I was telling someone about Victoria the other day. I mentioned the dyslexia and the anorexia. But I didn't tell her what she was. I mean I think I said Victoria Bernadotte. The name didn't ring a bell. But anyway, the person was impressed with her without even meeting her.

The translation is correct. I dont recognize the front page, I don´t think that´s the latest number of "Se och Hör" so propably it´s about the dyslexia again...

As much as I know, it is the current issue (released on Wednesday)...I hope Yennie ran already through the pages (a little breaking up compared with the 400-pages study-stuff) and know what it means

About the Se & Hör atricle: Yes it was about her dyslexia. Sooo old.
I HATE it when the mags make up stories like this... They made it seem like Victoria had a serious ánd life threathening disease with that line

You don't have to be stupid just because you're dyslexic. This was a lesson for CP Victoria at a conference for dyslexics in Bruxelles.

Man behöver inte vara dum i huvudet bara för att man är dyslektiker.
Det fick kronprinsessan Victoria lära sig vid en dyslexikonferens i Bryssel i går.
- Det var spännande och roligt, sa kronprinsessan.
För två år sedan berättade Victoria offentligt om sina läs- och skrivsvårigheter.
- Bokstäverna hoppade. Alla skrattade.
- Tidigt fick jag veta att det inte var mitt fel. Ändå hade jag svårt att acceptera det. Jag kände mig så dum.

Tränade minnet
Men minnesexperten Dominic O"Brien, själv dyslektiker, visade med eftertryck att dyslexi inte har något med bristande begåvning att göra.
Själv råkade han ut för en olycka i barndomen. Sedan kunde han inte lära sig att läsa och skriva ordentligt.
- Jag blev mobbad i skolan. Men jag lärde mig en metod för att komma ihåg.
I går visade han sina minnestricks för Victoria och prinsessan Margaretha av Lichtenstein, som är Dyslexia Internationals beskyddare, vid dyslexikonferensen i Bryssel.
O"Brien har tränat upp sitt minne med spelkort. Han avslöjade sina knep för Victoria.
- För varje kort tänker jag på en känd person. Spader kung är den brittiske premiärministern Tony Blair. Hjärter dam får bli kronprinsessan själv.
- Jag aktiverar båda hjärnhalvorna och förstärker bildminnet.
Och bildminnet är imponerande. Senast kom han ihåg alla korten i 54 blandade lekar. Totalt 2 808 kort och världsrekord.
- Man är alltså inte dum för att man har dyslexi - man kan i stället ha starka andra förmågor.

"Man ska aldrig mobba"
Victoria är mycket engagerad i olika metoder för att hjälpa barn med läs- och skrivsvårigheter.
- Man ska aldrig mobba, säger hon till Aftonbladet.
- Det är fortfarande inte ovanligt att barn med läs- och skrivsvårigheter blir mobbade av skolkamrater och ibland också av oförstående lärare.

Actually 2007 is again not the best year for a wedding. Nearly all the young female high profile guests got pregnant, the internship belonging to the diplomacy course should be in summer, the 30th bday should be celebrated, Daniel is probably prefering to be in the black with his gyms...but I guess one could always sqeeze a wedding in this crowded schedule. Better than waiting 6 years with a wedding and celebrating the 30th bday without her darling

I agree, she looks better than ever before. And she is still "trying". For this dyslexia thing, I had expected 100% secretary look...but I was wrong...fortunately.

Crown princess Victoria talks about her dyslexia:

Victoria tells: It hasn´t gone so many years when I read my first book. I have to use a ruler when I read.
The crown princess understood quite early that she had inherited her father´s handicap, dyslexia. (Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that manifests primarily as a difficulty with written language, particularly with reading and spelling. Although dyslexia is the result of a neurological difference, it is not an intellectual disability.).
"It was in fact my mother who noticed my dyslexia at the beginning", Victoria tells.

The crown princess visited yesterday Bjorkesta school in Nykvarn outside Stockholm and handed the Bertil Hults Prize and 500 000 Swedish Crowns for their work involving dyslexia.
After the award ceremony Expressen got a unique chat with Victoria. She revealed how difficult she has with her handicap.
- "I have always had it very difficult to read. I have in principle never read a book voluntarily"
How does this effect to your life?
- "Everything takes a longer time. It is difficult to concentrate. But you learn from different situations and you invent your own methods that make it easier".
What was the most difficult at school?
- "That I always compared myself with my schoolmates, who didn´t have the same handicap. Then I saw how slow I was. People sat and glanced at their books. After a time it was just me who was glancing. Everyone else had gone ahead and I stayed at the same page and trampled".
What advice would you give to children and youngsters that are at the same situation?
- "You should never forget that dyslexia has nothing to do with intelligence. You have strengths and weaknesses. You just have to find you strengths so that you can compensate your weaknesses.
Victoria also praised the winner of the Bertil Hults Prize, the Bjorkesta school in Nykvarn:
- "They are absolutely fantastic. It is amazing that they have had strength to carry out their plan to help all pupils with dyslexia".

That isn't very handy for a royal, but luckily she can use ladies in waiting who help her. Nice that the Crownprincess is open about her disabilities (also about dyslexia in the past).
