I didn't know that the name Estelle came from Folke's wife... well, I find out new things everyday on this forums! Thanks!

I do not remember that the Crown Princess couple ever stated that Princess Estelle is named after Estelle Bernadotte.

No, they haven't ever stated that. But the press thinks so especially because princess Désirée's granddaughter is also called Estelle. When it was told that Victoria and Daniel give name Estelle to their daughter, Folke Bernadotte, son of Estelle Bernadotte, said that he was very honoured about that the little princess was named Estelle. The king´s mother Sibylla and Estelle Bernadotte were very good friends. He knew that Victoria had met Estelle in her childhood.
And another Estelle's son, Bertil Bernadotte, said before Estelle's christening, that his present will be something which belonged to his mother.

I only knew that the couple said the name was "vee close to their hearts". So for whatever reason, this one seems to be the more logical...

Victoria delivered this evening the Swedish Brain Foundation's anniversary grant. Victoria is the patron of Hjärnfonden (Brain Foundation).

There was a memorial evening yesterday, not just the grant ceremony. The evening began with a dinner where moderator Malou von Sivers led a conversation on the theme of memory mysteries and possibilities. At another conversation they talked about the memory in old age - memory giants with extremely good memory skills, how to exercise their memory and become the best in the world at remembering. Victoria delivered the grant to Bengt Winblad, professor of geriatrics at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society, Karolinska Institutet, who then talked about breakthroughs and challenges in Alzheimer Research.

On Wednesday 23 September, Crown Princess Victoria visited the Stockholm Resilience Centre to take part in research on the Baltic Sea health and the importance of the green areas for urbanites.
The day began at the Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) in Kräftriket where research director Carl Folke welcomed the crown princess. He handed the book Speglingar om människan och biosfären (Reflections of Man and the Biosphere) with images of Lars Hall and texts of man in the biosphere by Carl, interspersed with musical quotes. Several years ago, SRC collaborated with artists and institutions to bring together art and science, and thus to reach a new audience and reach out with the research.
Professor Thorsten Blenckner about his research on the Baltic Sea health. He spoke of the complex in the Baltic Sea research, where several factors affect ecosystems, such as eutrophication, overfishing, pollution and climate change, and sometimes a combination of all. Blenckner also presented the project Baltic Health Index which in future will be a way to assess the Baltic Sea health, with a focus on ocean's ability to sustainably deliver ecosystem goods and services that humans depend.
The morning continued in the National City Park and Stora Skuggan. Sara Borgström guided through the park and talked about research on taking care of the nature and the importance of the green areas for the residents of Stockholm.

The court put today an article to their website about Victoria at the Dag Hammarskjöld lecture at the Uppsala University on Tuesday.
The Crown Princess's afternoon in Uppsala began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of Dag Hammarskjöld. Even Governor Peter Egardt, Uppsala University Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson, Henrik Hammargren from Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation and lecturer José Ramos-Horta participated in the ceremony.
In the University followed the lecture on the theme of conflict prevention and sustainable peace. Eva Åkesson greeted welcome and professor Peter Wallensteen, peace and conflict researcher, introduced the lecturer Jose Ramos-Horta.
Before José Ramos-Horta was appointed as president of East Timor, he was best known as an international peacemaker. He lived in exile for almost 30 years and worked to bring his country's actions both in the United Nations and in the Security Council. He received the 1996 Nobel Peace Prize with Bishop Carlos Ximenes Belo for efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in East Timor. After years as president Ramos-Horta has had prominent positions within the United Nations.

Victoria attended on Tuesday at a lunch lecture on the theme Man and iconic Species. The lecturer was Carlos Drews, the director of WWF´s Global Species Programme.
The lecture was about how important it is to preserve our species on Earth and how WWF works, from the projects in the field to global advocacy. Hot topics are the increased poaching of species such as elephant, rhino and tiger. But even marine inhabitants are threatened such as whales, sharks and sea turtles.

Victoria met today professor Johan Rockström from Stockholm Resilience Centre at the Royal Palace. We will see if the court puts photo of the meeting to the website.

From court Instagram today
"When the Crown Princess visited Tjejzonen (the girls zone) she got the opportunity to the questions and problems young girls experience. In the photo, The Crown Princess watches "big sister" Camilla during a chatting session."
https://www.instagram.com/p/-0unidP8qS/?taken-by=kungahuset

From the website of Tjejzonen
"Tjejzonen is a politically and religiously independent non-profit organization. The organization was founded in 1998. Our overall purpose is to relieve and prevent psychological illness. The work we do is built on a belief that personal meetings and conversation itself can have a healing effect.
Today we offer supportive conversations and relationships, both in person and online. In 2012 Tjejzonen had about 10 800 contacts. About 200 volunteers are active within the organization, they are recruited, trained, guided and coordinated by employed staff and according to our own manifesto.
Our target group is girls between 12 and 25 years of age. We welcome all girls, irrespective of culture, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Our goal is an equal society and we condemn racism, violence, bullying, oppression and abuse. No drugs or alcohol are allowed within the organization."
"The organization consists of the Big Sister project: Big Sisters live, Big Sister chat and Big Sisters Skype (voice and video-calls). A Big Sister is a volunteer who is about ten years older than the Little Sister (the girl who needs help). They meet regularly for about a year to spend time and talk together and focus on the needs of the Little Sister. The project also consists of online conversations: a private chat room where you can speak freely, e-mail conversations and a private chat room where the focus is on eating disorders."

Visits to these kind of associations aren't put to the calendar, because the press is not wanted to attend them. So the court tells about the visits only after they are done.

Sofie Karlström, who works for Tjejzonen, has put the photo of her with Victoria to her Instagram and writes at the photo:
"Yesterday I had the honor to spend two hours with Crown Princess Victoria on Tjejzonen's office. It was a bit surreal, and for me a symbolic event. Suddenly I realized how far I've come from where I once was - terrified of life. Now I sat there, nervous, of course, but at the same time with the calm voice inside me that said: She is a human being just like you. Not worth more or less. Only different. You do what you love. You're one of the lucky ones. You are one of those who survived".

I see... I imagine it would have been for tham reason.

I agree with the employee who said those words on her instagram: Victoria is a human being like the rest of us, that's what the royals are... but the crown sometimes makes us afraid of them...:whistling::flowers:

When president Ghani met prime minister Stefan Löfven, they discussed among other things about the refugee crisis.
- Many of the refugees who come to Sweden are from Afghanistan, and many of them are unaccompanied children. This year, some 20 000 young people, mostly young men, have come to Sweden from Afghanistan. This is a serious challenge for both our countries. We have agreed today to launch negotiations on a readmission agreement. Such an agreement will facilitate the return of those not granted asylum in Sweden, says Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.
