Johan T Lindwall tells in Expressen, that Sofia visited the new prince at the hospital last night.
The same kind of Statement of Witness was made with prince Nicolas. The ceremony was done in Haga at Estelle's and Oscar's birth, because Victoria left the hospital so quickly and went home. Princess Leonore was born in USA, so the ceremony couldn't be made.

Is the Te Deum televised?
 
I'm slightly bummed that they didn't remain consistent with the amount of names (and that they didn't choose Edmund) but Oscar Carl Olof is a great, strong name. Estelle and Oscar sounds very lovely.

But Estelle's name wasn't "strange" to the family. It's a family name, so one can rightly argue that they went traditional for her, too.
 
The newborn Prince Oscar is the twelfth member of the House of Bernadotte to carry the name but only the fourth to have it as his first name. He's also the second Duke of Skåne (something I, as a very local patriotic inhabitant of the province, is very happy about).

I just thought that they would use another unusual name. Estelle was a bit of a shock for everyone. It was not an expected name for a queen, that's what I meant. I also expected the baby to get both granfathers names.

No, there is only be a limited photo pool at the beginning of the thanksgiving service.

And Olof is from Daniel. Daniel's name is Olof Daniel.

Speaker Urban Ahlin said that newborn little Oscar is "exceptionally cute". They said also that he is very well behaved and did not say a word during the witness confirmation.

I don't like Oscar, I prefer Carl but the most important is that the parents like the name.
 
Johan T Lindwall texts from the chapel that Estelle sings along with the psalms. She sits still. At one point she dropped her program and picked that discreetly up. Few other four-year-olds had managed doing that.

No he has been given 3 names and they were announced officially today.

There is a possibility that Victorias cousins Oscar Magnuson or Carl Silfverschiöld is one of the godparents.

It is a good, solid name. The second name clashes a bit with the first name but it is not the first time this happens. King Oscar II's son Prince Oscar had the same name, except his third name was August.

So glad to see that now there are some princes too among the princesses. :)
 
Nice to see the entire Royal family there except Victoria, Oscar, Leonor and Nicholas.

But i hope the King who are sick with flu go straight home to bed when todays ceremonies are over. He had almost no voice at the council and was heard coughing hard during the te deum.

On another note, congratulations to the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel for the birth of Prince Oscar Carl Olof, Duke of Skåne.
 
Old names, but I'm just glad their family is growing beautifully.
