similar issues.

The nomination period for "Årets Peppare" has started

At the Sports Gala in January earlier this year, Prince Daniel delivered "Årets Peppare" Prize for the first time, to Futebol dá Força and its founder Cecilia Andrén Nyström. To find Årets Peppare, Generation Pep will collect nominations from the Swedish people. The nomination period is now open and collected digitally via GEN-PEP's website.
Nomination criteria
Årets Peppare Prize will go to a person, an organization or an initiative which with a focus on the joy and motivation has managed to get many children and young people in Sweden to move. It is important that the winner of Årets Peppare has managed to create motivation for physical activity in a fun filled and accessible way.
The winner will be presented during the Sports Gala in SVT in January 2018.

Gerda Nilsson Tjernström new managing director for Generation Pep
Almost a year ago, Generation Pep (GEN-PEP) was founded on the initiative of the Crown Princess couple with the vision that all children and young people should have the opportunity and willingness to live an active and healthy life. Together with prominent actors from the Swedish business community and the nonprofit sector, Generation Pep wants to pursue ambitious and long-term public health work with children and young people in focus. Today, the organization consists of five people, including Carolina Klüft who was recruited in September 2016. Now Gerda Nilsson Tjernström joins as new managing director.
Gerda Nilsson Tjernström is a Master of Science and Engineering and has a broad background from both the private and public sectors, including management consultant at McKinsey & Co and as deputy principal at the Eriksdalsskolan school in Stockholm.
- We have several major initiatives that will be launched shortly and with Gerda's background, both from business and school, we see that she will contribute much to our ambition to engage all parts of society to promote children's physical health, Says Elin Annwall, Managing Director of the Crown Princess Couple Foundation.
- Sedentary is one of today's biggest challenges. I think Generation Pep can have an incredibly important role to play by collecting good forces. I am impressed with the work done during these 11 months. Today, we have about 30 of the heaviest actors from Swedish business with us, we cooperate with universities, colleges and authorities and also have a lot of fantastic enthusiasts and associations who are passionate about the issue. There are so many who want to do something for children and young people and together I am convinced we can make a difference. I'm really looking forward to continuing this important work on Generation Pep, concludes Gerda Nilsson Tjernström, who starts at her job on August 1, 2017.

The court tells about Daniel's meeting with docent Anders Raustorp (from the University of Gothenburg) on Wednesday 21st June.
Anders emphasizes the importance of working with physical self-esteem in children and young people, and believes that sports teachers at school play an equally important role that parents do outside school. At the meeting, Anders Raustorp told me that already children move more in school than in their spare time.
"We need to go from sports performance to joy of motion and physical activity", says Anders. For smaller children, he believes that it is about exposing the children to different activities and allowing them as much as possible to test themselves. For the older children, it is about finding a harmony in the sports lessons, maintaining the commitment of the truly devoted and performance-oriented, while allowing those with fewer opportunities to be equally involved.
GEN-PEP and Raustorp start cooperation where Raustorp provides GEN-PEP the newest research results.

Generation Pep (GEN-PEP) celebrates one year today. Daniel launched it on 4th July 2016 in Almedalen.
On its first anniversary, GEN-PEP publishes a video, where Daniel tells about the health problems in Sweden.
"We suffer from big health problems, as a direct consequence of that we move too little, sit too much and eat more and other things which our body really wants. More people die on overweight and obesity than in malnutrition and starvation. Our children, who are made to be physically active, have found today adventure in passive sedentary in front of compuret screen. We are one of the most sedentary countries in Europe, we eat more sweets than any other nation in the whole world. Our four year olds spent almost half of their wake up time sitting. Depending on in what family you are born or where you live, the risk in long term to get diabetes type 2 is three times bigger than in socio-economically better area. The entire community must react to this extremely serious situation", says Daniel.
Then at the video is told that GEN-PEP was initiated by the Crown princess couple. The purpose of GEN-PEP is together with companies, organizations and driving forces encourage children and young people to physical activity and healthy eating habits.
So far we have
- spoken at the Almedalen week
- published a children's book
- founded the prize Årets Peppare
- launched an affordable gym bag with clothes
- made a film with Stephen Hawking
Be with us at the work to create a more healthy future to our children.

And because of that, GEN-PEP is hiring a project manager
GEN-PEP is looking for a project manager with immediate start to Stockholm. GEN-PEP has several major projects to be rolled, and needs to strengthen its team of five people when one of the employees goes on parental leave in the autumn.
As a project manager, your biggest area of responsibility during the autumn will be a comprehensive project which will be launched in late autumn and will go on for many years to come. You will also have operational responsibility to lead some of GEN-PEP's other initiatives, as well as work to support certain partners in their projects and activities.
In addition to directing the operational work of your projects, you will also communicate on a regular basis with some partners and have some administrative responsibility in internal projects. The job suits you who like to run projects, both in full and in detail, and have worked with project management in the past and now want the chance to do this in an exciting start-up phase.
As a person, you are a doer who in your work can relate to GEN-PEP's words "what we do must be true, relevant and interesting." You are self-reliant and relational, and are not afraid to contact new people. In order to succeed in your role as project manager, it is also of the utmost importance that you are structured and accurate, and can manage a number of parallel projects.
You will be employed in the Crown Princess Couple's Foundation by August 2017 at the latest. It is a temporary post 12 months full-time, with a high chance of continuation.

GEN-PEP and their partner H&M continue their cooperation.
Generation Pep and H & M launch autumn's sports collection for children and youngsters
Generation Pep (GEN-PEP) and H & M continue to develop their cooperation with the purpose of developing functional sportswear for children and young people at a favorable price. Today, a specially designed autumn collection is launched with the goal of enabling even more children to start moving. The new sports collection was available in selected H & M stores and webshop from August 10th.
Generation Pep (GEN-PEP) was founded on the initiative of the Crown Princess couple with the vision that all children and young people should have the opportunity and willingness to live an active and healthy life.
- We are very happy and proud to continue to be part of the Generation Pep initiative. Even this time, our uniquely designed GEN-PEP collection features functional and cool clothes, accessories and shoes for children and young people with affordable garments - aimed to inspire and give more opportunities for active free time, said Petra Buchinger, Press Contact H & M Sweden.
- Sedentary is one of today's biggest challenges. That children and young people move the least when school days are over and activity levels fall sharply on weekends, both among boys and girls of all ages, is something we have to change. We are very pleased with our cooperation with H & M and hope that the autumn's new collection will allow more people to buy training clothes for their children and increase the motivation for an active free time, says Gerda Nilsson Tjernström, managing director at GEN-PEP.
Autumn's collection is inspired by water sports in strong colors in red, blue, yellow and green with contrasts in neon. Prices between 39,50 and 149 SEK.

Generation Pep (GEN-PEP) and one of it's founding partners, Telia, launched an app to improve children and young people's health.

Sweden is one of Europe's most sedentary countries. While digitization improves everyday life and social functions at a furious speed, it also contributes to increased sedentary behind the screen. Fewer and fewer children and adolescents reach the recommendation with 60 minutes of physical activity per day. In cooperation with Telia, we use the technology's help to inspire and psych up into more ecercise everyday life. We are therefore launching Telia PEP! - The app that stimulates children and young people to move.
Telia PEP! has been developed together with children between ages of 9-12. Through the app, children are challenged for everyday motion and rewarded with surf with the aim that children will get in a fun way pep and motivation for everyday motion and exercise. To support parents who want to help their children to a healthier lifestyle, Telia has also developed a digital platform with inspiration, knowledge and pep for parents.
- Children and young people use our services to a large extent. So young people's health engages us. As a market leader, it is obvious for us to step up and take responsibility and we hope that with Telia PEP! we can inspire children and young people to move more, explains Hélène Barnekow, CEO of Telia Sweden.
Telia PEP! is available on the App Store and Google Play from August 17th.
- We are proud to be able together with Telia provide a concrete tool that motivates children to move more in everyday life. The mobile phone occupies a large part of many children's free time. Being able to use the mobile as a tool for breaking sedentary and instead inspire to movement gives a great opportunity for more children and young people to increase everyday motion, said Gerda Nilsson Tjernström, Managing Director at Generation Pep.
At telia.se/genpep, parents find expert tips, blog posts, and real-life views that deal with children, health and screening time.

"Here, Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle show how to build your own obstacle course with what's at hand - a simple and great way to create a sense of joy in everyday life!
The Crown Princess couple started organization Generation Pep in July 2016, which works to make all children and young people entitled to a healthy life. One of Generation Pep's main messages is the recommendation that all children and young people should move for at least 60 minutes a day - a level that few of Sweden's young people reach up to today.
There is a lot in the saying "children do as you do and not as you say" - there is a clear connection between how much the parents are moving and how much their children do.
In order to pay attention to the recommendation of 60 minutes of movement and also to encourage parents to move with their children, Generation Pep has launched Initiative "Together" where we demonstrate easy ways to engage with their children. First out are Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle".

Yesterday was GEN-PEP's first "PEP-dag" (PEP Day) at the Health Week in Flen, at Lida Gård. The leader was Carolina Klüft, who held the inauguration speech.

Organization GEN-PEP, initiated by the Crown Princess couple, organized an activity day for children in Flen. The goal is to encourage children's joy of movement.
The concept is new to the organization.
- We are testing this concept because we want to find out if we can find more driving spirits around the country, whether it's a matter of arranging it on a small scale or a larger scale, says Carolina Klüft, project manager at GEN-PEP.
During the day, visitors have tried a variety of activities, including riding, badminton, athletics, dance and golf. GEN-PEP has also organized a so-called Pep Race.
- There has been nice weather with a lot of people, and children who tested lots of sports. The joy of movement doesn't have to be about sports but moving in different ways. We have an unequal health in Sweden. Children sit still too much, and this is our way of doing something to it, said Klüft.
Carolina became famous as an elite athlete with many medals and loves to compete, but she says competition doesn't have to be in focus, if the child doesn't want it.
- Those who love to compete will get to compete. But it's primarily about engaging as many as possible and then you need activities that can engage everyone. What made me so good at sports was just that I managed to find the joy of exercise.

wrote an article, which was published yesterday, on World Obesity Day, at Dagens Industri DI.
Parts of the article:
Today, on World Obesity Day, we are forced to say that as much as every fifth child in Sweden suffers from overweight or obesity. Obese children often develop insulin resistance, blood fatigue and hepatic impairment. This can lead to illnesses such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease already in young years. Today, four-year-olds sit still almost half of their awake time, seven out of eight 13-year-olds move too little and Swedish children's nutrition intake amounts to 22 % of sugar. Unfortunately, there is no doubt that we must now consider childhood and adolescent obesity as a new national disease...
Against this background, Generation Pep (Gen-Pep), an organization founded by the Crown Princess couple, was founded last year with the aim of creating an opportunity and willingness for children and young people to live an active and healthy life regardless of socio-economic background. For more than a year, Generation Pep has worked in three main areas:
Partnership. About 30 actors from the Swedish business community are actively working with various health related initiatives for children and young people. One such example is a children's book, the purpose of which is to inspire families for business pleasure.
Driving forces. Children's and youth associations around the country have launched grassroot work to spread knowledge, "pepp" and inspiration about the importance of good health care.
Own initiatives. Knowledge dissemination of diet and physical activity in schools and local Pep days to increase joy of movement. Generation Pep will also hold a first Pep Forum at Karolinska Institutet on October 20th. There we gather several hundred actors from different parts of society, which we believe can contribute positively.
The work is in full swing but we need to do more, much more. We now call for more and wider action from politicians, authorities, researchers, civil society, industry, schools, individuals and families to address the problems.
Generation Pep wants to be a catalyst and one of many actors working on these issues. We want to test new tracks and forms of communication and new business ideas. We hope that we will succeed more often than we fail, but are aware that it will never be possible to progress if you are not prepared to fail.
And we have to do it together with others.
"60 minutes a day" and "500 grams a day" are two mantras which are associated with Generation Pep. It is the current recommendation time that a child needs to move every day and the amount of vegetables, fruits and berries that young people need per day... "60 minutes and 500 grams a day" doesn't solve everything, but they should solve a lot. Come on Sweden!

GEN-PEP published this humorous video, where comedian, actor and TV-host David Hellenius (looking like Daniel with glasses and GEN-PEP shirt) tells that every child should move 60 minutes in a day and tries to get his son Leo do an obstacle course, which Leo doesn't want to do. Hellenius says that Prince Daniel and Estelle did it and everyone thought it was cute and clapped their hands and thought it was cozy. Then Daniel comes to the place and says: What are you doing now? Are you imitating me again? Hellenius: No, what, imitate? No, of course I don't do that. But his son Leo says: You said that you wanted to be like prince Daniel. Hellenius: Now we will go, go home and eat 500 grams of fruit and green. That's good, says Daniel.
David Hellenius was one of the actors at Hey Baberiba (2005-07), in which they imitated the members of the royal family.
GEN-PEP has now published the Daniel and Estelle at an obstacle course video also at their Youtube.

It's great to see that Prince Daniel has humor. Or yes, we already knew that he has a pretty subtle special humor. But this joke movie with David Hellenius is a great way to send a message right into a young audience. Those whom Daniel and Victoria are trying to achieve through their organization Gen-Pep are children and adolescents and they are extremely sensitive to what is upset or wrong ... yes you with children understand what I mean. This movie is fun! Congratulations to the whole gang behind Gen-Pep!

Inspirators and experts talk about how together we can increase activity and movement in children and young people. A problem that Victoria and Daniel embarked upon early through the founding of Generation Pep, which works with just those questions.
Crown Princess Victoria began the day with a speech. She was welcomed by moderator, Leo Razzak (who often is as a moderator with Daniel at Prince Daniel's Fellowship school visits), who told about his first meeting with the Crown Princess.
- I was in a project with Fryshuset about honor violence and we, eight boys from the suburb, gathered in the City Hall. It really felt like we had made a class trip, Razzak said.
The Crown Princess would come there - which raised expectations among the eight guys who worked on the project.
- This was before you got married, said Razzak, generating laughter in the audience - and, of course, Victoria and Daniel.
He added:
- And we were so fascinated by the Crown Princess! So human, so down to earth ... We saw her, she saw us and it just said "click"!
"Click" was the word the king used to describe how it felt when he and Queen Silvia met for the first time. The Crown princess received Leo Razzak's words to her and Daniel with great joy.
- Thank you for the warm words, Leo, she said when she got up on stage.
Leo Razzak also told what it meant for him and his friends to meet Crown Princess Victoria.
- For us, in our class, our meeting changed forever the perception of the possibilities that lay in front of us!
Skådespelaren Leo Razzaks kärleksskämt till Victoria _ Kungligt _ Expressen

Expressen and Svensk Damtidning about Daniel's speech:
Six years. It is generally the difference in a lifetime between a uneducated and a highly educated person, Prince Daniel raised the class difference in a speech on the "Pep Forum", where he told why he and Crown Princess Victoria founded Generation Pep.
He marked strongly against inequality in human health and well-being.
- No, Sweden should be a country where all children and young people have the same conditions for an active life, he said in his speech.
Prince Daniel exemplified what a six-year shorter life means and linked it to his own daughter, Princess Estelle.
- We who have children know how much happens in six years and how much you miss if you can not be with. Our little girl there at home, Estelle, turns six years in February. Just the thought, I can hardly talk about missing a month or a year of her life due to ill health. I can hardly think of that personally, Prince Daniel said, remarkably moved.
- Six years is the entire trip from birth into the school's six-year-olds activity.
Prince Daniel pointed out concrete everyday situations:
- There are six birthdays with more and more candles on the cake. It's 300 cozy Fridays. But above all, it is more than 1,000 dull weekdays with dinner and leisure activities.
In his speech, he took up his own experience of ill health.
- When you suffer from ill health, which I have experience of, it is those dinners with friends and everyday life that you value the most.
Prince Daniel urged action and responsibility from all parts of society.
- We can not accept that some lives have so many fewer days than the lives of others. Just because you happen to be born in another family with other socio-economic conditions, the prince said.

Some participants of Idol 2017 sang at Pep Forum today. Idol 2017 is a TV4 program and TV4 is a partner of GEN-PEP.
Royal recharging for the evening's Friday final! Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel invited the Idols to Generation Pep because they are so important role models for young people to make them move! See more in Idol Extra tonight!

A young royal blogger was also at the Forum, and met Victoria and Daniel. She was interviewed on Victoria's birthday at SVT's program.
