The hike in Södermanland began at Nerhyttan's farm, where county governor Liselott Hagberg welcomed the Crown Princess. From Nerhyttan's farm, the Crown Princess rode an Icelandic horse to the Skottvång mine.
At Skottvångs mine Maria Bystedt and Gunnar Nygren from Östra Sörmland's mining association told about the mining area. In the early 13th century, iron ore began to be mined in the mine. The mine was in use until 1921 when it was shut down.
From the Skottvång mine, the walk went on foot north out along Sörmlandsleden. During the hike, Lucie Riad and Agneta Sharp told the Crown Princess and fellow immigrants about ancient remains in the area and the work on cultural environment walks.
The hike went along old paths up to Stenhuggarmon where a clear shoreline (shingle stone) from 5000 years BC is visible. The area was then the inner archipelago and Littorina sea's water created the shore.
After lunch at Mellan Marviken, the Crown Princess paddled the canoe, together with Strängnäs Scout Corps and the Canoe King, to the southern end of Nedre Marviken where Sörmlandsleden sails.
Then the hike continued on foot along Sörmlandsleden to Laketorp and then along the Laketorpsåsan to Ådal's mill. At Ådal's mill, the Crown Princess and others received information about the remains of a silver medal once long there.
From Ådal's mill, the hike went to Leggesta where the Crown Princess and other hikers traveled by steam train on the museum railway to Mariefred. Museum Association Östra Södermanlands Järnväg told about the locomotive, the wagons and about Sweden's seven narrow-gauge railways that were previously used for passenger traffic.
The Crown Princess's hike in Södermanland ended at Gripsholm Castle in Mariefred where municipal councilors in Strängnäs Jacob Högfeldt and Monika Lindell Rylén welcomed the Crown Princess.

The Crown Princess's twenty-third hike through Sweden's provinces takes place on Wednesday 29 May in Medelpad.
The Crown Princess's hike goes through Jämtgaveln's nature reserve in Ånge municipality. The hike starts north of Värsjöberget in the central parts of the nature reserve. From there, the Crown Princess and other hikers walk ten kilometers on small winding paths. Along the way there will be meetings with people who tell about nature and about life before and now in the northern forest of Norrland. I love these walks they came up with. Such a fantastic way to Victoria to tour her country and meet with the people in all the regions. I cant believe she is almost done all of them. Hit 23, what are the last ones she has left??

Side note is a good part for tourism. Makes me anxious to visit one day.

The Crown Princess's twenty-fourth hike through Sweden's provinces takes place on Friday, June 7 in Gästrikland.
The Crown Princess's hike goes along the coastal path on Norrlandet outside Gävle. The hike starts at Engeltofta where the Crown Princess arrives with the Limö boat "Drottning Silvia".
Then, among other things, Brädviken, Gröndal's meadows and Sjövik are passed. At Huseliiharen, the Crown Princess meets sea scouts and Gefle Segel Sällskap. The hike later passes Engesberg's camping, Bönan, Gråberget and Utvalnäs cape. The hike ends on Argosplan where the Crown Princess and other hikers meet Gävle Taekwondo club.

Today I changed my high heels used in the Riksdag to my lovely hunting boots and followed with H.R.H Crown Princess Victoria on her province hike in Medelpad. We walked ten kilometers through Jämtgaveln's nature reserve in Ånge municipality along with other hikers. The county administrative board staff had a very interesting program during the hike, where we met many wise people and learned new things. I also had the opportunity to talk to the Crown Princess, during a quick hike we talked about the forest, the environment and the poisonous tunnels in the bay of Sundsvall. Despite the weather that offered both rain and snow, we had a fantastic day!

On Wednesday, May 29, the Crown Princess visited Medelpad for her 23rd province hike.
The hike in Medelpad went to Jämtgaveln's nature reserve in Ånge municipality and began north of Värsjöberget where county governor Berit Högman welcomed everyone.
After that, the Crown Princess, along with the people who met up to attend, went to the footsteps of the pilgrimage. Along the path, the Crown Princess also met a medieval pilgrim hiker depicted by Anna Lundström, cultural director in Bräcke municipality. The cultural manager took the opportunity to tell about the St Olof and the pilgrim hikers, who passed these areas on the way to the Nidarosdomen in Trondheim.
At the entrance to the nature reserve, the day's hikers were received by John Granbo, a reserve manager at the County Administrative Board in Västernorrland County, who told about the work on nature conservation burning. No other nature reserve has carried out so many burns as in the Jämtgaveln. After that, the Crown Princess and the hikers met by Per Simonsson, a long-time company biologist at SCA, who told about the formation of the nature reserve.
At a height in the pine forest, Olov Aksel and Susanne Thomasson from Jovnevaerrie Sami village told about the local reindeer herding and how to use the lands. Kristoffer "Krasta" Thomasson and Inger-Biret Gaup Kvernmo also performed various yoiks for the Crown Princess and other hikers. After another bit of walking, Götes hut was reached, where the group got information about the early forestry. At the old cutter hut, Ulrika Stenbäck, Peder Tholin and Johanna Ulfsdotter from Sundsvall's museum received dressed as forest workers from the 1930s.
The province hike in Medelpad was then concluded north of Värsjön where the Crown Princess thanked the county administrative board and all those who had hiked with her for the day.

H.R.H. The Crown Princess hikes in Dalarna
The Crown Princess's twenty-fifth and final hike through Sweden's provinces will take place on Wednesday, June 12 in Dalarna.
The Crown Princess's hike takes place in Fulufjället's national park in northwestern Dalarna. The hike starts at Naturum Fulufjället. Nearby, the Crown Princess meets scouts and representatives of Idre Sami Siida. The hike goes then towards Old Tjikko, the world's oldest known individual tree clone.
Then the Crown Princess hikes on to Njupeskär's waterfall, the country's highest waterfall. At Njupeskär's accessibility-adapted trail, the Crown Princess then meets with representatives of the disability associations' cooperative body in Dalarna, which is expected to tell about their activities.
The hikers then return to Naturum Fulufjället where the hike ends.

The hike starts at Engeltofta and during the hike we will pass Brädviken, Huseliiharen, Engesberg, Bönan, Gråberget and Utvalnäs, before the hike ends on the Argos football field. The hike is just under 12 kilometers long, starting around 11:45 and ending around 17:00.

11:45 - The Crown Princess arrives at Engeltofta with the Limö boat "Drottning Silvia". The hike starts and we walk along the coastal path towards Huseliiharen. On the way we pass Brädviken, where we will meet the association Naturkraft Gästrikland. The journey then goes over Gröndal's meadows and Sjövik. Distance: 5 km.
13:15 - Huseliiharen. Gefle Segelsällskap and Gefle Sjöscouter show off their business. Longer stop, with the opportunity to buy lunch at Restaurang Huseliiharen.

The hike in Gästrikland began with the Crown Princess going with the Limö boat "Drottning Silvia" from Furuviksbrygga to the start of the hike at Engeltofta.
In Engeltofta, the governor greeted everyone welcome, and then the Crown Princess and her fellow-hikers went north to Huseliiharen. The hike from Engeltofta to Huseliiharen went along the coastal path in Norrlandet.
During the hike, the Crown Princess and others received information about the cultural environment along the way. At Brädviken, the Crown Princess met with Naturkraft Gästrikland, which told about its activities "nature experiences with your own power".
From Brädviken, the Crown Princess walked over Gröndalsängar and Sjövik. During the hike, information was provided about the rich bird life that is found along the Gästrikland coast, including about the horned grebe that has become a character species.

Victoria spoke about these hikes a lot at her speech on the National Day in Haga Park:
When I turned 40, I saw the opportunity to do something extra. To experience Sweden's diverse nature in our 25 provinces - and a desire to share that experience with others.
Today, almost two years later, I will soon reach the goal. On Wednesday we travel to Dalarna for the very last hike.
You may find that it has taken an incredibly long time to hike in 25 provinces. I think it has gone way too fast. Because it has certainly been magical.
During these two years I have seen so many sides of Sweden's rich nature:
I have hiked on pilgrim paths, through ancient forests, over meadows and in towns. I have skied over mountains and rivers. I have paddled, cycled and ridden.
It has rained cats and dogs, hailed from above, snowed from below, blown from the side, and been radiant sun.
I have felt the smell of fire in the forest in Västmanland and the scent of flowering rapeseed in Södermanland.
I have heard the creaking of the black-throated diver, the chattering of the robin and the loud singing song of the winter wren.
I have learned more about how our ecosystems work. And how incredibly fragile they are.
I am so grateful for all these nature experiences. Each one is a memory for life.
But what also made an unforgettable impression on me is all the people I have met along the way.
All fellow hikers. All seniors and children. All non-profit forces. All archaeologists, biologists, ornithologists.
All of you who are committed to protecting and caring for our nature so that more people can take part of that Sweden that we often have just around the corner:
You make an invaluable effort and you deserve warm thanks!

Thanks to everyone who hiked with the Crown Princess in Gävle on June 7th
Gävle and Gästrikland showed up their best side when Crown Princess Victoria completed her hike in Sweden on Friday, June 7th.
Over 150 people were waiting in Engeltofta when the Crown Princess arrived by boat to the dock in Engeltofta. After county governor Per Bill greeted everyone welcome, the hike started at a fast pace along the coastline towards Brädviken where Naturkraft Gästrikland waited with information about their work and activities for the public. The hike then went towards Husiliharen for lunch and Gävle Sjöscouter showed its business and the Crown Princess got to try to whine a trivet. At the same time, Gefle Segelsällskapt presented their activities.
At Engesberg's campsite, the Crown Princess was met by the association KF Heros who showed among other things their electric hockey chairs. The Crown Princess got to try a race runner. We also greeted young leaders (13-16 years) for the "Sommarkulan" on the football field that presented the activities in Strömsbro IF.
The hike continued on the coastal path that changes character and we went among meadows and horse paddocks next to the Ryssängen.
At the popular Böna café, the Crown Princess made a small stop to taste Gävle's landscape food, smoked herring, which is smoked and sold by some fishermen in the small fishing village.
The hike continued to the nature reserve Gråberget, which has one of Gästrikekusten's most beautiful lookouts. The nature reserve contains old fine forest. The guides told about Gråberget, the Swedish Armed Forces' facility which is located in the hill and fishing along the Gävleborg coast.
At the Argos football field, the Crown Princess met Association Gävle Taekwondo club which arranged trial-on activities for the Crown Princess and the public.
- It has been a day that I will really remember. Cultural environments that we really need to safeguard and care for, said Crown Princess Victoria after the hike.

12:00 The Crown Princess arrives at Fulufjället National Park and is welcomed by county governor Ylva Thörn outside the entrance to the Naturum Fulufjället.

14:00 Arrival at Old Tjikko, the world's oldest known individual tree clone, with "roots" 9 550 years back in time
14:15 The hike continues towards Njupeskär
14:45 Arrival to Njupeskär's waterfall
15:00 Further towards Njupeskär's accessibility-adapted roundabout. The disability associations' cooperative body in Dalarna meets up and tells about their activities.
15:30 We hike together the trail back to the Naturum.

Svensk Damtidning's Helena Wiklund interviewed Victoria last Friday about this last hike. Victoria said:
- I will have an empty feeling a little. Yes, perhaps a little sad. This has been a fantastic way to experience Sweden's rich and variable nature at the same time. I have had a great time. It has been very rewarding and instructive.
I have today noticed that the crown princess spreads so much joy?
- Yes, but it is so nice with all these meetings. And look at all flowers I have got. It is very touching. So we have now laid the foundation to good hiking possibilities. I hope that many more find out these hiking routes and it feels great.

Sofia hikes today with Victoria according to the calendar.

Svensk Damtidning tells that Victoria and Sofia arrived at 6.00 in the morning to Stockholm's Central Station and took the 6.10 train to Dalarna. Since last night the Polar Music Prize Banquet lasted rather late, they didn't get many hours sleep.

The Crown princess hiked in Dalarna
On Wednesday, June 12, the Crown Princess visited Dalarna and completed her 25th and last province hike.
The province hike in Dalarna took place in Fulufjället National Park. At Naturum, county governor Ylva Thörn greeted the Crown Princess and others to Dalarna and the national park.
After lunch, the hike then went on an accessible road to Old Tjikko.
The Crown Princess then got to know Old Tjikko, the world's oldest known individual tree clone, with "roots" from 9 550 years back in time.
From Old Tjikko the hike went on to Njupeskär's waterfall. The 93 meter high waterfall is the country's highest with 70 meters free fall.
The Crown Princess and the fellow hikers then went on to Njupeskär's accessibility-adapted loop. In place, the Swedish Disability Association's cooperative body in Dalarna told about its activities.
The Crown Princess and many fellow hikers then returned to Fulufjället's nature museum.
On the way back, the Crown Princess was escorted by scouts who wore Swedish and local village flags.
Upon arrival at Fulufjället's naturum, where the province hike ended, the Crown Princess was received by Swedish folk musicians.
The kransmas of the year at the Vasaloppet goal Victor Sticko finally hung the Crown Princess with a wreath to mark that the last province hike was now completed.
