Victoria at the lunch today
HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden ... for lunch in Beit El Qamar today ... honored and thrilled to have shared a moment. A meal. And a lot of our traditions and stories ... Tabouleh. Aakoub. Sayadyieh. Warraa arrish ... HRH was amazed by then Shouf greenery. Curious of what she ate ... and very happy of the sur mesure salad that our partner Rony Feghali, and Tawlet Beit El Qamar cooks, created especially for her ... rocca from the garden, with turnip pickles and falafel ! Crunchier than what she knows in Sweden as falafel, she said ! So we ll call it VICTORIA SALAD!

The Crown Princess's concern: "Handle our seas as they were our drain"
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel have been visiting Jordan and Lebanon in recent days. Among other things, they have visited a Palestinian refugee camp near Amman, and on Thursday the Crown Princess spoke at a conference on global sustainability goals.
- We handle and exploit the Earth's resources as infinite, but they are not endless, they are finite. And we handle our ocean as if it were our drain, she says.
Crown Princess Victoria has long been involved in climate issues. On Thursday she was one of the main speakers at the Lebanon Multi-Stakeholder SDG Forum, which discussed the UN's global goals and Lebanon's work on the goals. In her speech, the Crown Princess spoke of the situation in the Baltic Sea.
- It was such a forum where we talked about the global development goals and for me as ambassador to these goals, it was very important to highlight, among other things, Goal 14, which is life in the seas. But also that you have these challenges here too, we all have the challenges.
According to the Crown Princess, currently is not done enough to save the seas:
- No, we don't do enough. There are many good powers, but we are not fighting enough and I don't think we have understood either how complex it is, it is more urgent than we may think and what we want to see.

Victoria conquers the hearts of the participants when she tells of an event in her childhood.
I remember how my father would take me fishing. We would sit there in our small boat, on the glittering sea, catching one fish after another.
Today, if I take my children fishing, I'm not sure we'll catch anything at all. Of the world's ten largest areas of dead seabed, seven are located in the Baltic Sea.

The Crown Princess of Sweden, Her Royal Highness Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel and the accompanying delegation visited on Wednesday the Al Hussein Society for the Training and Comprehensive Integration of Children with Disabilities.
They were received at the beginning of her tour of the Al Hussein Society by Her Royal Highness Princess Majda Raad and the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Muhannad Al-Azza. During her tour of the main facilities of the association and her school, Princess Victoria heard from the Executive Director of the Society, Anni Abu Hanna, and the rehabilitation counselor of the Society, Dr. Hikmat Haddoush, on the nature of the programs of early intervention, rehabilitation and integration of children with disabilities.
Her Highness also engaged with children, therapists and teachers in the association and her school. Her Highness and Prince Daniel participated in some of the therapeutic exercises offered to children.
In an interview with Jordan News Agency (Petra), princess Victoria said she was happy to visit Al Hussein Society and see the children's vision. She expressed her admiration for the level of services offered by the children's care and rehabilitation.
Princess Majda Raad told Petra that she was proud that the Sweden's Crown Princess visited the Society despite her busy schedule, recalling the visit of Her Majesty Queen Silvia to Jordan in 1989 and her visit to the Hussein Society.

Svensk Damtidning published today at their website their reporter Helena Wiklund's interview with Victoria

After such a trip, there are always some pictures that last longer in your mind. What are these for the Crown Princess this time?
- Yes ... There have been so many strong moments I have to say. But one of the strongest was the girl we met in Amman, at the Center for Children with Disabilities. She had almost just learned to take her first steps. So, that pride and joy! says the Crown Princess emphatically.
The meeting with this girl touched Prince Daniel as well. "It was really moving to see her. It felt in the heart", he said.
But in addition to the hopefulness of the rehab center, there was also great seriousness.
- Of course, I share the frustration of the situation of refugees in refugee camps, both in Jordan and Lebanon, said the Crown Princess.
- To hear them tell me about their home country and their families, it is of course what you are hugely affected by. Just like the meeting we had with the organization KAFA that tries to support and help women who have been subjected to violence and oppression and abuse, both at home and elsewhere.
- The stories were so terrible that I was completely dazed afterwards. You don't believe that kind of things are possible. So it is so important with all of these good powers that exist.
Yes, it was a trip with heavy things. But also with many delicious dishes from Jordanian and Lebanese cuisine - from the meze lunch that the Syrian refugees made to the Crown Princess couple during their work training at the support center to the Prime Minister's palace dinner, a very late evening in Beirut. Not to mention the fresh mangos.
Just before we did our interview, the Crown Princess also enjoyed a special lunch at this simple, but beautifully decorated table in a restaurant up in the mountains. The one rustic dish after the other was brought forth, and everything was made of nutritional raw materials.
We in the press group think we have rarely eaten as good food as at this trip. What does the Crown Princess say?
Victoria answers with a laugh.
- Haha, yes, it really has been very good. And that is also part of this amazing culture.
But five days in Jordan and Lebanon also meant five days away from Prince Oscar and Princess Estelle. A long time, perhaps longest to be away from Prince Oscar. And although Victoria and Daniel know that the children are in safe hands when they are gone, of course, it gives pain to the mother's heart.
How much does the Crown Princess miss Prince Oscar and Princess Estelle on such a trip?
- Oh, I always miss them so much!

Svensk Damtidning's reporter Helena Wiklund writes about what happened behind the scenes at the visit.
The Crown Princess clowned a little at sunset in front of the Citadel in Amman, wearing high-heeled suede pumps.
When the timed schedule breaks out, Victoria doesn't have time to stop at the buffet table. So, of course, she did like everyone else and took some fruit to the napkin to eat in the car.
One of the visit's guest books
One thing is certain: Crown Princess Victoria is listening. Properly.
It did not matter that it was tricky with the language. With the help of a little pointing, Victoria could still bond with the giggling girls at the Beirut Refugee Help Center.
The crown princess doesn't say no to a selfie.
Even Victoria gets tired sometimes.
Last but not least, a favorite repeated: Daniel and the shepherd. Two different worlds, but they clicked anyway!

Habaybna.net published two photos at their Facebook yesterday
"We were honored to meet HRH Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and HE Minister Lena Hallengren during the Royal Reception last month at the Swedish Residence in Amman, sharing the impact made by habaybna.net and our plans moving forward.
Thank you Erik Ullenhag and The Swedish Embassy staff for the invitation and having us part of such evening.
Habaybna's founder Reem had participated in the She Entrepreneurs Program in #Sweden last year, the program empowered her with the knowledge and skills needed to build habaybna.net as a #SocialEnterprise and make a sustainable #impact for individuals #developmental #disabilities in our community."

Habaybna.net is a brand new online resource and learning hub that provides specialized content on developmental disabilities in Arabic throughout the Arab region. The new platform was launched in December 2017 aims to empower parents by providing customized knowledge – in Arabic – through articles and video interviews with experts giving practical guidance, as well as interviews with parents sharing their personal experiences and recommendations. Another important goal of Habaybna.net is to contest the negative stereotypes facing children with disability and focus on their special talents instead.

When Victoria and Daniel were in Amman, they were hosted by Erik Ullenhag, the swedish ambassador to Jordan. Svensk Damtidning's reporter interviewed Erik Ullenhag and his wife at seven in the morning a day after the ambassador hosted a dinner reception in honor of Victoria and Daniel - and they published the interview only last week.

The reception focused on female role models and female entrepreneurship.
Erik Ullenhag says:
- The evening was very successful, with a mix of swedish companies and some successful female entrepreneurs, and the swedish princess Majda and prince Raad also as honorary guests.
- The crown princess couple greeted everyone. They have an ability to really meet people, and they are a very good face out for Sweden.
- They talked a little extra long time with a woman who has started a website for parents of children with intellectual disabilities. The website helps to break the shame, and makes it easier for parents across the Arab world to get in touch.

Svensk Damtidning had last week an article about princess Majda, and in it it is also written about Victoria and Daniel's visit to Al Hussein Society, founded by princess Majda.
Crown princess Victoria and prince Daniel were very impressed about their visit. Daniel said to reporter Helena Wiklund:
- What progress they make, the children, you get so impressed. It's really touching to see the joy and pride in their eyes. And to meet this girl who had just learned to take her first steps, it was incredibly great. I think everyone who saw it felt it close to their hearts, you were taken quite simply. The efforts here at the center really make a huge difference.
- Then we greeted a class with children in Princess Estelle's age and it is clear that then you relate to your own daughter and the conditions she has, and which we in Sweden have.
It can be seen that Princess Majda's and Prince Raad's contact with the Swedish royal family is warm and cordial. Victoria and Daniel were guests of honor at an outdoor lunch in what is known as the Scandinavian Forest, which is situated on a hill on the outskirts of Amman. Princess Majda and her friends in the association Friends of Scandinavia have simply "adopted" the forest. King Carl Gustaf inaugurated the forest in 1989.

Svensk Damtidning reminisces Victoria and Daniel's visit to Burj Al-Barajneh refugee camp.

Victoria's tears in front of everyone
It does not happen often. But on this early autumn morning of 2018, in Lebanon's capital Beirut, emotions finally became too strong for Crown Princess Victoria.
She - who gets to see and experience so many difficult things during her travels - could not hold back any longer.
The Crown Princess couple were on an official visit to Lebanon and on this day they visited the Burj Al-Barajneh refugee camp, where no one really knows how many thousands of Palestinians live in the dilapidated houses, among great misery.
