It is surprising to hear that Colombia " donated over 40000 flowers to Victoria's and Daniel's wedding". After all, Colombia is not a country that has any particularly strong economic, historic, or cultural ties to Sweden. I wonder why they would do that.

Was it ever confirmed that Columbia did actually donate flowers to CP Victoria's wedding? Someone from Columbia stated prior to the wedding that they would donate the flowers in order to market their major export. Columbia is either the first or send exporter of cut flowers in the world and it would have been a marketing ploy.

Rolf Persson, chairman of the Royal Flower Foundation, says at this video made a couple of days before the wedding "we have flowers from South America".

And the swedish press told still a day before the wedding, that 40000 flowers came from Colombia. One would think that if it wasn't true, the court would have denied it.

How nice that Victoria will be able to travel so far, while being pregnant! IIRC, the last time she was pregnant didn't make it to New York! Can't wait!

The Embassy of Peru is pleased to inform the Peruvian community residents in Sweden about a visit to Peru next week by HRH Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, accompanied by her husband, Prince Daniel of Sweden.
One of the substantive issues of her visit will be her participation in the inauguration of the seminar to be held at the University of Lima between universities in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland with their Peruvian counterparts. This event, organized by the Swedish Council for Higher Education in a joint effort with the Embassy of Peru, is an event of the greatest importance because it will be the first time that universities in Scandinavia take contact with Peruvian universities. This trust will promote a greater exchange of students and teachers between our countries and opens the door to a significant joint work.

She is known for not wanting any open timeslots during her travels. She prefer the calendar to be totally booked to take advantage of the opportunities these trips open up. She has on occasion included a day or two of personal travel but the official part of the trips are always full booked.

Johan T Lindwall writes that Victoria and Daniel landed in Peru early this morning after almost 20 hours flight.
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen trade relations and cultural cooperation. The Minister for Infrastructure, Anna Johansson, accompanies the couple on the visit.
- The trip has been planned in consultation with the Crown Princess Couple for a long time and it is something they look forward very much, says Margareta Thorgren.
It is not just Peru and Lima which are on schedule. After Lima, there will be Cartagena in Colombia and then Victoria and Daniel and their entourage fly further to Bogota where the visit ends.
It is a long and intense journey and one who has openly shown her concern for that Victoria goes as far away when she is pregnant is mom Silvia. When she met Expressen's Niklas Svensson during the state visit to Lithuania, she was open about her concern:
- It's a long journey to begin with. Colombia is in very high also, so clearly for purely medical reasons, she should be careful and rest.
After it became clear that Victoria is pregnant, changes have been made to the program so that the Crown Princess will have the opportunity to recover.
- The trip has been planned for a long time by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and it is now adapted according to crown princess's pregnant state, says Margareta Thorgren.

One can only think how much more events at the program was in the beginning, since the program is now adapted to Victoria's pregnancy.

Victoria and Daniel are here in Peru. The Crown Princess does just like mom Silvia - conducts an official visit abroad with pregnant belly.
Heavily armed police guarded every step that the couple took this morning in a country marked by criminality.
Daniel and Victoria were in great spirits when they left their hotel:
- Great to be here, said Daniel and gave the thumbs up.
Welcome to Peru!
- Thank you, said Victoria. It will be very interesting.
- Yes, indeed, said Daniel. Here we go! he laughed.
