Glad to read about another successful engagement of Daniel!! He looked great, and hold a well thought speech.

I think this time he has new glasses: they seem to contain several colours, instead of only black, and are lighter??! or just an impression?

Yes, they seem to be new, you can see them better on this video

Daniel joked that "Great to see that a research grant for young researchers goes to someone born 73".

I think you might be correct. They do look different, lighter in color. Almost tortoise shell in appearance. Very nice. Also, he seems so animated and engaged during his speech, great engagement. Daniel is such a delight to watch.

Daniel arrived in the morning to his visit in Åland, Finland. The weather was bad and the flight was a little late.

Its good to see Daniel out and about, carrying out engagements independently, and building up a place for himself in the SRF machine. Well done.

Daniel met in Åland his friend football player Mattias Wiklöf, he plays at Marieham IFK. Mattias came to meet Daniel to the Maritime Museum. They became friends when they were children and lived in the same street and played ice hockey at the same team. They talked quite a while and hugged in the end. Mattias said that talked about everything. For example, about his brother who has just been ill. He had met Daniel after last Christmas during the holidays. When they meet, they always play floor ball, and Daniel still hates losing, like when they were young.
Mattias was also asked how they spent their time at a young age. He said that Daniel didn't drink beer when they were young.

Margareta Heed from Svensk Damtidning writes: "I wish you all could see what a great job Prince Daniel does when he represents the Royal Court. He is curious and well-read, playful, happy and friendly. As if he was born into the role of prince! The prince told by the way that he was very happy about the visit to the lovely Åland people".

MTV3's reporter asked about Daniel of his finnish roots, some of his ancestors were forest finnis who moved from Finland to Sweden in 1600's. Daniel said that he doesn't know very much about these roots yet but that he is very happy that he has finnish ancestors.

From Hufvudstadsbladet/Åland24 video:
Photographer Natalia Mikkola gave some of her photos to Daniel, she said that she thinks one of the photos would be nice for a child's room. Daniel's friend Mattias Wiklöf said that Daniel is 6 years older than him but they became friends while playing at the same icehockey team. He thinks that Daniel hasn't changed at all after he became a prince. The director Hanna Hagmark-Cooper of the Maritime Museum said that it was great that Daniel took the challenge and climbed to the mast, the director does it often, but not with so much media as this time. She told also that she and Daniel had a nice conversation about children's books. Daniel said that he has learned a lot about the history of Åland, how they have been dependent of the sea and maritime industry and how important it still is. Daniel was asked if he was a boat person himself, and Daniel laughed that he has a small boat, it certainly isn't a ship. Speaker Britt Lundberg was very satisfied with the day, everything has gone really well, the prince is a very thankful guest. She says that she feels that there might become a tradition that Åland gets guests from the Royal Family. Daniel was like she had thought: very nice, easy to talk to, well informed and very interested in Åland. She thinks that Åland interests the Royal Family because there lives a lot of swedish speaking people and because it's autonomy. The speaker is also happy about the big media interest in the visit of Daniel.

Daniel got a special champagne bottle as a gift from Silverskär in Åland.

In July 2010 a group of divers found the world´s oldest champagne in a shipwreck in the southern part of Åland´s archipelago. The shipwreck champagne was well preserved, and of sensationally good quality thanks to ideal conditions at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The storage conditions by Silverskär are similar to the ones by the shipwreck, and since 2011 Silverskär also stores champagne in a large cage at the sea bottom. "Le Grand Cage" weighs 370 kilos empty, and a total amount of 450 bottles can be stored in the cage.
The divers of Silverskär will dive and get Daniel's bottle to him when he wants to get it.

Daniel this evening at the FIFA World Cup qualifier Sweden-Germany, at Friends Arena. He sits at the same box as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who took a tactical yellow card in last match and misses now this but can play at the important play off games. The old man beside Daniel is Kurt Hamrin, a former footballer, who played mostly in Italy.

This week's Svensk Damtidning has an article about Daniel's trip to Åland
Stoppa pressarna quotes the article in Svensk Damtidning. It is a page that quotes articles of the swedish newspapers and magazines.

The article tells that inside the Maritime museum the director says that the prince will get to climb the mast. Prince Daniel climbed happily up and joked that "a fall here would have been a good media news."
And when they were returning, at the plane the hostess becomes nervous when she has to go through security and says that Daniel makes her nervous. He counters with a "you are doing great," and a smile.

I like everything about Daniel. He is a tremendous asset to Sweden.

The reporter of the finnish gossip magazine Seiska (it's like Se & Hör and it's sister magazines) followed Daniel's visit in Åland last Thursday. Normally the magazine writes very negative stories, since the bad press sells better, they think.
But the report of Daniel's visit is extremely positive. The reporter writes that this was the fourth time she saw Daniel at work. Daniel has every time been very easy to come close to, relaxed and friendly. In Åland Daniel tried to pay attention to everyone, greet everyone with a friendly nod and he also paid attention to the media very well. When the speaker of the Parliament was taking Daniel out of the door, Daniel said: "Let's stop here", and posed for the photographers and talked a little to the media. He had no press conferences, but he spoke often to the media and told how he felt about the events. He answered to the questions and joked, he has a great sense of humour. The reporter writes that Daniel doesn't play the second fiddle beside Victoria. He is a brilliant business card to the swedish court and can polish the damaged reputation of the court. The reporter thinks that even though Daniel has been trained before he became a prince, his great sense of humour and natural charm is something he has always had. These are things you can't learn, either you have them or don't have.

Svensk Damtidning's Margareta Heed writes in her article that when Daniel told her in Åland "I'm going to tell at home that the visit here was excellent with many exciting events. The Åland people have a great "go"!". At the Åland airport on the way to the plane he greeted the reporters: "Now the work is done for today! It has been enjoyable, hasn't it? Many great meetings!" At the plane the air hostess was nervous when she had to tell about the security functionss, she was stammering and said to Daniel that he is making her nervous. "I think you are doing great", said Daniel and smiled. The hostess continued better now and when she had told everything, Daniel turned to the reporters and said "That was super, wasn't it?" and everyone applauded for the hostess.

Daniel visits Ängslättskolan in Malmö with the Minister for Health and Social Affairs Göran Hägglund on Monday 11th November. During the visit Daniel and minister Hägglund get background information on the Bunkeflo project. The project started in 1999 and was a collaboration between Änglslättskolan and the local sports club to get kids to exercise more in order to increase their welfare. The project has since evolved into a model, Bunkeflo model, which has spread to many schools around the country.

Look, who is the king on the basketball court ... Prince Daniel showed today that old play skills are still from his early years in Ockelbo basketball club.
- Did you see my shot? he asked proudly.
At the Ängslätt school is an extended school day five days a week with 45 minutes sports on the schedule every day with quickly noticeable results.
- Unbelievably good and important. We should all move more. Just look here at the school which positive effect it has. It is important, not only in school, to get that daily exercise. If you move every day this study shows that the results will be better, said Daniel as he today received a demonstration of the project.
4A class had their sports lesson when the Prince was visiting and it was a variant of basketball, the schook calls it basketfia. Basketball in a whole new way, but it wasn't difficult for the prince, he quickly went into one of the teams and pepped his teammates:
- Now we win this one. Come on. This will go well.
One of the moments in basketfia was that as soon as possible dribble around a taped track. When it was Prince's turn, he took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. Then he threw himself in the path of the ball and it went considerably fast.
Afterwards, he was a little impressed with himself and admitted that he actually has a past in Ockelbo as a basketball player.
- Well, actually, but that was long time ago. Then I was like this little, he said, and swung his hand. But some skills are still there.
The minister for Health and Social Affairs, Göran Hägglund was impressed by the prince's fighting spirit and afterwards he gave praise:
- Well done.
Daniel smiled a little embarrassed.

The pupils:
- I was a bit nervous before. I wondered if I would have to sit back extra straight when Prince Daniel arrived. But I did not have to sit very straight, said Nora Hedlid.
- Both were nice and behaved like ordinary people, says Liam Johansson.

Many people talk about it, but do not dare to do it. Sweden needs more self-employed people. It's about to realize a dream. When I ran my business, I wanted to make change and make dreams come true".
Daniel also said that he believes that Sweden will win tomorrow's important football qualifier against Portugal. According to the article Daniel and Victoria will attend at the match.

I really like this young man, he has with stood the pressures of marrying into a royal family and has passed with flying colors. He and Princess Victoria are such a wonderful couple and loving parents who are great role models for the rest of the world. Best of wishes to them in the new year!

Well said!
I do not only have the greatest respect for his attitude, behaviour and work, I also think, he is one of the most "successful" additions as consort of a future Monarch.

Daniel attended on Monday evening at the Svenska Hjältar (Swedish Heroes) Awards gala. Daniel handed out "Årets Kämpe" (The Fighter of the Year) -award to Martha Ehlin, founder of the organization MOD - Mer organdonation (MOD - More organ donation). The jury said that Martha receives the award because "Martha is a hero who with new five organs defeated cancer and now uses her newfound life to fight for more organ donors in Sweden."
Martha founded the organization MOD along with Peter Carstedt. MOD's ambition is to start a movement around organ donation issue in Sweden by increasing knowledge and understanding about organ donation so that more people in Sweden say yes to donating.
