The visit to the school
Immediately after the simple but emotional welcome, Princess Victoria, husband Daniel, Minister Linde and Swedish Ambassador in Vietnam had an informal exchange with representatives of students of all grades. The conversation took place very openly. The students used English to exchange and share thoughts with the guests confidently and without translators. The whole meeting was organized by the school students actively and mastered and led.
Princess Victoria said she was willing to listen to the students' exchange of ideas on every topic they were interested in. The princess also encouraged students to ask questions and tell about problems for them. With the friendliness of the Princess, the students introduced the school, the activities of the school, especially the experience and activities of environmental protection. Not only about the school, they also mentioned some environmental issues: garbage, water pollution, air pollution ..., about sustainable development, traffic, education in Vietnam and would like to hear information about these issues in Sweden.
With the encouragement of the guests, they also shared the dreams and ambitions of the Vietnamese youth as well as expressed the desire to have more extensive and effective cooperation between the two countries. Students also asked the Swedish Minister of Foreign Trade the opportunity for young people to implement a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Union. The guests were happy to discuss the issues that interest them and ask questions.
At the end of the program, the representatives for students of Experimental High School, Secondary Education and Science gave gifts to the Princess, husband, Minister, Ambassador of Sweden. Princess Victoria and the guests thanked the school for their enthusiastic reception.
The visit of the Swedish Princess, her husband and the Minister of Foreign Trade left many feelings, interesting experiences and deeper insights for the students and teachers. Through such meetings, school students have more opportunities to practice many skills to help their study and work in the future.

Svensk Damtidning's article about the visit in last week's issue.
The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel managed to look great even though they had just flown 14 hours with regular flight via Bangkok.
- Hello Hello! Good morning! Victoria greeted before she passed by on her way up to the suite.
About the vicepresident's dinner, there where seven large round tables and 80 guests at the dinner. About the lunch at the street restaurant, Victoria loves asian food and she loves when it's really spicy. So she held her thumbs up for much chili, and kindly asked "More ajvar!" (relish, made principally from red bell peppers, with eggplant, garlic and chili pepper) when the cook came with the food. This day it was Bun Bo Nam Bo, which was made at the street kitchen, a Vietnamese classic food with wok steak and noodles.

I love this couple, they look and act with such a natural joir de vivre. They must be the most welcome guests and Sweden's diplomatic main charm offensive for both trade and diplomacy.

Important conversations are so much easier when all present have developed a good rapport.

Sweden really lucked out with their Crown Princess couple

During the boat ride, IUCN’s Coastal and Buithithu Hien, Marine Coordinator for Vietnam, briefly shared how IUCN is dealing with the plastic pollution problem by presenting the Marine Plastics and Coastal Communities (MARPLASTICCs) project supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). Hien talked about how the initiative focuses on engaging with a broad range of stakeholders in the country to combat plastic pollution. She also shared IUCN’s work on water management in general and other critical environmental issues, with the Princess.
Throughout the boat ride, Swedish Crown Princess Victoria asked questions about plastic pollution, climate change, and issues of access to clean water in the Mekong Delta.
