Folk festival when Victoria walked through Skåne
Crown Princess Victoria hiked in Skåne on Tuesday. She walked on foot between Stenshuvud and Brösarp and was followed by hundreds of jubilant fans.
The excitement was great at Stenshuvud Naturum during Tuesday morning when the Crown Princess Victoria was coming and walking.
"Vickan" is out on a cool tour, she hikes through all Sweden's provinces. She got the idea when she planned her 40th anniversary.
- The Crown Princess wants to visualize the treasure that Swedish nature is, says Margareta Thorgren.
According to the scheme she would start at Stenshuvud's naturum and hike through the top to the Naturskolan Österlen. After lunch, "Vickan" would go further along Skåneleden and Backaleden from Vitemölla to Brösarp's station.
The proposal that the princess's provincial hike in Skåne would go just east of Skåne came from the County Administrative Board.
- That was our proposal. We thought about where she had previously been in Skåne and found out she probably had not been on this side, says Paul-Eric Jönsson, head of the nature conservation unit.
Hundreds of curious people had finished at Stenhuvud and had to wait a little extra for royality. The Crown Princess's plane had been delayed.
Siri and Viola Hegestam patiently waited with their grandmother to wander a bit with the princess. They like princesses but this was the first time they would see a real princess.
How is a princess you think?
- Don't know but they can be married to kings, says Viola.
What do you like for princesses?
- Elsa, because she has a friend named Anna (from Disney's Frozen)
Do you think Crown Princess Victoria also has friends?
- Yes.
A little late, finally, Crown Princess Victoria came and met with great jubilation. And the Crown Princess rejoiced back.
- Hey Skåne, she called
- Hello Crown Princess, people called back.
Then she went out for her hike and was followed by her fans.

It would have been nice had she brought the duke of Skane with her.

Oscar is too young to take part to the whole hiking, to take him to 600 km away from Stockholm, to show him in the beginning of the hike for a few minutes and then leave him to the nanny when Victoria was hiking for over six hours doesn't seem very reasonable. Victoria's day away from Stockholm was over 10 hours long. And since she didn't have Estelle with her on her hike in Östergötland, no need to take Oscar here. They can make an own visit with Oscar to Skåne.

A short video at court Youtube, Victoria says:
This is an absolutely great day, it is so unbeliavably fine. This is a good leg. It is so beautiful and varying, we have today really gotten to experience so many different types of nature. New precious things all the time. Wonderful day!

Victoria took part in Nature School's work in the water with Simrislundsskolan's children.
She was active in the water and walked around among the children to hear what they caught.
- It's a great opportunity. If you don't get into nature, you can't care and protect it, she said about the Nature School.
After lunch, walking from Vitemölla to final destination Brösarps station was on schedule.
Terri Rayer from Frisco, Texas, visited relatives in the country of which her great grandfather had left.
- My cousin told us we could walk with her in one of the most beautiful parts of Sweden. It felt like something we could not miss, Terri Rayer said before the hike.
Her daughter Emily Rayer got to shook hands with the Crown Princess.

Anette Jarlsson and Ingela Aronsson had traveled from Perstorp to accompany the Crown Princess Victoria when she did her province hike on Österlen on Tuesday.
- I love to photograph the royal family, to follow them all over Sweden. We were in Stockholm during the weekend and followed the christening. And we are going to Öland on 14th July when the crown princess turns 41 years, says Ingela.
She hoped the day would give her many nice photos of the crown princess.
- I hope for a nice walk and maybe I get to talk to her, says Anette.

ROYAL: Victoria wandert durch die Provinz Skaane

Crown Princess Victoria has since 2017 made a series of hikes through Sweden's provinces to experience different parts of the country and to visualize the treasure that Swedish nature is. During the 12th visit, the Crown Princess chose to visit Österlen, including the Stenshuvud National Park and Österlen Nature School at Kiviks Musteri.
Österlen Nature School has been established through a collaboration between Kiviks Musteri and Simrishamns Municipality and was opened 3 years ago. Österlen Nature School is located right next to the Baltic Sea, Kiviks Musteri's apple plants and Stenshuvud National Park, making it Sweden's most unique natural school. Here, students, as a complement to school education, can learn more about nature and the environment in a fantastic, varied environment that promotes exploration, learning and movement. Something that also is close to the heart of the Crown Princess.
- We are incredibly happy that the Crown Princess has chosen to visit just the Österlen Nature School. It is of course a wonderful recognition for all of us who worked with the Nature Schooll, said Thomas Jensen, CEO at Kivik's Musteri, and hopes that more people through this can be inspired to initiatives that can enhance children and pupils' interest in nature and the environment.
The Crown Princess continued her hiking along Skåneleden to Brösarp, with short breaks for conversations and activities. Of course, the Crown Princess got Kivik's Musteri's apple juice.
- Extra fun is that Crown Princess's great-grandfather asked my great-grandfather how to handle his apple trees, said Carl Levinsson, Product Manager and the 5th Generation in Kivik's Musteri.
Kiviks Musteri celebrates its 130th anniversary this year, so what's better than a royal visit.
- It is very nice to have the Crown Princess walking here on Österlen along all beautiful apple farms. It was here that Henric Åkesson in 1888 laid the foundation of Kivik's Musteri when he planted his first apple trees, says Kristina Levinsson, partner and 4th generation at Kiviks Musteri.

I think it is a very good plan from the court's press department, to publish videos of the hikes during Victoria's holiday. They have published them also at court Facebook, good to have something happening at their Facebook during the royal family's long summer holiday.

The court published today at their Youtube a video of Victoria's eleventh hike in Småland on 25th May.

Västergötland has decided to make an annual "Viktoriavandring" ("Viktoria hike", can't they check how Victoria's name is written?) in the footsteps of Victoria, on the same route Victoria and Daniel hiked last year at Victoria's first province hike. From Varnhem to Hornborgasjön.
The hike will be organized on 8th September. Viktoriavandringen from Varnhem to Hornborg Lake is an annual recurring event that will inspire hiking in nature and culture. The event begins, as with the Crown Princess couple's visit, with a guided tour at the Viking age's Kata Gård and the exhibition "Kristna Vikingar in Varnhem". Then we walk along the pilgrim trail up to Billingen, follow the edge of the mountain with a wonderful view of Hornborgasjön and Valle. We pass the museum farm Heljesgården, a farm from the last turn of the century. On the way down to the goal at Hornborgasjön, we pass ancient remains and an exciting cultural landscape. There are refreshments and organized transport back to Ryttaregården in Varnhem, where the Skara-Varnhem Folklore Society exhibits its exhibition. The walk is just over 10 kilometers long. The first three kilometers go up and are most demanding, then it's quite easy and flat and towards the end it's downhill.

Press release from the court

H.R.H. The Crown Princess hikes in Dalsland
The Crown Princess's thirteenth hike through Sweden's provinces takes place on Friday 31 August in Dalsland.
The Crown Princess starts her hike in Svankila Nature Reserve and walks along the Pilgrim trail along the lakes Spången and Östebosjön to Upperud. From Upperud the Crown Princess paddles with a canoe over Upperudshöljen to Håverud. The paddling ends at Håverud's sluice where the celebration of Dalsland's 150th anniversary takes place. The Crown Princess delivers Årets Industriminne Prize of the Year in 2018, awarded to Dalslands Kanal AB for their worthwhile efforts to preserve and develop our industrial heritage.
Dalsland with its deep forests, rocks, plains, canals and lakes is a miniature Sweden and the province which has most lakes in Sweden. Something that the Crown Princess can experience partly through the walk in varied natural and cultural environments, and partly through the paddling, with the opportunity to experience birdlife and beaches in Dalsland's canals from the sea side.

I always enjoy these hikes. Such wonderful photos of parts of Sweden :flowers:

Pelle T Nilsson is my favourite of swedish photographers who follow the swedish royals on their duties. He takes great photos.
Some of Nilsson's photos of Victoria on her hike in Dalsland. They show that Victoria doesn't need heavy make up, beautiful dresses and tiaras to look beautiful. To me, Victoria looks the most beautiful just like this, as we saw her on Friday:

Victoria's speech at the Dalsland Canal's 150th anniversary celebration, she said among other things:
When Karl XV and his family came to open the Dalsland canal and aqueduct here in Håverud, they came by steamboat.
Like him, I come here on the waterway today. Stuck in the canoe instead of steamboat. And it's really fun to experience the same amazing views as my grandfather's grandfather's uncle saw then, just 150 years ago.

About Victoria's hike in Uppland tomorrow, from the website of the County Administrative Board of Uppsala
On September 12th, Crown Princess Victoria will carry out her province hike in the Billudden Nature Reserve in northern Uppland. Host for the Crown Princess's visit is governor Göran Enander.
The Crown Princess begins her hike at Sågarbo Manor and then hikes through Billudden Nature Reserve up to the fishing harbor in Billhamn. From Billhamn the Crown Princess walks along the waterway to Billudden's peak, Billskaten. The hike continues along the western bank of Billund to Brämsand and ends at Rullsand's seaside resort.
During the day, the Crown Princess will, among other things, walk with students from Swedish for immigrants, fish on a newly built wooden deck with participants from the Folkhälsa i naturen for all and participate in nature education together with a school class from Älvkarleby municipality.
- It feels good to show off some of our amazing scenery for the Crown Princess, says Governor Göran Enander. The nature reserve Billudden offers a distinctive and beautiful landscape with lush greenery and roaring seas, pebble beaches, sand dunes and Europe's largest set of sea buckthorns.

The first part of the hike starts at 9.30 at Sågarbo Manor. The Crown Princess arrives at Billhamn approximately at 10.45. The last stage of the hiking starts from the nature cottage in Rullsand approximately at 14.00.
Note that some trails can be difficult to walk. There may be stinging roots and stones. Other parts are easier to walk. The last stage that starts at the nature cottage and ends at the restaurant at Rullsands camping is the most easily walked.

BILDEXTRA_ Kronprinsessans vandring i Uppland

Margareta Thorgren said to Expressen:
- The Crown Princess wants to shed light on Sweden and the amazing nature we have, said Margareta Thorgren.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are passionate about staying in the woods and fields, exercising and taking long walks. As part of this, she decided, in connection with her 40th birthday, to visit and highlight all swedish provinces.
- She started this last fall and will have completed her hikes in all provinces next year, said Margareta Thorgren.
During Wednesday, the crown princess visited the scenic nature reserve Billudden in northern Uppland. Nature hiking began at Sågarbo Manor, continued through the Billudden nature reserve and up to the fishing harbor in Billhamn. From there the walk continued along the waterway to Billudd's peak, Billskaten.
The Crown Princess thrived and looked equally happy at a wooden bridge and when she was trying to drive a mower with yellow ear caps over her ears.
Has the Crown Princess run a mower before?
- I don't know, said Margareta Thorgren with a laugh.
Göran Enander, governor of Uppsala County, was pleased with the Crown Princess's visit.

Good photos at this article.
The public was invited to hike with and a large group of Sfi students followed the trip that went from Sågarbo manor to Billudden and ended in Rullsand in the afternoon.
The Crown Princess spoke smoothly with those who hiked with her and with people they encountered on the road.
- When I was younger, I was much better at mushrooms than I am today, unfortunately, Victoria said when they passed areas with a lot of mushrooms. On the other hand, she could easily point out the death cap mushrooms that you should not try to eat.
Along the way, the company stayed in several places where people from the Work close to nature integration project told about nature reserves and the Right of Public access.
- I thought it was very nice that she wanted to come to our nice area so we can show how we live here and what environment we have, said Margaret Wahlbäck. She and her friend managed to revert the walk and could talk to the crown princess eye to eye.
- Glad we could do it without Säpo preventing us, she filled in with the glimpse in the eye.

During Wednesday, Crown Princess Victoria was hiking in the Älvkarleby municipality, between Sågarbo Manor and Rullsand's seaside resort. And she was impressed with nature.
- It's quite unique, it's really a very beautiful place, and it's very cool with the esker that really characterizes the landscape. And the sea buckthorns that are so incredibly special here and, as you say, is Europe's largest cohesive stock, says Crown Princess Victoria to P4 Gävleborg.
