Default Daniel Westling's Gym

Daniel Westling's Master Training is one of Sweden's most exclusive gyms.
Daniel Westling has trained CP Victoria as well as Madeleine and Carl Phillip. Also under his beld are top celebrities, and well-known peoples.
Daniel Westling started the gym in January 2000. The company has taken in 4.1 million to around seven million crowns. Of that, Daniel and his colleagues have gotten 660000 crowns.
In the summer, Westling changed his red Alfa Romeo for a black Toyota Lexus 200 IS.

--------Westling also invests in [horses]-----------Yay! *cough*, there was really no point in that article at all.....

yes he does. He now owns two gyms. The "old" one and a new one, called Master Training Nybrogatan.

Oh, that are the "Daniel goes 200 meters to his gym by taxi"-pictures, about which I´ve talked some weeks ago.

Yennie, it´s amazing, that you´ve found out how to enlarge the brainpix-pictures at the very same time like me ( I did yesterday...by comparing the thumbnail-URLs and the URLs of the big pictures)

For ppl, who are interested in the most unnecessary facts (like me )... the guy between Victoria and Daniel is Benny, Daniel´s partner in his business. An other pic of Benny (r): http://www.fitness-magazine.com/janu...2/DSC_0009.jpg

IMO he looks a little bit older than Daniel...wonder if he´s the one, who has more shares (?)

Hjälp! I need the help of Swedes, because I don´t get a part (the bold part) in a swedish article about Daniel´s gym:
http://di.se/Avdelningar/Artikel.aspx?ArticleID=2004\08\19\113778&words=westling

Daniel Westlings förhållande med kronprinsessan har visat sig bli en ekonomisk fullträff. Men Daniel Westling själv tonar ned kronprinsessans betydelse. "Vi hade gott om medlemmar innan dess så det stämmer inte riktigt. Dessutom tar vi inte heller in medlemmar hur som helst", säger han.

What does he mean? I get the words, but not the sense.

It means that people like you and me cannot be members at the gym. You have to be invited.
Meaning: a gym for the rich and famous and their friends :)

You need the whole sentence to get the picture. English sort of translation: "We had lots of members before then, so that's not really true (denying the importance of his relationship with the Crown Princess, and that she's been an economic hit for him). Besides, we don't just take in/sign on members like that (hip hap)" = meaning, they were succesfull before the Crown Princess, and besides - anyone can't just join. Meaning that you can't just become a member because of who he is and who his girlfriend in, try to become visible to them or whatever - cause they don't take in ordinary folks. Which is true. They are expensive, and I also think they have some kind of system that you have to be recommended or something like that... I can't remember, but there was something...

Thanks a lot for your help Yennie and GrandDuchess! So do I get it right, when I go there with 2077 Euro in my money bag to buy an annual card, Daniel Westling would say to me "We don´t need you...goodbye". So I´m not allowed to become member of this little gym (Daniel and Benny have 11 employees...hey, for that price I want a guy, who dries my wet body with a towel...but with 11 employees in 2 gyms this wouldn´t work)?! How snobby is that!
BTW I can´t follow Daniel´s explanation...when here the snow ball-effects rules (you need to know a guy, who is member) then they get the "princess-watchers" anyway. E.g. when a TV-moderator like this Martin Björk has a friend, who wants to go to the gym, then he can become member. And when then this friend would ask his girlfriend to become member, she could ask her friend ("you want to go to a gym, let´s go to Master training there you can watch a sweaty Madeleine lifting weights" and so on.

What do you think of this (Daniel´s tries to deny the "Victoria-effect", this snobby membership-system...)?

I thought both the King and Queen approved of Daniel? He's been on holiday with the royal family and attended Victoria's private birthday celebrations with the family. Surely if the King and Queen did not approve of Daniel he would not be holidaying with them.
I agree with Alexandria...Daniel is accepted in the Royal family. And even when it would be true, that the king isn´t too fond of Daniel Westling, it though seems, that a happy daughter is more important for him than the crown (otherwise he wouldn´t spend his holidays with Daniel)

I don't think she has any "ordinary friends". I believe Victoria hobnobs with people from the higher echelons mostly if not only, that to say recruit the right kind of clientale for him. I'm sure his relationship with her has boosted his business whether he wants to admit it or not. On the other hand, I do not think he used her as a platform to promote his business as some seem to speculate. It's probably a by-product of the hype, which he dislikes.

Also I find it odd that his employees are so scarcely paid. I believe his employees earn around 9000 crowns which is not much.

9000 crowns a month? That´s really meager. Maybe Mr. Westling is saying to them "You can work with Stockholm´s creme de la creme, therefore you should be more than satisfied with your pay-offs and your 80 hours-week and the mobbing through me, the future king of Sweden"

When you say "no ordinary friends" I wonder if Victoria really hasn´t such friends. She seems so down to earth...on the other hand it´s surely not easy to find out, if the person in front of you don´t want to use you (and your title) to raise. Further I´ve heard, that Swedes mostly prefer friends, which they know since their school days (don´t know if it´s true) and in the case of Victoria this might be especially true, since she hasn´t studied in Stockholm or worked with other people (who aren´t in their mid-fifties like ETW) for a longer time...there it´s surely not easy to make friends and so she stays with those she knows from her private school.

Exactly. Did she go to state-owned schools like the rest of us? No. Does her parents mingle with average "Svenssons"? No, and by dint of this limitation most of her intimate friends are known to belong to the 'educated' elite. Her close friends perfectly reflect what social stratification she has been subjected to. And hanging around in kharma and in Daniel's topnotch gym doesn't really change anything. Her being down-to-earth have nothing to do with what I tried to emphasize. In fact, her down-to-earth aura is what I like the most. I meant to say that she hasn't been given the opportunity to choose her friends from an early stage in life and she doesn't come across as someone who easily opens up. And if her relationship with Daniel fails I'm sure it will take some years for her (or if) to let another man into her life.

Actually, she did! From the age of 7 until 13 she and her siblings went to very "normal", state owned schools. Yes, the schools were located in a area, Bromma, where many with higher education etc lives, but the classmates were still quite "Svensson" like...
But since they got older and began their studies at Enskilda Gymnasiet, a upper class school, their friends got more posh and not so Svensson like.
