Princess Victoria & Prince Daniel's Official Visit to Finland: November 1-2, 2010

When Victoria and Daniel come to Finland in November, I'll be there for sure, where ever they go!

More information from Finnish newspaper: They will meet Finland's president Tarja Halonen (probably in Helsinki), go to Helsinki's neighbor city, Espoo, and a bit farer, to the city of Lahti.
 
Here's some information about Victoria & Daniel's visit in Lahti, Espoo and Helsinki, Finland (November 1-2).

Lahti citizens have sent a lot of wishes about where they would like to invite Victoria and Daniel on their visit in the city of Lahti, Finland. According to this paper, Victoria and Daniel want to meet the citizens of Lahti, especially children in schools. People living in Lahti are proud that Victoria and Daniel have chosen their city for the visit.

In Lahti Victoria and Daniel will have just a day-trip, and after that they will go back to Helsinki to the Presidential Palace to have a dinner there.

Victoria and Daniel will visit Tiirismaa High School in Lahti, where they will take a look into Swedish language education in Finland. They will also visit Sibelius Concert House (Sibeliustalo :: FI), where they will have a lunch. In program will be a short symphony concert too. They also take a look into renewable energy research center.

On the second day of their visit, in Helsinki, Victoria and Daniel will have a visit at young people's action center, have lunch at the city house, and open a Finnish-Swedish seminar in Espoo, Hanasaari Swedish-Finnish Culture Center (Hanaholmen in Swedish). Also, I read from today's Ilta-Sanomat paper magazine that Victoria and Daniel will come to Finland with a normal route flight from Sweden on Sunday, 31st October, and they will have a room in some of the Helsinki center hotels. They also meet president Tarja Halonen and Dr. Pentti Arajärvi in their residence, Mäntyniemi, in Helsinki, as the first thing they do on Monday morning.

Tiirismaa high school in Lahti is actually closed for autumn holidays at the time of their visit, but students and teachers will come to school just for meeting Victoria and Daniel...

I just followed live broadcast provided by Finnish newspaper Iltalehti, and I saw Victoria and Daniel arriving in the vip terminal of Helsinki airport. Victoria was wearing a dark blue suit. She said to the photographers who were waiting there: "What a welcome!"

I just have to ask, is there something like a unnormal flight:)?

They also could have taken Silja och Vikingline ferries, could have been intresting....

Wounder why they didnt go to a certain fortress on this trip:)
 
Normal route flight means like... not a private flight. :flowers:
Ferry trip would last one night, I suppose they are too busy for that.

Well, they are going on to Norrbotten after Finland and then they can rest some.

And the fortress i mean is Sveaborg/Soumalina(or what its called in Finland)

Wounder how many trips they will make the first year?

Suomenlinna :)

In an interview to Finnish media some days ago Victoria said that she remembers clearly her first trip to Helsinki in 1996, when she arrived with her parents in a military ship and passed by Sveaborg/Suomenlinna fortress. There was a lot of private boats around welcoming them.

When Victoria arrived to her hotel in Helsinki (Hotel Haven, http://www.hotelhaven.fi/en) she forgot her handbag on the bench of the police car that picked them up from the airport. But she got it back, happy end :)

I decided to go to Lahti (1 hour from Helsinki) to see Victoria and Daniel. It was worth it! They walked long way (poor Victoria without a coat in cold wind and 8 Celsius degrees) talking and waving to thousands of people who had gathered around Sibeliustalo in Lahti. I was among the first 30 people who arrived there, so I got a really good place for photographing.

Click also the next video where Victoria goes to meet school pupils in Lahti. In that video a journalist asks what Victoria likes most in Finland and she smiles and opens her arms wide and says: "You!" meaning the people.

Svensk Damtidning (whose photographer and journalist I myself photographed in Lahti) writes that at the school in Lahti Daniel was celebrated as a king instead of prince. Victoria said she didn't expect so many people outside of the school. She said she was moved.

President Tarja Halonen told Victoria and Daniel that Finnish people love them, and offered them morning coffee with the president couple's two cats in the private part of their residence.

Well, the only downside was that she wasnt looking into the camera like Daniel did in that picture. One other thing that struck me when i looked at that picture that i hadnt thought of before was that she looked extremly like her mother at the same age.

Did you shout at damtidningens cameraman or how did you manage to get him to look straight at you?

Victoria and Daniel had to make smoothie with pupils at Tiirismaa high school. Victoria was worried about her white dress when she heard what was in program, but everything went fine. Students were divided into two leagues who had Victoria and Daniel as captains. They had to make smoothies with the recipe of a chef from Åland island.

The city of Lahti gave Victoria and Daniel handmade jewelry, made by Helena Lehtinen.

The pupils of Tiirismaa high school told that Daniel was telling jokes. And Daniel tried to use the whole banana, so that Victoria wouldn´t get any... Daniel also praised that the pupils spoke very good swedish.

Can it be that Victoria chooses her dresses for state visits thinking of the colors of the flag of that country? This came to my mind already when Victoria was in China, wearing that bright red dress. Instead today Victoria had white dress during the day and blue in the evening (at the dinner at Presidental Palace). Like the flag of Finland.

Im surprised she was worried, I always thought they got a detailed programme for every visit so they are aware on what to do and what they will do.

The dress worn to the dinner is recycled, nice hair do but I dont like the shoulder pads on the dress.
She looks quite happy in the pictures which is nice to see.
