Swedish Radio P4 Norrbotten's reporter Per Vallgårda skied with Victoria and said that Victoria is a very impressive skier and she held a tough tempo. He interviewed Victoria.
Reporter: How does it feel?
Victoria: It feels very nice. It is a fantastic experience to ski here. It's so wonderful. I love the weather. I think it's really nice. Now in Stockholm we don't have snow anymore. It's great to have an extra winter.
Reporter: I think that the crown princess has skied before, it goes so fast?
Victoria: I do not know how fast it goes, I like to ski but do it poorly, I have no further technique but I get forward.
Reporter: I spoke with some people who live here in Kalix and they said you have a good style, good technique.
Victoria: I don't have that, but it's great. It doesn't matter how you ski, you get to be outdoors together and enjoy of the nature. And that's what I'm thinking is great with skiing.
Reporter: This is your seventeeth province hike. Why did you choose to come to Kalix at this time of the year? We talk about the light and summer, but you came in the winter?
Victoria: Yes. I love winter and it is great. But also because I try to visit various places in our beautiful country and it is just great to be here today.
I'm grateful to be here today.

On Wednesday, March 20, the Crown Princess visited Norrbotten for her seventeenth province hike.
The Crown Princess's visit to Norrbotten started at Filipborg's manor, which is located on Kalixälven's beach, one of Sweden's national rivers. From there, the Crown Princess went cross-country skiing on the Kalix River along with associations and the public to Kalix winterland. There, the Kalix municipality offers the residents winter activities in the form of, among other things, an ice course, sledding hill and ski trails where the children's Vasalopp is arranged.
Then the Crown Princess continued with skis on the Kalix River to the island of Vassholmen where the hike ended. Vassholmen is an old partition place for timber and has a high cultural-historical value with well-preserved buildings from the time when log driving on the river took place.
At Vassholmen lunch was prepared over open fire with flavors from Norrbotten.

"Crown Princess Victoria visited Kalix yesterday. On the agenda was skiing on the river, visit to Kalix winter country and lunch at Vassholmen. Our task was guarding and public order in place. The atmosphere was good and the day became a nice folk party for all ages!"
https://www.facebook.com/polisen.ost...type=3&theater

Folk festival with Crown Princess Victoria
It was a royal party atmosphere in Kalix when Crown Princess Victoria made her seventeenth province hike through Sweden's landscape, now along the Kalix river.
It started from Filipsborg's manor, out in the archipelago and in the other direction to Strandängarna and many people living in Kalix chose to follow along the approximately 15 kilometer long ski trip.
It snowed abundantly all the time and was headwind the first part, but the atmosphere was top notch.
In the lead together with Crown Princess Victoria, there were skiers Emma Ribom and Jennie Öberg.
Also part of the municipal management skied, including municipal councilor Tommy Nilsson, municipal council chairman Susanne Andersson and second vice chairman of the municipal government Katarina Burman.
There were some stops along the way, where among other children from the Norrskenets förskola preschool and Näsbyskolan met up.
They met a glorious happy Crown Princess Victoria who, among other things, talked about skiing with them and rounded off with the words:
- How great to meet you!
Many associations in Kalix took the opportunity to show off.
Further in the area, Crown Princess Victoria was drinking hot chocolate at the chocolate café.
- So good, she said.
Crown Princess Victoria also got to meet Furuhedsskolan's esthetics who showed ice art, the Crown Princess also had to try it.
Crown Princess Victoria finally got to participate in the awards ceremony at the Children's Vasalopp at Strandängarna where Kerstin Viklund Ljung, three years, was one of the medalists.
A little before the deadline, the company reached the final destination Vassholmen.
- What a wonderful day, said Lennart Larsson, Kalix ski club.
- It's been a fantastic experience, said Crown Princess Victoria.
On a later question about memories of the day, the moment with Kerstin Viklund Ljung came up.
- With that will power she will go a long way in life.
Kalix municipality is the year's foremost outdoor municipality in the county and in second place in the context of the country.
And it was, despite the heavy snowfall, a lot of people moving all day.
- A real folk festival, just as we wanted it, said Reine Sundqvist, information officer of Kalix municipality who was also responsible for the arrangement by the municipality.
With the whole day are Einar Olsson, Arvid Olsson, Josefin Persson and Rebecca Johnselius from Kalix ski club, which had many skiers with this day.
- Crown Princess Victoria is very fast, great at skiing and she is very kind and nice, said Josefin Persson.
- It was great fun, said Rebecca Johnselius.
- It was exciting to be with, said Arvid Olsson.
- A great experience, said Einar Olsson.

The Crown Princess defied the storm
- The Crown Princess has really made so many people happy here today, says Henrik Harr who is a press spokesman at the county administrative board in Jämtland.
On Friday, Crown Princess Victoria once again put on the cross-country skis and embarked on her 18th province hike.
The day, which started with a visit to Vemdalen's school, became both speedy and somewhat dramatic when the Crown Princess tried on both biathlon, cast lasso and drove snow racer.
- There were happy faces all day and the Crown Princess participated in all activities, says Henrik Harr.
Dramatics in the ski track
When it was time for the traditional skiing, however, a certain drama arose in the track.
The weather had the day in honor so far stayed calm but just before the Crown Princess Victoria got on the skis it started snowing and blowing heavily.
- But the Crown Princess is fierce and managed to get all the way up to the hunting lodge without any moody face, says Henrik Harr.
Once up at the hunting lodge, waffles and hot chocolate were given for anyone who wanted.
- There were many who had come up to see Victoria arriving and there were many happy faces, says Henrik Harr.
The day ended well despite the malicious weather and the Crown Princess could leave Vemdalen to laugh and good mood.
- She really did very many here very happy. They say that here has not been so much people since when everyone comes here on sports holidays.

Where the crown princess got the idea of these province hikes?
Victoria: It is something that has grown slowly but surely. Partly, part of me just loves being outdoors, being out in the forest and land. It is so easy to go to the same places all the time, to see something else in some way raises a thought and desire of that others also to discover what Sweden has to offer.

On Friday, March 29, the Crown Princess visited Härjedalen for her 18th province hike.
The visit started at Vemdalen's school where the Crown Princess did movement exercises with students. The school works actively with physical activity and movement for the students. To help, the school has materials from Generation Pep, which the Crown Princess couple is the initiator of.
At Vemdalen's Hembygdsgård, Crown Princess got information about the farm and the Sami culture in the area. In Vemdalen there are three Sami villages: Mittådalen, Ruvthen and Handölsdalen. In the area, there are a total of about 16,000 reindeer, which the herders have during the winter months in the forest land, and in the summer they use the entire mountain area.
From the railway station in Vemdalsskalet, the Crown Princess and others went a seven-kilometer stretch of skis up to the hunting lodge. There, waffles and hot chocolate were served. Outside the hunting lodge, the Crown Princess got to try to cast lasso, drive snow racer and biathlon with laser.
The visit ended with downhill skiing back down to Vemdalsskalet.

During Victoria's hike in Vemdalen, the children asked about her life: about her children and where she lives. A short video at this article:

It was during the walk in Vemdalen that Victoria unexpectedly offered this little glimpse from her royal everyday life. The children asked what they wanted and Victoria freely answered from the heart.
Because when a real princess comes to the village, it is clear that everyone thinks that she lives in a great palace. But Victoria honestly replied about 41 rooms big Haga Palace:
- We live in a little larger house called Palace. But it doesn't look like a castle you imagine!
Haga is on the whole 1550 square meters. But architect Carl Christoffer Gjörwell glanced at the Italian style when he designed Haga, and then it became a "mini-castle" (everything is relative!). If you compare with Stockholm Palace (which has more than 600 rooms) and Drottningholm (which has 192 rooms) then it becomes clear what Victoria means. And when children think of castles, they often think of thorns and towers, as in the fairy tales. And then Haga doesn't look exactly like that.
The schoolchildren in Vemdalen also wanted to know what it is like to be little when you are royal: Will Princess Estelle, 7, and Prince Oscar, 3, be treated as ordinary children by their friends?
- Yes, I would say they are, said Victoria.
How is it really to have a mother who is a crown princess? And how is it to live in a royal Palace?
- They have great friends. Our daughter Estelle goes to school in preschool class and our little son Oscar is three years old and goes to preschool.
And the home for Oscar and Estelle, it is Haga, where their grandfather king was actually born.
The main floor in Haga Palace is on the ground floor and has 16 rooms and a large kitchen. TCrown Princess Victoria's and Prince Daniel's private family home has 25 rooms and is located upstairs, but also extends up to the attic where the Haga princesses once had their nursery floor.

Program at Victoria's hike in Halland today, at the website of the County Administrative Board of Halland
- We have made a program with varied coastal nature. Along the way, we stop at interesting places and get information about life saving, marine environment and much more, says county governor Lena Sommestad.
The hike is made along part of Prins Bertil's trail in Halmstad. The trail shows several of Halland's habitats. The entire hike is about 13 kilometers long.

10.00 Start Jansabryggan / Tallviks playground, at the end of Långenäsvägen, Stenhuggeriet
The hike starts at 10 am at Jansabryggan where we meet students and staff from Eketånga Montessoriskola who tell how they use the method "Well-being gives results". The method promotes health and learning.
About 10.40 Grötvik harbor
In the harbor of Grötvik, the Sea Rescue Society has a station and here is also the ancient quarrying of ancient times. The hike goes on together with a senior hiker group, who tell about their activities to promote movement throughout their lives. After that, we stop short at the great King's Stone where three regents' signatures are located.
11.00 Sandhamn
Along the Halland coast there are many opportunities for popular activities such as kite, surf, stand up paddleboard (SUP) and more. At the beach in Sandhamn, "Kitekalle" with friends shows examples of activities and equipment just after 11.00.
11.45 Lunch break, Svärjarehålan
In Svärjareholan, the hiking group pauses for lunch outdoors.
13.00 Tylösand lifeguards
At 13.00, the chairman of the Lifeguards Tylösand gives a presentation of the business. Visit upstairs in the lifeguard tower. Lifeguards tell about the work as non-profit lifeguard and contestants tell about life saving as sports and show equipment. Demonstration of children's & youth activities for increased water knowledge.
15.00 Möllegård
At 15.00 we arrive at the final destination of the hike in Möllegård. Here is Riccardo's ice cream shop. A short presentation about the company is given.
In addition to these activities, the Crown Princess and the public receive information about the path and its origins during the hike, the fish of Halland, the marine environment and the fauna along the Halland coast and the snorkel trail at Svärjarehålan.
We also talk about the challenges of beach erosion along the shoreline and the open sandy environments that are valuable for biodiversity.

Victoria says: I'm so glad and so grateful to have been with this today. I have felt that it is special to hike at Prince Bertil's Trail today. As you know, both prince Bertil and princess Lilian were very close to my heart, and they really loved Halland. And that I today got to come here and do this hike at their trail, which carries the name of prince Bertil, has been very special. So, warm thanks, Halland!

Sisters Signe, 3, and Hedda, 6, had as a nice gesture and to show their appreciation to the royal, drawn both a drawing which they handed straight in the arms of the Crown Princess.
- Oh, what nice colors, says the Crown Princess at the handover.
On each drawing, the girls had painted a castle. That because "the princess lives in a castle", they meant.
But it was hardly the castle that came into focus, but rather the pens that Signe and Hedda had drawn with. Pens that are not believed to be on the Royal Palace, seen in the Crown Princess's reaction.
- What crazy pens you have in Halland, she exclaims.

Program at Victoria's hike in Västmanland tomorrow, at the website of the County Administrative Board of Västmanland.

Approx. 9.00 The County Governor greets H.R.H. The Crown Princess and everyone else welcome on arrival at Hälleskogsbrännan's entrance at Skräddartorpet in Virsbo.
The hike starts at the dense forest and small road to Uvberget. The Crown Princess hikes together with pupils from the Hedens school in Sala municipality.
Approx. 9.35 Up to the top in Uvberget, the Crown Princess meets Solveig and Kjell Wadelius, who experienced the ravaging forest fire up close. Butterfly inventory takers in environmental monitoring, people who live in Virsbo and supporsters of Hälleskogsbrännan and who are staying a lot in the nature reserve.
Approx. 10.45 At resting place Vallsjövägen, the hikers are met by Lena Gustafsson, professor emerita in conservation biology. She has worked to bring together different researchers in the area and follow the vegetation development in the area.
Approx. 11.30 At Stora Vallsjön, Lars Wikars, ecologist and the country's most famous fire insect expert, tells. He has, among other things, been responsible for inventing the insect fauna in Hälleskogsbrännan.

Approx. 13.10 At the top of Klösberget, after the fire, ancient remains have been found from two time layers - the Stone Age about 10,000 years ago and mill era around the 17th century. The forest fire in 2014 was a tragedy but if it had not burned it would almost have been impossible to find the remains. On site, Anette Färjare, archaeologist and Christina Svensson, an antiquarian at the County Administrative Board, tell more about the findings.
