Since I plant a lot of flowers for yard customers, I am thrilled to learn that the Geranium Estelle is named after Princess Estelle. It is such a pretty color. :flowers::flowers:

I said it with his sister, I can't believe he is 5 already.

It seems the indoor photos for both birthdays were taken the same day (based on his clothes). Makes sense during all of this and being so close.

I love the pictures of them playing out in the snow.

I love all of these pictures! He seems like such an active and lively little boy, and the pictures really capture his personality. It's been fun to see his personality develop, too- he always seemed to be such a serious baby (so did Estelle, actually) but he's become a really happy-looking little boy.

Oscar is a beautiful little boy and he reminds me of a mixture of Daniel and Estelle when she was that age.

Nice to see that Rio makes an appearance in the birthday photos!

When Estelle was born, Dagens Industri founded a portfolio of shares of ten large Swedish companies that are managed for her 18th birthday. The portfolio has thus come halfway to the goal.
The Estelle portfolio has given a total return of 221 percent since the start, which is in line with the SIX Return Index which has increased 222 percent. However, the portfolio had a weak last year with an increase of 2.9 percent compared with the index which increased by 13.5 percent. Dagens Industri now chooses to make a change in the portfolio, security company Securitas is discontinued and replaced by pharmaceutical company Astra Zeneca. The magazine also weights down Atlas Copco and SCA and weights up Tele2 and Essity.

Princess Estelle of Sweden: already darling of the press
Prinzessin Estelle von Schweden_ Schon jetzt Liebling der Presse

Daniel told about Estelle and Oscar at some of his latest work events:
Oscar goes to football school and loves playing football. They have a wooden goal on the plot at Haga Palace and Oscar wanted to stand in the goal and said "shoot high dad!".
Estelle is a basketball girl. She has already played two basketball matches but then no parents were allowed in the hall, it was incredibly boring. It's really one of the highlights of the weekend when you can follow their training and see how they develop and fight, Daniel said.
Daniel told also that he and Victoria often go into the woods with Estelle and Oscar and they do a lot of sports. Estelle and Oscar are often also playing in their garden.

Michael Wiander, swedish children's book author, sent Estelle a Dexter Olsson-book (Flykten till Vulkanön) as a birthday gift.
He received a thank you letter from the court on behalf of Victoria and Daniel.

:previous: LadyFinn, These additional pictures definitely confirm your previous declaration: Princess Estelle Darling of the press.
She and her brother Prince Oscar are very content in these photos. Happy children signifies happy parents.

I love these photos because whether they are wearing national or regional dress they are just as happy as when they are wearing their best dress or playing around the garden clothes, their laughs and smiles are all the same.

I especially love Estelle's pink sandshoes with no laces. That is real, kids do that, just as they may decide they don't want to wear shoes, etc. Somehow, with love, laughter and some hard learnt lessons, Victoria and Daniel seem to be bringing up two well-behaved and well-rounded children.

It's partly the fact that Estelle and Oscar are really adorable, loving, and happy. But the family must know some superb photographers.

From her mother's birthday pictures, Estelle is seemingly going to be very, very tall. I wonder which part of the family it comes from?

Is Daniel tall or are his parents? I thought Daniel was about 6 feet or 1.8m.

I noticed that too. The dress Victoria wore at her 10th birthday seemed a bit large (we can't see her knees). But you can see Estelle's knees with that dress and she is 9 years old. Victoria is not super tall but she is not short either. Madeleine is tall. Maybe Estelle took some of her aunt's genes?

According to Svensk Damtidning, Victoria is 168 cm tall and Madeleine 170 cm. Some media says that Victoria is 170 cm and Madeleine 172 cm. Daniel is 180 cm tall. At this photo we can see very well that the height difference between Victoria and Madeleine isn't big:

Crown Princess Victoria is 168 cm tall while Princess Madeleine is 170 cm tall so the difference in height between the two aren't that large.

It's possible the dress might have been altered or shortened for Estelle, but it's more the general look of her — she's become all arms and legs lately and she easily appears like she could be 11 now, not 9 and a half. She has lots and lots of room to get taller at this point. Perhaps it's from the King's paternal side? Or Silvia's?

Svensk Damtidning:
In order for Estelle to be able to fulfill her honorable duties, a queen school is required. Something that Victoria has gone through, and in fact still goes through.
- You can't represent a country if you don't know how it works, former Marshal of the Court and Head of Victoria's Household Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg told SVT.
On Estelle's first school day the uproar was great, the press, radio and television were in place when she met her future classmates.
- It is the same attention from the public as when the Crown Princess started school. But I think Estelle already has a sense of what is required in the royal work, Tarras-Wahlberg told SVT.
Estelle has already represented at various official gatherings.
- She has already been with her parents on various assignments. She has visited Östergötland, the county where she is a duchess, and participated in official National day and name day celebrations, Tarras-Wahlberg said.
Estelle has visited the Treasury, the Bernadotte Library and the Royal Collections Department to get an insight into the history of the monarchy.
First out was the Treasury, an exciting study visit for a 7-year-old. Estelle saw her future queen's crown, made in 1854, and took a closer look at the baptismal font used at her own christening. At the Royal Collections Department Estelle, Oscar and Victoria looked at the royal palaces' furniture, ornaments, carpets, curtains and wallpapers. Victoria and the King took Estelle to the Bernadotte Library, which has over one hundred thousand books belonging to the Bernadotte family. They visited also the Nationalmuseum.
- It's probably good to take one step at a time. Both Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are very educational and want the children to be children, Tarras-Wahlberg said.
Estelle could both write and read before she started school. Her parents believe that language skills are important and the family has had an English-speaking nanny.
A thorough community education and international visiting program is on the schedule after the upper secondary school.
- I think the most important qualities for royalty are to learn to see other people and be a part of society. I think the king's motto "For Sweden - With the times" is unbeatable, it really says everything that is required of a modern monarch, Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg told SVT.

Estelle has also visited exhibition "Vivat Regina", which showed the national treasures that were used at Queen Kristina's coronation in 1650. She visited the Stockholm Cathedral to get acquainted with the church organ. She has visited "Look at the rugs – find me", a selection of textile artist Märta Måås-Fjetterström's rugs at the Royal Collections. She visited Kristina Gyllenstierna's statue at the Outer Courtyard and got to know about Kristina Gyllenstierna and the Stockholm Bloodbath.
