German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder welcomes Britain's Queen Elizabeth II at the chancellery in Berlin 02 November 2004. The queen is on a three-day visit to Germany -- her first state visit since 1992, that will include a benefit concert in Berlin for Dresden's Frauenkirche church, which was destroyed in Allied bombing in 1945 and is being restored. This has sparked media speculation that the queen will apologize for the mass bombing of the eastern city, which killed 35,000 people three months before the end of the war.

This is the "Girls of Great Britain & Ireland" tiara. It is one of HM favorites and was left to her by her grandmother Queen Mary. The band at the bottom has previously been detached and the Queen wore it like this as a young woman. HM refers to this tiara as "Grannys Tiara".

November 3, 2004: Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh along with President Horst Koehler attend a gala concert at the Berlin Philarmonic. The concert proceeds will go towards the reconstruction of Dresden's 18th century Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), which was destroyed in Allied bombing in 1945 and is being restored to its former glory. AFP PHOTO DDP/JOHANNES EISELE GERMANY OUT.
I must say I don't like the outfit one bit, after seeing her in beautiful outfits for two days, I was sorely dissapointed to see her attend the gala concert in a blue sack.
P.S. I want to get a closer look at the necklace and figure out which one is it, Can anyone figure out???

Queen Plays The Blues in Germany
Hellomagazine.com
4 NOVEMBER 2004
The Queen has been a picture of British elegance during her state visit to Germany. Travelling with her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, the 78-year-old monarch has made a series of appearances in Europe's most populous country in various shades of blue.
She was sporting an eye-catching turquoise affair when she was welcomed by a huge crowd of well-wishers in Berlin on Tuesday. And the royal opted for a darker hue when she gave speech at the Commonwealth War Graves cemetery in Stahnsdorf the following afternoon.
Her most memorable outfit, however, was the midnight-blue gown with white detailing which she chose for a gala fundraiser at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall.
The Queen has been using her time in Germany to help foster relations between the two countries. She also praised the courageous efforts of those who defied the East German Communist regime to tend the graves of Britain's war heroes. "Stereotypes wither when human contacts flourish," she said. "And we should encourage our young people to know more about each others' countries."
1. Meeting pupils at Berlin's Charles-Dickens elementary school, Her Majesty was once again in blue - this time, a forget-me-not tone
2. Her Majesty, in a dramatic turquoise hat and coat, was greeted by a large crowd of well-wishers when she arrived at Berlin-Tegel airport on Tuesday
3. For an evening with President Koehler and his wife Eva, she opted for a gown in deep lavender
4. Midnight-blue was hue of choice for a gala concert the monarch hosted to raise money for the reconstruction of Dresden's 18th-century cathedral
