Crown Princess Victoria was in Washington, DC today and attended a very low key (think paper cups) meeting at American University from about 10am - 1pm. Unfortunately, I didn't have the honor of meeting her (though I did get the chance to chat with her security detail) .

Apparently, wit is in short supply in some places.

She only arrived with 2 security persons...persons, because one was a women. I think both would have been considered "up to snuff". Worthy of a princess.

"But Mrs. Bush was keeping busy Wednesday, with at least two events on her calendar: an East Room awards ceremony for 18 organizations from the United States and Mexico that celebrate creativity in young people and a private coffee with Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden"

A Pole is receiving the Kluge Prize. I would have thought that a Swede would be getting it. O, well.

Hey Dennis ... when is your big day ?
That is, which day of the week is it, when you amble down Wilmington way to catch Victoria's fancy ?

That would be Saturday. Got the scanner to work so everything's ready there. Now I just have to take some good photos.

Don't forget the batteries. A spare set on a (very) cold day kept in a warm place, have saved many a day. :)

Ha ha ... and speaking of which, I was once in Boston shooting away, and saying "my, this is a big roll of film I have in here" when I opened the camera, there was no film to be seen.

Well, I'm going to a camera shop to have someone put the film in. I'm not taking any chances. I have lost film to a variety of things but most of the time it's from dropping the camera or for putting the film in wrong.
