Swedish TV4 has as theme at the whole week's Nyhetsmorgon -programs (News morning) organdonations.
They have a short clip of Daniel telling that if you are willing to take an organ when you need it, you should also be able to save lives by donating an organ. One person can save 8 people's lives by donating organs.

Nyhetsmorgon is now launching the campaign #blidonator to highlight how important it is to donate. In Sweden dies around 90 000 people every year, but only about 150 of these are organ donors.

TV4's Nyhetsmorgon showed today a 3-minute clip of Daniel's interview, which will be shown as a whole on Sunday.
Daniel was on a visit to Karolinska Universitetshospital, where he 5 years ago was at a transplant operation, he got a kidney from his father. First Daniel talks with a man who is going to an operation. Daniel says that he is very grateful. He says that he trains regularly and he hasn't had any problems during these 5 years. He is surprised of that, he thought that there would be something troublesome, but there really hasn't been.
Then Daniel meets his doctor and says that it is always special to come to the hospital and meet doctor Lars. Daniel says that it is great to meet other patients and because he has experienced an transplant operation, he can say something encouraging and show how well everything can really go. Daniel is grateful of this experience, to know how people have it, 3000 people in Sweden go every week to a dialysis and are waiting for a new organ. The situation shouldn't be so and something should be done to that. People maybe don't have enough information about organ donations. Daniel says that if he dies, he could save 7 lives (he has only one kidney to donate) by donating his organs. It shouldn't be difficult for people, but there is a problem between the will to donate and actually to register oneself as a donor.

His Royal Highness Prince Daniel supports the fight for more organ donations in Sweden by becoming the patron of the non-profit association MOD. Prince Daniel has a long time been involved in raising awareness and knowledge about this vital issue and to change the attitude towards organ donation in Sweden.
In health care we talk about "Prince Daniel" effect when one has clearly been able to see a correlation between the number of notifications in the donation register on the occasions that Prince Daniel has officially talked about organ donation and the importance of making their will known. This attention gives results. So far this year there has been, for example, over 70,000 notifications to the donation register which is more than double the figure for the years 2011 and 2012. Perhaps the most important effect is that the number of transplants has never before been as many as in 2013 in Sweden and we are about to do even more transplants during 2014.

I fully agree on Daniel's merits. I wonder whether we can really judge objectively the level of respect he gets from the royal family, or where speculations start. KCG is known as rather feeling uneasy in many circumstances, or rarely appearing smiling.
Having his son in law doing better in communication skills and in popularity scores, does certainly not help. It is rare that initial negative feelings towards future son/daughter-in-law eventually turn into real sympathy or admiration:sad:
Not sure it is a bad a possibly reported in the press. At last year's Nobel ceremony, where Daniel was on his own due to a trip of Victoria, there was a picture of CG smiling to Daniel.
Sure CG will not change, hopefully the situation is not too bad for Daniel. Anyway it was said also on this Forum that he is enjoying a good relationship with queen Silvia.
 
Daniel attended today at the meeting of the Board of En Frisk Generation (Healthy Generation Foundation). He is the patron of the foundation.
 
The dutch news website about kidneys and kidney disease writes about Daniel's interview in TV4.

Expressen has also a short clip of Daniel's interview on TV4, which will be shown tomorrow at TV4 Nyhetsmorgon (at 10.15 according to the preliminiary information). Daniel says that he feels very well and strong. Also his father is feeling fine. He says also that by the donation there has come a special bond between him and his father.

TV4 showed today the whole video of Daniel's interview and visit with TV4's reporter Jenny Alversjö to Karolinska Hospital. Daniel met two women, sisters. The other had donated her kidney to her sister. Daniel met them just 5 days after the operation. He was happy that the both sisters were doing so well. And said that it was similar after his own operation. Almost right away he asked from the hospital staff if he could watch the final of the Champions league. The hospital had the channel and he could watch it.
Daniel said that the community must be able to do something, so that people don't die when they are waiting for an organ. He understands how frustrated those people are when they see that everything is going to end before they get an organ. Now as a parent he feels the pain and sorrow to know that if the whole community and people as individuals would do everything they can, this shouldn't be a problem.
When Daniel left the two women, he asked them if he could check from senior physician Lars Wennberg (who was there too) some times how the women are doing. Absolutely, the women said.

Daniel met today Martha Ehlin and Peter Carstedt, the founders of MOD - Mer organdonation (More organ donation). They told about the theme week that just ended. During the week the issue of organ donation was raised in order to increase the number of Swedes who take a position in the donation request. During the week over 15000 people registered themselves as donors.
Daniel is the patron of Mer organdonation, the patronage was released on last Friday.
The court has put Daniel's interview on TV4 and his speech at the Transplantation jubilee to the article.

Peter Carstedt told in TV4's Nyhetsmorgon that last week totally over 20000 people registered themselves to the donation register, normally in one week 500 people do that. Carstedt told also that one person dies in Sweden in a week while waiting for an organ. So it is extremely important that people register themselves as donors.

Daniel had on Tuesday at the Royal Palace a meeting with Göran Harnesk, the secretary general of the Swedish Floorball Federation. The 10th Men´s World Floorball Championships are organized in Gothenburg on 5th - 14th December.

Today Daniel delivered the Golden Gavel Award at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm. The Golden Gavel is an award for outstanding performance in the role of chair of a company board. The aim is to highlight and increase awareness of the crucial role of the chair in efficient, effective and business oriented board work.

Daniel delivered today the Super Gazelle Award at Dagens Industri's Gazelle Gala at the Stockholm Concert Hall. The gala rewards the best entrepreneurs and companies in Sweden. Two of the successful entrepreneurs interviewed this evening, Kristina Lindhe and Alessandro Catenacci, are experts at Prince Daniel's Fellowship entrepreneurship program.
Daniel arrived with Gunilla Herlitz (CEO of Dagens Nyheter, Dagens industri and Expressen and Head of the business area Bonnier News) and Hans-Jacob Bonnier (Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Bonnier Business Press AB). The winner of the Super Gazelle Award is ApoEx.

In the afternoon Daniel visited Uppstart Malmö. Uppstart Malmö runs as a foundation without private profit. They think that entrepreneurship creates jobs. Jobs strengthen growth and confidence - and reduce segregation and isolation. Two companies, Yogiboost and Dresstwice, introduced their work to Daniel, Kerstin Mühlow, founder of children's clothing webbshop Dresstwice, gave Daniel an organic and ethically made girl's dress.

An impressed Prince Daniel visited Uppstart Malmö on Thursday. Since the Foundation was founded three and a half years ago, it has created over 1,200 new jobs in Malmö.
Daniel has followed Uppstart Malmö's work ever since it started over three years ago. Today he was on a visit for an update and to gain insight into the business growth of Malmö, which is run by the Foundation auspices.
- It is so important that the municipality and the private sector work together. And there are enthusiasts like Dan Olofsson, who are willing to put the time and even money. They had the ambition to create 1000 jobs and have created 1250, it's actually quite incredible, says Daniel.
Daniel is optimistic about the future of business in the region.
- Earlier today I was at Trelleborg AB, a fine classical company that has succeeded in transforming it's business portfolio and done it very well. And I know that it just comes more good startups. So I think you have something going on here too.

"Think it's so much fun to hang out with entrepreneurs, there really is a certain type of person. The people I met have so much energy and is so relaxed and tagged on to help others. I had thought the prince would be a bit stiff and "royal" but he pulled lot of jokes and was actually a super lovely and friendly man.

On Tuesday Daniel met Martin Dworén, Head of Public Affairs at Fryshuset at the Royal Palace. And later he attended at the board meeting of the Advisory Board of Falun 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships.

But here we see just a small inkling of what Victoria fell in love with. He is obviously very comfortable in this his own skin at this gala event, but one that is mostly unseen by the public.

Well, Daniel's friend said at a TV-program about Victoria and Daniel before the wedding, that Daniel is extremely social and can talk easily with anyone. And after he became a prince, everyone has been able to see it with their own eyes.
 
Daniel attends on Thursday at the Swedish Ski Association's "All young people on Snow" -day at Hammarbybacken. The day tries to give every young girl and boy in the 4-grades (10 years old) the opportunity to try different snow sports and ski.
- It is gratifying and an honor for us that Prince Daniel is interested in our event. The prince's got a genuine interest in health, nature and sports and our day includes all this. The visit will also help to raise awareness of the issue of children's leisure activities which are dear to our hearts, says Charlotta Bürger Bäckström, project manager.
