I'll laugh if we see Sofia's baby before Victoria's, which is entirely possible.

(And by the way, you have a great chamber choir!)
I hold Slottskyrkan as the most likely option.

Yeah the choirs are great :) Do you sing there ?

It is possible. Not very uncommon that children are born a month early

If they decide on a different route then a royal chapel, my guess would be Storkyrkan church. It is located next to the palace and would allow for an easy trip and the reception at the palace later. It is not only where Victoria was baptized but were she and Daniel were married. It obviously holds very significant memories for the two of them.

If they do what I hope (longer wait though) and baptize the baby on their anniversary, the cathedral would be even more fitting. It is the king and queen's 40th anniversary and they wed there as well.

I would hope Vic's comes first. Being a month early is not always dangerous but its always better for a baby to go full term. Now if Vik was a few weeks late, and Sofia a few weeks early (if she is due start of April) it would be amazing if they switched places on who comes first.

Victoria was baptised at the Royal Palace Church (Slottskyrkan)

I agree that 19:th June would be a good day to have a christening though i guess that the King and Queen have planned other celebrations on that day this year. A combined christening for the baby and Te Deum for the royal couple would be fantastic.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Royal Court will try the same procedure they did with Madeleine during the birth of Prince Nicholas and that we won't know anything until the baby is born
Hans-Rickard's post might be an answer to your question Ness.
We probably will know when the baby is born.

We don't really know. They did when Victoria was to give birth to Estelle and when Madeleine was to give birth to Leonor but they did not when Madeleine was to give birth to Nicholas. So i guess it is up to Victoria and Daniel to decide how they want to do

What I remembered from the birth of Estelle : That very early morning there would be a press conference where Prince Daniel would make an announcement.
Princess Victoria was admitted at the hospital late at night but it was not announced by the court. At least not to the foreign media. (Don't know if this was because of the late hour of the night).
Princess Leonore was born in New York 5 hours later than the time table in Sweden

So everything depends probably on the hour of admission

I remember that the media outside the hospital spotted the car arrving at around 1 am. Some journalists asked the court for a confirmation and the press spokeman did confirm that the princess had been admitted to the hospital around that time. Estelle was born 3 hours later. I think the palace confirmed the news only because they were asked. With Leonore and Nicolas it wans't like that. So we have to wait and see. It also depens on which time Victoria is admitted and if reporters or anyone else notices her getting in.

Yes, the director of the press department Bertil Ternert and other staff from the press department confirmed to the media representatives when they called, that Victoria and Daniel had went to Karolinska University Hospital.
Aftonbladet's reporter called to Bertil Ternert at 1.02 o'clock.
Bekräftelsen –*ord för ord _ Nyheter _ Aftonbladet
The court sent then also a press release via news agency TT.

I guess they will confirm the news only if asked also this time, but it may depend on how the labour goes.

A confirmation but not an announcement

I can imagine that after the death announcement of Prince Johann Georg, Princess Birgitta's husband this morning, there will not be made announcements about a possible birth today if the birth would happen today.

Let's hope it will not be born today. That would not be nice for the family.

True. It happened in the dutch RF in 2004 when Count Claus-Caismir of Orange-Nassau was born less then 24 hours after the death of Queen Juliana.

I have been anxious for news, but now hearing of the death of Prince Johann Georg, I hope the baby waits a few days at least. Such a happy moment doesn't need to be paired with such a loss

I cannot wait to hear about Crown Princess Victoria having the baby!! I feel like I am checking all the news sites several times a day now hoping to hear something. I do hope Sofia's baby will wait until April to be born as both couples could then enjoy their special moment without being overshadowed by another family event, as pleasant as it is.

Oh my, i can imagine the critique on some internetforums... they'd probably accuse Sofia of inducing labour to steal Victoria's thunder

Even if Sofia was desperate enough for spotlight she wouldn't be that stupid. She cant steal the spotlight from Vic. Vic's baby is the future spare to the throne. If I was Sofia I would be hoping Vic gives birth as soon as possible, and that her own baby is born in April as planned. The more time between the births, the better chance some of the excitement of Vic's baby will die down and focus can turn to Sofia. If her baby comes close to Vic's, either before or after, she will be totally over shadowed. It's also why I hope that there is no chance at a double baptism. Both babies deserve their own day. Sofia's baby is always going to be over shadowed by Vic's kids, he or she should at least get their own baptism.
