Did anyone catch the Royal Family watching the fireworks? I saw it live on CNN, it was so lovely to see the Royal Family on the steps of Kew Palace watching them, they all looked like they were having a really lovely family gathering together! I think one can see it again on both CNN and BBC World in their coming news broadcasts.
BBC World also showed a wonderful little glimpse from coronation day with Charles walking around his parents, dressed in full splendour. His speech tonight was wonderful as well, very moving.

I hope Her Majesty had a wonderful day (it looked like she did! Thanks for the pics, all! ).
I can only hope that I'll be still as vibrant as she is at my 80th birthday! Long live the Queen indeed! :)

When they played the sea shanties at Kew Palace whilst the fireworks display was going on, Princess Anne began bobbing up and down and laughing and grabbed Tim Lawrence and started to dance with him. Wonderful to see.

I think it's great that the people are showing their appreciation for the Queen after so many years of dedication to her country. She has been a "solid rock" in that family for so long... never puting a wrong foot forward in all those years. Truly a remarkable lady.
I also like the different ways they're celebrating her birthday... including all different types of people from everyday life. It's a wonderful opportunity to bring her closer to the people... and for the people to meet the Queen when they normally wouldn't have the chance. A nice touch!
